    INTERRELATIONS BETWEEN THE MYCORRHIZAL SYSTEMS AND SOIL ORGANISMS

    The mycorrhizae are largely spread in natural ecosystems, and the proportion of plants that realise mycorrhizas is overwhelming, this relation involving advantages for both partners. The presence or absence of mycorrhizae, the rate and intensity of mycorrhiza formation are aspects with ecological importance, but also present importance in modern agriculture. The research results published on international literature which views the principal relations between mycorrhizae and soil microbiota, the way in which these relations affect the intensity of mycorrhizae formation and also the efficiency of mycorrhizae under the influence of soil organisms are synthesized and commented in this paper. The relations between mycorrhizae and different categories of bacteria, protozoa or microfungi, as well the influence of invertebrates through interactions of them with microorganisms are also being analyzed

    In situ and in vitro comparative study on the bioproductivity of Arnicae folium et caulis from the northern area of the Romanian eastern carpathians

    Arnica montana L. is an important plant bioresource, being traditionally used as medicinal plant, for which the scientific and economic interest remains at a high level. The aim of our study was to evaluate the bioproductivity for Arnicae folium et caulis in terms of biomass and content in biological active compounds originating from the wild populations and in vitro experimental cultures – under controlled environment. In situ biomass production registered variations, probably due to the different environmental features and also to the management strategies for each site. The development of in vitro cultures had as purpose the evaluation of the biomass production and production of plant material for the phytochemical screening. The Arnicae folium et caulis samples harvested from the wild populations have a higher content in phenolic acids than the Arnicae flos from the same area, but the total content in sesquiterpen-lactones was significantly lower. In contrast, the samples originating from the in vitro cultures had a low content in phenolic compounds and a high content in sesquiterpen-lactones, comparable with Arnicae flos

    Adventitious roots development and root system architecture of Chrysanthemum cuttings

    Chrysanthemum have significant ornamental value and thus have a great economic importance and are also subjected to losses due to the insufficient rooting of the cuttings - the main method of vegetative propagation practiced for this crop. Insufficient understanding of the mechanisms that control adventitious root formation prevents the use of reliable technologies to improve the percentage of root adventitious development in cuttings of ornamental plants in general. Also, knowing the architecture of the root system helps correct application of chrysanthemum culture technologies. Two different cultivars of Chrysanthemum was investigated in order to describe the radicular architecture of cuttings, with emphasis on the root type and the influence of substrate on the developed model into four different variants of rooting substrate

    SOME ASPECTS REGARDING THE CULTIVATION OF SPECIES WITH DECORATIVE VALUE ACONITUM DEGENII Gáyer

    Ex situ conservation is the most important way through a Botanic Garden contributes to biodiversity conservation. One of the multiple directions of ex situ conservation is the diversification of the collections with spontaneous cormophytes presenting decorative value. Aconitum degenii Gáyer is an herbaceous, perennial and toxic species with the areal in Alps and Carpathian Mountains, sporadically met at forest’s margins. This species has been studied in 2009-2011 period in order to observe its behavior in the environmental conditions characteristic to the Botanic Garden of Iasi. To accomplish this aim seeds, rhizomes and individuals have been collected from the wild and introduced in experimental fields. Comparisons between flowering periods, qualitative (color of the flowers) and quantitative (number of the flowers, leaves and ramifications, plants height, rhizomes length) decorative characters of both cultivated and spontaneous individuals have been realized. It was observed that Aconitum degenii Gáyer individuals are keeping (almost the same quantitative characteristics) and even improve (longer flowering period) their decorative characteristics without being deteriorated or diminished. From the morpho – anatomical perspective none significant differences have been observed

Solar collectors need to be inclined at the optimum angle to maximize the receiving energy. In this work, we proposed to analyze the optimum tilt angle for compound parabolic collectors CPC with different concentration ratios. There are analyzed the energy gains when the collector keeps the same position during the whole year and when the collector changes its tilt twice a year, in summer and in winter

    Composition of Syngas Produced by Gasification of Agricultural Residue Briquettes

    This paper summarizes the results of an experimental study on the gasification of briquettes made from different agricultural residues. There were investigated the effects of operating parameters such as temperature and excess air ratio both with a direct influence on the composition of syngas and the heating value. The results indicate that the concentrations of N2, CO2 and CH4 increase with the increase in excess air ratio, while the concentrations of H2 and CO decrease. The heating value of the syngas was found to decrease with the increase in excess air ratio
