Conciliation in equity. Tool for building peace in Colombia

El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar sobre cómo la conciliación en equidad es una herramienta para la construcción de paz en el marco del acuerdo de paz suscrito entre el Estado colombiano y las FARC-EP. Para ello, en primer lugar se hace referencia a los métodos de solución de conflictos diferentes a la justicia formal, entre ellos, la conciliación en equidad, y la manera como están contemplados en la legislación colombiana; en segundo, se hace una descripción sobre laconstrucción de paz en lo que se refiere al acuerdo de paz; posteriormente se hace referencia los métodos de solución de conflictos como herramientas para la construcción de paz y para ello se revisan algunas concepciones sobre la paz y la cultura de paz; y finalmente se puntualiza sobre cómo la conciliación en equidad funge como herramienta para la construcción de paz en el sentido dado por el acuerdo.The objective of this article is to reflect on how the conciliation in equity is a tool for the construction of peace within the framework of the peace agreement signed between the Colombian state and the FARC-EP. For this purpose, reference is first made to conflict resolution methods other than formal justice, including conciliation in equity, and the way they are contemplated in Colombian legislation. In the second place, a description of the construction of peace in relation to the peace agreement is made and subsequently, conflict resolution methods are referred to as tools for the construction of peace, for which purpose some conceptions about peace and the culture of peace are reviewed and, finally, how the conciliation in equity serves as a tool for the construction of peace is specified in the sense givenby the agreement

Strategies for Territorial Peace: The Overcoming of the Structural Violence in Women Living in Palmira, Colombia

Women experience different types of violence, and poverty is one of them. The aim of this work was to show the situation of poverty experienced by women in Palmira and how this condition affects both their participation in and contribution to the achievement of territorial peace—a central political target in our country. For this, a descriptive and predictive study was carried out by applying a survey to measure the different types of violence affecting Palmirana women. The results demonstrate the predominance of structural violence suffered by women, which creates unfavorable conditions for the construction of peace in Colombia
