Impact of Subleading Corrections on Hadronic B Decays
We study the subleading corrections originating from the 3-parton (q\bar q g)
Fock states of final-state mesons in B decays. The corrections could give
significant contributions to decays involving an \omega or \eta^{(\prime)} in
the final states. Our results indicate the similarity of \omega K and \omega
\pi^- rates, of order 5\times 10^{-6}, consistent with the recent measurements.
We obtain a_2(B\to J/\psi K)\approx 0.27+0.05i, in good agreement with data.
Without resorting to the unknown singlet annihilation effects, 3-parton Fock
state contributions can enhance the branching ratios of K\eta' to the level
above 50\times 10^{-6}.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures, revtex4; some typos corrected, a new figure and a

Local channels preserving maximal entanglement or Schmidt number
Maximal entanglement and Schmidt number play an important role in various
quantum information tasks. In this paper, it is shown that a local channel
preserves maximal entanglement state(MES) or preserves pure states with Schmidt
number ( is a fixed integer) if and only if it is a local unitary
operation.Comment: 10 page
B_c meson rare decays in the light-cone quark model
We investigate the rare decays
and in the framework of the
light-cone quark model (LCQM). The transition form factors are calculated in
the space-like region and then analytically continued to the time-like region
via exponential parametrization. The branching ratios and longitudinal lepton
polarization asymmetries (LPAs) for the two decays are given and compared with
each other. The results are helpful to investigating the structure of
meson and to testing the unitarity of CKM quark mixing matrix. All these
results can be tested in the future experiments at the LHC.Comment: 9 pages, 11 figures, version accepted for publication in EPJ
Study of Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays with perturbative QCD approach
The Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays are studied with the perturbative QCD
approach. It is found that form factors and branching ratios are sensitive to
the parameters w, v, f_J/psi and f_etac, where w and v are the parameters of
the charmonium wave functions for Coulomb potential and harmonic oscillator
potential, respectively, f_J/psi and f_etac are the decay constants of the
J/psi and etac mesons, respectively. The large branching ratios and the clear
signals of the final states make the Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays to be the
prospective channels for measurements at the hadron collidersComment: 21 pages, revtex
Using Heavy Quark Spin Symmetry in Semileptonic Decays
The form factors parameterizing the B_c semileptonic matrix elements can be
related to a few invariant functions if the decoupling of the spin of the heavy
quarks in B_c and in the mesons produced in the semileptonic decays is
exploited. We compute the form factors as overlap integral of the meson
wave-functions obtained using a QCD relativistic potential model, and give
predictions for semileptonic and non-leptonic B_c decay modes. We also discuss
possible experimental tests of the heavy quark spin symmetry in B_c decays.Comment: RevTex, 22 pages, 2 figure
Observed photodetachment in parallel electric and magnetic fields
We investigate photodetachment from negative ions in a homogeneous 1.0-T
magnetic field and a parallel electric field of approximately 10 V/cm. A
theoretical model for detachment in combined fields is presented. Calculations
show that a field of 10 V/cm or more should considerably diminish the Landau
structure in the detachment cross section. The ions are produced and stored in
a Penning ion trap and illuminated by a single-mode dye laser. We present
preliminary results for detachment from S- showing qualitative agreement with
the model. Future directions of the work are also discussed.Comment: Nine pages, five figures, minor revisions showing final publicatio
Geometry of entangled states
Geometric properties of the set of quantum entangled states are investigated.
We propose an explicit method to compute the dimension of local orbits for any
mixed state of the general K x M problem and characterize the set of
effectively different states (which cannot be related by local
transformations). Thus we generalize earlier results obtained for the simplest
2 x 2 system, which lead to a stratification of the 6D set of N=4 pure states.
We define the concept of absolutely separable states, for which all globally
equivalent states are separable.Comment: 16 latex pages, 4 figures in epsf, minor corrections, references

Non-cubic layered structure of Ba(1-x)K(x)BiO3 superconductor
Bismuthate superconductor Ba(1-x)K(x)BiO3 (x=0.27-0.49, Tc=25-32K) grown by
an electrolysis technique was studied by electron diffraction and
high-resolution electron microscopy. The crystalline structure thereof has been
found to be non-cubic, of the layered nature, and non-centrosymmetric, with the
lattice parameters a ~ ap, c ~ 2ap (ap is a simple cubic perovskite cell
parameter) containing an ordered arrangement of barium and potassium. The
evidence for the layered nature of the bismuthate superconductor removes the
principal crystallographic contradiction between bismuthate and cuprate high-Tc
superconductors.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, to be published in Physical Review B as a Rapid

Phenomenological Analysis of B->PP Decays with QCD Factorization
In this paper, we study nonleptonic charmless B decays to two light
pseudoscalar mesons within the frame of QCD factorization, including the
contributions from the chirally enhanced power corrections and weak
annihilation. Predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios and CP-violating
asymmetries are given. Within the reasonable range of the parameters, we find
that our predictions for the branching ratios of B -> PP are consistent with
the present experimental data. But because of the logarithmic divergences at
the endpoints in the hard spectator scatterings and weak annihilation, there
are still large uncertainties in these predictions.Comment: 34 pages, 5 figures. to appear in PR
