Brane Cosmology and KK Gravitinos
The cosmology of KK gravitinos in models with extra dimensions is considered.
The main result is that the production of such KK modes is not compatible with
an epoch of non--standard expansion after inflation. This is so because the BBN
constraint on the zero mode forces the reduced five dimensional Planck mass
down to values much smaller than the usual four dimensional one, but this
in turn implies many KK states available for a given temperature. Once these
states are taken into account one finds that there is no for which the
produced KK gravitinos satisfy BBN and overclosure constraints. This conclusion
holds for both flat and warped models in which only gravity propagates in the

Symplectic Three-Algebra and N=6, Sp(2N) X U(1) Superconformal Chern-Simons-Matter Theory
We introduce an anti-symmetric metric into a 3-algebra and call it a
symplectic 3-algebra. The N=6, Sp(2N) X U(1) superconformal Chern-Simons-matter
theory with SU(4) R-symmetry in three dimensions is constructed by specifying
the 3-brackets in a symplectic 3-algebra. We also demonstrate that the N=6,

Gauge and Supersymmetric Invariance of a Boundary Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson Theory
In this paper we will discuss the effect of a having a boundary on the
supersymmetric invariance and gauge invariance of the Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson
(BLG) Theory. We will show that even though the supersymmetry and gauge
invariance of the original BLG theory is broken due to the presence of a
boundary, it restored by the addition of suitable boundary terms. In fact, to
achieve the gauge invariance of this theory, we will have to introduce new
boundary degrees of freedom. The boundary theory obeyed by these new boundary
degrees of freedom will be shown to be a generalization of the gauged
Wess-Zumino-Witten model, with the generators of the Lie algebra replaced by
the generators of the Lie 3-algebra. The gauge and supersymmetry variations of
the boundary theory will exactly cancel the boundary terms generated by the

Processing-bioprocessing of oilseed rape in bioenergy production and value added utilization of remaining seed components
Cruciferous oilseed crops accumulate relatively high concentrations of oil, proteins and dietary fibres (DF) in their seeds, in addition to bioactive components as glucosinolates and myrosinase isoenzymes (thioglucohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.147). When mixed in the presence of moisture, myrosinase isoenzymes and associated components transform glucosinolates into various types of products, which reduces the value of the extracted oil and the remaining seed components, as well as producing unwanted environmental effects due to smell and toxicity. This gives a need for special care concerning myrosinase inactivation as the initial step during processing of oilseed rape, including technologies applied for biodiesel/bioenergy production. The myrosinase inactivation is thus a critical processing step, which needs to be performed at conditions with limited negative effects on other seed components, including proteins and glucosinolates. New bioprocessing technologies are now developed at levels that allow technology transfer from laboratory scale through pilot plant to industrial scale. The extraction of glucosinolates from the seed components remaining after oil separation-pressing and/or extraction is technically possible and has proven successful with the use of bioprocessing technologies. This is also the case concerning isolation of active myrosinases. The possibilities therefore exist for extraction and formulation of glucosinolates as “natural product derived” food and plant protection agents. With the great amounts of partly de-oiled rapeseed meal resulting from bioenergy/biodiesel production, the new bioprocessing technologies call thus for attention in relation to environmental friendly production of food (vegetable oil, protein and DF products), feed and other non food products
Interaction between M2-branes and Bulk Form Fields
We construct the interaction terms between the world-volume fields of
multiple M2-branes and the 3- and 6-form fields in the context of ABJM theory
with U()U() gauge symmetry. A consistency check is made in the
simplest case of a single M2-brane, i.e, our construction matches the known
effective action of M2-brane coupled to antisymmetric 3-form field. We show
that when dimensionally reduced, our couplings coincide with the effective
action of D2-branes coupled to R-R 3- and 5-form fields in type IIA string
theory. We also comment on the relation between a coupling with a specific
6-form field configuration and the supersymmetry preserving mass deformation in

Scherk-Schwarz SUSY breaking from the viewpoint of 5D conformal supergravity
We reinterpret the Scherk-Schwarz (SS) boundary condition for SU(2)_R in a
compactified five-dimensional (5D) Poincare supergravity in terms of the
twisted SU(2)_U gauge fixing in 5D conformal supergravity. In such translation,
only the compensator hypermultiplet is relevant to the SS twist, and various
properties of the SS mechanism can be easily understood. Especially, we show
the correspondence between the SS twist and constant superpotentials within our

The Gauge Dual of Gauged N=8 Supergravity Theory
The most general SU(3)-singlet space of gauged N=8 supergravity in
four-dimensions is studied recently. The SU(3)-invariant six scalar fields are
realized by six real four-forms. A family of holographic N=1 supersymmetric RG
flows on M2-branes in three-dimensions is described. This family of flows is
driven by three independent mass parameters from the N=8 SO(8) theory and is
controlled by two IR fixed points, N=1 G_2-invariant one and N=2 SU(3) x
U(1)-invariant one. The generic flow with arbitrary mass parameters is N=1
supersymmetric and reaches to the N=2 SU(3) x U(1) fixed point where the three
masses become identical. A particular N=1 supersymmetric SU(3)-preserving RG
flow from the N=1 G_2-invariant fixed point to the N=2 SU(3) x U(1)-invariant

Nonabelian (2,0) Tensor Multiplets and 3-algebras
Using 3-algebras we obtain a nonabelian system of equations that furnish a
representation of the (2,0)-supersymmetric tensor multiplet. The on-shell
conditions are quite restrictive so that the system can be reduced to
five-dimensional gauge theory along with six-dimensional abelian (2,0) tensor
multiplets. We briefly discuss possible applications to D4-branes using a
