The Macroeconomic Outlook and the Impact of the Global Crisis in the Euro Area
This paper provides general analysis and evolution of macroeconomic and financial indicators in the euro area, during the recent crisis 2008-2009. The financial market turmoil that began in 2007 led to a severe global economic downturn. The causes of the crisis, the effects on global financial markets, and the spillover to the economy are permanently examined by the analysts, but the final conclusions are not clear yet. The conclusion of this paper is that the global activity is recovering at varying speeds in some countries, tepidly in many of the advanced economies but solidly in most emerging and developing economies.Global economics crisis, Global crisis debate

A Kinetic Study of Hydrogen Peroxide Decomposition in Presence of Pyrite
The kinetics of hydrogen peroxide decomposition in presence of pyrite has been investigated in aqueous acidic media. It was found that hydrogen peroxide decomposition is double catalyzed by iron sites found on pyrite surface (a heterogeneous reaction) and aqueous ferric iron (a homogenous reaction). The heterogeneous reaction is first order with respect to [H2O2], and homogeneous reaction is first order with respect to [H2O2] and [Fe(aq)]. The rate is proportional to a fractional power of the geometric surface area (0.77) and [H+] (–0.55). The apparent activation energy of the hydrogen peroxide decomposition into oxygen and water at a temperature range of 25 to 45 °C was found to be 79.5 kJ mol–1
Google's Anti-competitive and Unfair Practices in Digital Leisure Markets
The purpose of this article is to reflect on the critical use of commitments in the Google case and to analyse and review the matrix of facts that have been highlighted in the academic and practitioner literature. Therefore, the core areas of reflection in this contribution are: relevant markets; barriers to entry; network and lock-in effects; dominance; and, potential anticompetitive, as well as unfair practices as regards commercial advertisements. The analysis of the online search-engine market is complemented by the comparative insights offered by the US class action against Google’s Android mobile applications. In the EU, a similar trend is noticeable in the complaining tone of Google’s competitors. When this is coupled with the transitional period of the mandate of the newly appointed Commissioner for Competition and the political sensitivity over the potential to misuse search-engine users’ personal data to serve commercial purposes, such as boosting its advertising revenues, the giant Google swims in uncertain waters
