The classification of all single travelling wave solutions to Calogero-Degasperis-Focas equation
Under the travelling wave transformation, Calogero-Degasperis-Focas equation
was reduced to an ordinary differential equation. Using a symmetry group of
one-parameter, this ODE was reduced to a second order linear inhomogeneous ODE.
Furthermore, we applied the change of the variable and complete discrimination
system for polynomial to solve the corresponding integrals and obtained the
classification of all single travelling wave solutions to

Average kinetic energy of heavy quark (μπ2) inside heavy meson in 0− state by Bethe–Salpeter method
AbstractThe average kinetic energy of the heavy quark inside B or D meson is computed by means of the instantaneous Bethe–Salpeter method. We first solve the relativistic Salpeter equation and obtain the relativistic wave function and mass of 0− state, then we use the relativistic wave function to calculate the average kinetic energy of the heavy quark inside heavy meson of 0− state. We find that the relativistic corrections to the average kinetic energy of the heavy quark inside B or D meson are quite large and cannot be ignored. We estimate μ2π(=−λ1)≈0.24(B0,B±), 0.20(D0,D±), 0.33(Bs), 0.26(Ds), 0.83(Bc) and 0.62(ηc) GeV2
Transport spectroscopy in a time-modulated open quantum dot
We have investigated the time-modulated coherent quantum transport phenomena
in a ballistic open quantum dot. The conductance and the electron dwell
time in the dots are calculated by a time-dependent mode-matching method. Under
high-frequency modulation, the traversing electrons are found to exhibit three
types of resonant scatterings. They are intersideband scatterings: into
quasibound states in the dots, into true bound states in the dots, and into
quasibound states just beneath the subband threshold in the leads. Dip
structures or fano structures in are their signatures. Our results show
structures due to 2 intersideband processes. At the above
scattering resonances, we have estimated, according to our dwell time
calculation, the number of round-trip scatterings that the traversing electrons

SUSY-QCD Effect on Top-Charm Associated Production at Linear Collider

Cantonese as an additional language in Hong Kong
Based on data obtained from a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with four Caucasians and four dark-skinned Asians, this study shows that while some ‘foreigners’ do make an effort to learn Cantonese, many find the teaching methods not so useful and the language difficult to master, especially its tone system. The data are analyzed following the interactive multicultural model of acculturation. The findings point toward a huge chasm between non-local groups and the Cantonese-speaking community. The receptivity of Hong Kong Chinese towards attempts by members of non-local groups to speak Cantonese varies, depending on their racial identity and socioeconomic status
LIS dissertation titles and abstracts (1930-2009): Where have all the librar* gone?
This article examines the topicality of Library and Information Science (LIS) dissertations written between 1930 and 2009 at schools with American Library Association (ALA)-accredited university programs in North America. Dissertation titles and abstracts were examined for the presence of library-related keywords drawn from the core curricula of ALA-accredited schools, and trend data were created to describe the evolution of LIS doctoral research over the past eighty years. The results show that the percentage of dissertations found to contain no instance of any of the selected library keywords has steadily risen since 1980. Simultaneously, the percentage of dissertations found to contain instances of keywords in both the title and abstract has steadily declined. The results provide general empirical support for long-held anecdotal assertions that libraries are no longer the primary research focus at the doctoral level in LIS

Virtual Effects of Split SUSY in Higgs Productions at Linear Colliders
In split supersymmetry the gauginos and higgsinos are the only supersymmetric
particles possibly accessible at foreseeable colliders like the CERN Large
Hadron Collider (LHC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC). In order to
account for the cosmic dark matter measured by WMAP, these gauginos and
higgsinos are stringently constrained and could be explored at the colliders
through their direct productions and/or virtual effects in some processes. The
clean environment and high luminosity of the ILC render the virtual effects of
percent level meaningful in unraveling the new physics effects. In this work we
assume split supersymmetry and calculate the virtual effects of the
WMAP-allowed gauginos and higgsinos in Higgs productions e+e- -> Z h and e+e-
-> \nu_e \bar_\nu_e h through WW fusion at the ILC. We find that the production
cross section of e+e- -> Zh can be altered by a few percent in some part of the
WMAP-allowed parameter space, while the correction to the WW-fusion process
e+e- -> \nu_e \bar_\nu_e h is below 1%. Such virtual effects are correlated
with the cross sections of chargino pair productions and can offer
complementary information in probing split supersymmetry at the colliders.Comment: more discussions added (7 pages, 10 figs
Efficient Seeds Computation Revisited
The notion of the cover is a generalization of a period of a string, and
there are linear time algorithms for finding the shortest cover. The seed is a
more complicated generalization of periodicity, it is a cover of a superstring
of a given string, and the shortest seed problem is of much higher algorithmic
difficulty. The problem is not well understood, no linear time algorithm is
known. In the paper we give linear time algorithms for some of its versions ---
computing shortest left-seed array, longest left-seed array and checking for
seeds of a given length. The algorithm for the last problem is used to compute
the seed array of a string (i.e., the shortest seeds for all the prefixes of
the string) in time. We describe also a simpler alternative algorithm
computing efficiently the shortest seeds. As a by-product we obtain an
time algorithm checking if the shortest seed has length at
least and finding the corresponding seed. We also correct some important
details missing in the previously known shortest-seed algorithm (Iliopoulos et
