APPROACH OF THE SYSTEMIC DESIGN IN MATERIAL AND INTANGIBLE CULTURE OF ESTRADA REAL: TERRITORIAL SERRO CASE

This study aimed to apply the Systemic Design methodology in the context of the Estrada Real (Royal Road), specifically in Serro Territory, in order to generate a new economic and development model in this location, by creating relationships between their production systems. The first step of the methodology involved the understanding the territory in all its amplitude, i.e., the history of the place, its physical and climatic aspects, its natural resources, its activities (social, cultural and productive), the way and the pace of life community, as well as its infrastructure. The second phase encompassed the systematization and analysis of existing artisanal production systems in Serro Territory. For such a field survey was conducted in which the artisans were interviewed and the production sites were visited. On this occasion, we investigated all output and input of their activities. In the third step of the methodology were designed the matter and energy flows of the nine production systems in question, from the analysis of the "negative points" that emerged in the previous step, as well as the characteristics and potential of the material and immaterial local resources. This process allowed the emergence of several new activities and new products. In the fourth and last step, the current system (existing) and the systemic system (proposed) were compared. Such confrontation demonstrated that, with the approach of Systemic Design the same territory would come to get, on average, an increase of 530% of products and 820% of activity, resulting therefore in a huge business volume. As envisioned results are highlighted: i) in the economic field: expansion of activities; increase in jobs; increase income generation in the community; ii) in the environmental sphere: sustainable management of natural resources; iii) in the cultural field: appreciation of culture; enhancement of local know-how; iv) in the social sector: improving quality of life; keeps its inhabitants in their territory

A inserção de parâmetros ambientais no desenvolvimento de produtos: caso categoria móveis de madeira

Por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica, em nível nacional e internacional, verificou-se que a problemática de tal inserção reside na sua efetividade e abrangência, o que pôde ser confirmado por meio de pesquisa de campo realizada com designers que praticam o ecodesign. Sendo assim, elaborou-se uma ferramenta com o intuito de solucionar tais deficiências, com características favoráveis à sua utilização por designers. A metodologia utilizada para sua elaboração se dividiu em quatro etapas, quais sejam: i) investigação a respeito dos parâmetros ambientais empregados para o desenvolvimento de produtos, compreendido em dez categorias; ii) triagem daqueles adequados à aplicação, pelo designer, durante o projeto de produtos; iii) seleção dos parâmetros ambientais voltados para projeto de móveis de madeira, limite estabelecido neste trabalho; iv) organização destes parâmetros, agrupando aqueles que abordam o mesmo aspecto ou se complementam; e complementação, ou seja, fornecimento de instrumentos tangíveis para efetivação da inserção dos parâmetros ambientais. Esse método permitiu a concepção de uma ferramenta, conformada em um Guia, denominado Guia para Inserção de Parâmetros Ambientais no Design de Móveis de Madeira. Com o intuito de comprovar sua efetividade, foi realizada entrevista semiestruturada e focalizada com componentes característicos da população, ou seja, designers com experiência no desenvolvimento de móveis de madeira. A análise dessas entrevistas validou a necessidade, a importância e a real possibilidade de aplicação desse Guia para o desenvolvimento de móveis de madeira com qualidade ambiental.This study aimed to understand how the inclusion of environmental parameters on product design takes place. Through a literature review, nationally and internationally, it was found that this problem relies on their comprehensiveness and effectiveness, which could be confirmed through field research with designers who practice ecodesign. Therefore, a tool which addresses these weaknesses and based on favorable characteristics to their use by designers was elaborated. The methodology used for the research development was divided into four stages, as follows: i) research regarding the environmental parameters used for product development, spread over ten categories; ii) selection of those parameters suitable for implementation by designers in product design; iii) selection of suitable parameters for wooden furniture, limit established in this work; iv) organization of all these parameters, grouping those that are complementary or address the same subject, i.e. the provision of tools and equipment for the effective integration of environmental parameters. This method allows the design of a tool, named as Parameters Guide in Environmental Design Wood Furniture. Looking at the research validation, half structured interviews were held and focused on the characteristic population, i.e. designers with experience in creating wooden furniture.
