More than 800 Ouachita students, faculty and staff âServe Arkadelphiaâ for fall Tiger Serve Day
A total of 805 students, faculty and staff from Ouachita Baptist University served the community of Arkadelphia during Tiger Serve Day on Saturday, Sept. 23, including 27 volunteers who were involved in hurricane relief efforts in Houston, Texas. A total of 111 Tiger Serve Day projects were completed by 110 volunteer teams
Ouachita and Henderson to co-host âWhat Were You Wearing?â sexual assault survivor art exhibit April 2-20
Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University will simultaneously host the traveling art exhibit, âWhat Were You Wearing?â The exhibit, which will be located in the McClellan Rotunda at Ouachita and on the first floor of Huie Library at Henderson, will run from April 2-20 for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. An opening reception will be held Tuesday, April 3, from 4-6 p.m. at the Captain Henderson House. The survivor art installation is free and open to the public, and viewers are cautioned that some may find the exhibitâs content disturbing

Phil Hardin, assistant to the president for administration emeritus at Ouachita, was honored with the Elrod Centerâs Community Service Excellence Award. Tiffany Lee crowned Miss OBU 2017 at 50th anniversary pageant
Ouachita Baptist University hosted the 50th anniversary of Miss Ouachita Baptist University on Saturday, Feb. 4. The pageant honored former Miss OBU title holders and crowned Tiffany Lee as the 2017 Miss Ouachita Baptist University.
âIâm really excited. I donât feel like itâs real yet, but it will hit me eventually,â Lee said. âI think this year is going to be very busy and a very humbling experience. I am so thankful.
Ouachita to host What Remains exhibit by Aaron Calvert Nov. 4-Dec. 2
Ouachita Baptist Universityâs Rosemary Adams Department of Visual Arts will host Aaron Calvert in a guest exhibit, âWhat Remains,â Nov. 4 through Dec. 2. The exhibit, which will be on display in Moses-Provine Hallâs Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery, is free and open to the public.
Calvert is professor of art and the director of the Russell Fine Arts Gallery at Henderson State University. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University and his Master of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania
