The researches were carried out under the conditions of 2019 and aimed at assessing the quality and availability for irrigation of groundwater and surface water from different sources located on the territory of Dabuleni Research Development Station for Plant Culture on Sands (Dabuleni RDSPCS). The results regarding the quality of the water showed different values according to the source and climatic conditions. The average values regarding the fixed mineral residue, pH, nitrate content and ammonium ions, determined in 9 working points, show that the analyzed sources cannot be used as drinking water, but can be used for irrigation of agricultural crops. The obtained results showed the following water quality indicators: mineral residue = 475 -1350 mg / dm3; pH = 7.05 - 8.43; nitrates = 10.23 - 28.08 mg / dm3, ammonium (NH4 +) = 1.73 - 8.82 mg/dm3

Seismic Behavior of Self-Balancing Post-Tensioned Reinforced Concrete Spatial Structure

    No full text
The construction industry is currently trying to develop sustainable reinforced concrete structures. In trying to aid in the effort, the research presented in this paper aims to prove the efficiency of modified special hybrid moment frames composed of discretely jointed precast and post-tensioned concrete members. This aim is due to the fact that current design standards do not cover the spatial design of moment frame structures assembled by post-tensioning with special hybrid joints. This lack of standardization is coupled with the fact that previous experimental programs, available in scientific literature, deal mainly with plane structures and offer little information regarding spatial behavior. A spatial model of a modified hybrid moment frame is experimentally analyzed. The experimental results of a natural scale model test of a corner column-beams sub-structure, cut from an actual multilevel building tested to seismic type loading are presented in order to highlight the behavior of this type of structure. The test is performed under alternative cycles of imposed lateral displacements, up to a storey drift ratio of 0.035. Seismic response of the spatial model is discussed considering the acceptance criteria for reinforced concrete frame structures designed based on experimental tests, as well as some of its major sustainability features. The results obtained show an overall excellent behavior of the system. The joint detailing allows for quick and cheap repairs after an accidental event and a self-balancing behavior of the system that ensures it can be used almost immediately after an accidental event it

Stationary Magnetic Field of an Electric Circuit Laid out on the Floatation of a Ship

This paper presents the calculus algorithm of the intensity of the magnetic field for a maritime ship. The following have been analyzed: the magnetic field created by a live oriented right line segment and the magnetic field created by oriented circuit segments positioned across in the floating plane from a ship side to the other. The spreading of the magnetic field has been calculated for a ship with a view to compensate the vertical component of the terrestrial magnetic field

Isolation of bacteria from soil surrounding of rafflesla Kerri Meijer in Lojing Highlands, Kelantan

Upstream Lojing Highland, Kelantan is chosen as the study area to isolate the bacteria from soil surrounding the Rafflesia kerri flower. Rqf/lesia kerri is attraction for tourist in the Lojing Highlands. The objectives of this study is to assess the distances association of soil bacteria from Rqfflesia kerri by identify the morphology characteristics of soil bacteria using Gram staining method. Soil samples were collected with different distances from the Rafflesia flower which are 20, 40 and 60 meters. A total number of 34 isolated bacteria were obtained growth on the Nutrient Agar plate. Gram staining method was used to determine Gram positive and negative bacteria by observed under light microscope. Morphology characteristics bacteria were characterized through form and Gram staining. The percentage form of bacteria obtained are as follows: irregular (38%), filamentous (29%), spindle and rhizoid both (12%) and circular (9%). Irregular form is the common shape for soil bacteria. Result from the Gram staining shows 65% of bacteria are from the Gram positive bacteria, meanwhile Gram negative are 35%. The results also identified that five species of bacteria inhabited on soil surrounding of Rqf/lesia kerri flower as follows: Corynebaclerium diphrheriae. Bacillus sublilis. Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Spirilium volurans. As conclusion, number of colonies of soil sample collected from distances near to Rafllesia kerri ‘flower higher than distances far to flower and mostly the soil bacteria collected is irregular form and positive Gram bacteria
