The Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) commissioned an impact assessment of its Western Balkans program from 2010 to 2015. As the team who carried out this assessment, our overall conclusion from the assessment is that the RBF program in the Western Balkans is having meaningful positive impact, and it is relevant to the developments in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and the rest of the region. I never had Professor Dupre in class. In fact, I did not meet heruntil the summer before my third year of law school. I was thenew Editor in Chief, and she had just been appointed as thefaculty advisor for the Georgia Law Review. Having heard aboutProfessor Dupre\u27s classes, I was pretty sure I had walked into thewrong office when I met the funny, cordial, and delightful womansitting behind the desk. This was the intimidating professor whostruck fear in the hearts of innumerable students? Impossible-she was too nice. Professor Dupre and I continued to enjoy thebest of working relationships that year. She made clear to theExecutive Board that she trusted us to do a good job and gave us agreat deal of autonomy, while serving as a mentor and a soundingboard as we navigated through the process of publishing a topnotch law review. Working with her was a true delight, and I leftlaw school knowing she was a consummate professional and theepitome of a class act. And, I hoped that a little of thosecharacteristics had rubbed off on all of us as we entered thepractice of law.About three years after I graduated from law school, Anne and Iran into one another after I moved back to Athens to work at alocal law firm. Our relationship quickly evolved from professorand student to true friends. We met often for lunch, shared apersonal trainer, went shopping, talked sports, offered each otherbook recommendations, and basically supported one another asonly true friends do. We, along with a law school classmate ofmine, also traveled to Europe together, having discovered a sharedlove for travel and all things French. While she, deservedly, hasbeen repeatedly lauded for her professional and academicachievements, Anne\u27s compassion for others, inner drive, and love for life taught her friends and family lessons from which we willbenefit for the rest of our lives
