    EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN SOCRATES KONTEKSTUAL DIKAJI DARI KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATEMATIS SISWA

    This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of Socrates Contextual Learning viewed by students mathematical critical thinking ability. The research design which was used was one-group pretest-posttest. The population of this research was all of students of grade VII of SMP Negeri 8 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015. The sample of this research was students of VII J class that was chosen by purposive sampling technique. The data of the research were collected by students mathematical critical thinking ability test which was analyzed by the right side of paired sample t-test and proportion test. Based on the result of the research, it was concluded that Socrates Contextual Learning was not effective viewed by students mathematical critical thinking ability.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan Pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual dikaji dari kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one-group pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII J yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang dianalisis menggunakan paired sample t-test pihak kanan dan uji proporsi pihak kanan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual tidak efektif dikaji dari kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis matematis, kontekstual, Socrate

    Karakterisasi Bioplastik dari Pektin Kulit Labu Kuning (Cucurbita moschata Durch)

    Pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata Durch) is one of the vegetable plants that are generally consumed as food. Pumpkin skin is a waste that has potential as a raw material for making bioplastics because it has pectin content. The characteristics of pectin that are gel become a reference in making bioplastics. Bioplastic synthesis consists of four steps, namely the making of pumpkin peel flour, pectin extraction, bioplastic synthesis, and bioplastic characterization. The experimental results show that pumpkin skin waste can be extracted with HCl solution and produce pectin in a ratio of0.1:10 grams (w/w). The results of FTIR spectra characterization showed that bioplastics included pectin which produced absorption of C = O carbonyl groups in 1645 - 1625 cm-1 and C-O stretch groups at 1101 - 1104 cm-1. Bioplastics produced have yellow characteristic. Pumpkin skin waste bioplastics are expected to be an alternative solution to the utilization of waste into products
