Corpus and Models for Lemmatisation and POS-tagging of Classical French Theatre

This paper describes the process of building an annotated corpus and training models for classical French literature, with a focus on theatre, and particularly comedies in verse. It was originally developed as a preliminary step to the stylometric analyses presented in Cafiero and Camps [2019]. The use of a recent lemmatiser based on neural networks and a CRF tagger allows to achieve accuracies beyond the current state-of-the art on the in-domain test, and proves to be robust during out-of-domain tests, i.e.up to 20th c.novels

The Chanson d’Otinel : Complete Edition of the Manuscript Corpus and Prolegomena to a Critical Edition. Part of the geste du roi, the Chanson d’Otinel had not been the subject of an edition since the pioneer work of F. Guessard and H. Michelant in 1858. Starting with the tangible objects that manuscripts are, and proceeding to the study of the tradition and work itself, this study aims to provide a new examination of all the available data, in order to enable a restoration of a song that has know an important diffusion in Medieval Europe, but whose scattered remains only are available to us.This study is given a firmly methodological orientation, and searches to apply to the edition the epistemological progresses brought by recent contributions in the field of textual criticism and ecdotics, as well as by what is now called “Digital Humanities”. It aims at overcoming the debate between “New” and Traditional Philology, based on the common errors method or of Bedierist inspiration, to place itself in the perspective of a “Fourth Way” and of an edition “oriented towards the tradition”.Digital scholarly editing and Digital Philology techniques are used in order to provide a full edition of the manuscript corpus, with “layered” transcriptions that give access to different representations and to the graphic system of all witnesses. The edition aims also at the study and description of the links between these witnesses, by suggesting a method of representation of textual variance and by rooting genealogical analysis in a global consideration of the tradition, including medieval translations (in Welsh, Norse, English) and derived versions.The modelling and description of manuscripts and their texts – formalised by an xml/tei model conceived for this edition but seeking to be of more general interest – is clearly oriented towards data mining, and computational as well as traditional analysis (Palaeography, Scriptometry, Stemmatology). Methods from the fields of mathematical modelling, statistics, algorithmic, and artificial intelligence are put to use, as well as processes seeking to allow interoperability, scalability, and systematisation of editorial work (optical character recognition, linguistic tagging, collation), in a workflow centred on analysis. Los Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona, 25 años después (y 4)

Este es el cuarto artículo que publica la revista Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes con motivo del 25º aniversario de los Juegos Olímpicos de 1992, celebrados en Barcelona. El objetivo de la serie era analizar el impacto que han tenido los Juegos en la ciudad y en el país, transcurrido un cuarto de siglo desde la organización de uno de los eventos más importantes organizados por la capital catalana. En base al aprendizaje de este período desde las perspectivas deportiva, económica y social este trabajo sugiere y discute sobre algunos de los elementos que pueden ser clave para la organización de futuros eventos deportivos. Se analizan variables como el lugar e índice de repetición donde se llevan a cabo dichos eventos así como las tendencias de futuro. Existen otros aspectos que están directamente vinculados a la gobernanza, como la elección de las sedes candidatas y el origen de los recursos para financiarlos. Con la opinión de varios autores se ha intentado apuntar sobre la visión de los eventos en los próximos año

Séparation de sources pour l'estimation de la déformation mesurée par capteur à fibre optique

National audience– La surveillance d'un ouvrage est une problématique importante pour augmenter sa durée de vie tout en garantissant sa stabilité. Un moyen efficace pour la surveillance de grands ouvrages linéaires est le capteur à fibre optique par effet Brillouin qui fournit une mesure de la déformation sur plusieurs dizaines de kilomètres de manière répartie avec un pas de mesure de 40 cm. Cette mesure est sensible à la déformation de la fibre optique mais également aux variations de température. Pour interpréter le signal fourni par un tel capteur il est alors nécessaire de séparer l'influence de l'effet de la température de la mesure de déformation. Sachant que dans une structure géotechnique des déformations thermiques apparaissent à cause de la dilatation du matériau, l'objectif est d'estimer les variations de la déformation athermique. Nous proposons alors une méthodologie de séparation de source basée sur le filtre de Wiener. En prenant en compte des informations a priori liées à la température dans la fibre optique mais également à la température extérieure à l'ouvrage, elle permet d'estimer la déformation irréversible dans l'ouvrage. Elle a été testée sur des données acquises sur une digue en terre, et l'influence de la mesure des sources est discutée. Abstract – Structural Health Monitoring is an important issue to increase the exploitation age of a structure as well as its structure. An efficient sensor to measure the strain is the optical fiber sensor, which provides a measure into the optical fiber with a 40cm spatial resolution. This measurement is sensitive to the strain but also to the temperature into the optical fiber. To interpret the strain signal, the influence of the variations of temperature has to be corrected from the given measurement. Knowing that in a geotechnical structure some reversible strain variations appear because of the dilatation of the material, the goal is the estimation of the irreversible strain into a geotechnical structure. We propose a separation source methodology based on the Wiener filter. Taking into account prior temperature measurements, this methodology enables to estimate the irreversible strain into the structure. It has been tested on data acquired into a dyke, and the influence on the sources measurement is discussed
