Modified Enskog equation for hard rods

We point out that Percus's collision integral for hard rods [J. K. Percus, Physics of Fluids 12, 1560-1563 (1969)] does not preserve the thermal equilibrium state in an external trapping potential. We derive a modified Enskog equation for hard rods and show that it preserves this thermal state exactly. In contrast to recent proposed kinetic equations for dynamics in integrability-breaking traps, both our kinetic equation and its thermal states are explicitly nonlocal in space. Our equation differs from earlier proposals at third order in spatial derivatives and we attribute this discrepancy to the molecular chaos assumption underlying our approach.Comment: v2: minor revisions and clarifications, 8+3 page

A clinical comparative study of preoperative clinical staging and surgical and histopathological staging in endometrial carcinoma

Background: Endometrial cancer is the fourth most common carcinoma in women across the globe. Treatment and prognosis are influenced by surgical international federation of gynecology and obstetrics staging system with evaluation of the depth of myometrium invasion, cervical extension and the presence of lymph node and distant metastasis. This study aims to compare the MRI findings in preoperative staging of endometrial carcinoma with intra-operative findings and revised international federation of gynecology and obstetrics staging based on postoperative histopathology. Methods: The study was prospectively carried out in department of obstetrics and gynecology of a Cama Hospital, Mumbai for a total period of 1.5 years; 30 patients diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma were selected. Results: The patients were predominantly multiparous with most common presenting complaint as postmenopausal bleeding. The clinical- radiological staging was concordant with histopathological staging in 60% (18/30) cases. Upstaging was seen in 10% (3/30 cases), while 30% (9/30) showed down staging in the final histopathology. While comparing the surgical intra-operative staging, it was seen to corroborate with the final histopathology in 63.33% (19/30) cases. Conclusions: The pre-operative radiological assessment especially MRI with high accuracy in determining myometrial invasion is an inseparable tool. The surgeon would have to rely on intra-operative assessment for further plan of action and effectively dealing with carcinoma

Solvable Hydrodynamics of Quantum Integrable Systems

The conventional theory of hydrodynamics describes the evolution in time of chaotic many-particle systems from local to global equilibrium. In a quantum integrable system, local equilibrium is characterized by a local generalized Gibbs ensemble or equivalently a local distribution of pseudo-momenta. We study time evolution from local equilibria in such models by solving a certain kinetic equation, the "Bethe-Boltzmann" equation satisfied by the local pseudo-momentum density. Explicit comparison with density matrix renormalization group time evolution of a thermal expansion in the XXZ model shows that hydrodynamical predictions from smooth initial conditions can be remarkably accurate, even for small system sizes. Solutions are also obtained in the Lieb-Liniger model for free expansion into vacuum and collisions between clouds of particles, which model experiments on ultracold one-dimensional Bose gases.Comment: 6+5 pages, published versio

Study of post-partum complications in a tertiary care centre

Background: The postpartum period, also known as the puerperium, begins immediately after delivery of the neonate and placenta and ends 6 weeks after delivery. it accounts for a number of complications seen and need a thorough assessment for maternal health management. Methods: Collection of data from post-natal mothers admitted in Cama and Albless hospital and arranging the data in excel sheets and studying the results through various tables and figures. Results: In the study conducted it was seen that the complications were higher after caesarean deliveries with 54.2%. The most common complication seen being pregnancy induced hypertension, followed by post-partum hemorrhage. The need for blood and blood product transfusions due to causes like post-partum hemorrhages, or anemia were also seen more after caesarean sections accounting for 38.6% transfusions of all. Conclusions: The rate of complication is higher in LSCS delivery compared to vaginal deliveries.

Labour outcomes in advanced maternal age

Background: Advanced maternal age has been traditionally defined as age >35 years at delivery, although some authors have used the age limits 40and even 44 years.Regardless of what is the cutoff for advanced maternal age, pregnancies in women aged >35 years are considered at risk of both obstetric complications and interventions. Methods: Study design: retrospective study. The present study is a type of research article which was conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Cama Hospital, Mumbai from October 2021 to January 2022, 50 postnatal mothers with age more than or equal to 35 were selected. Results: About 50 women participated in this study and most of them belonged between the age group of 30-35 years of age. Most of the women were multipara. Most of them had postpartum hemorrhage as the most common post-delivery complication. Conclusions: Early ANC registration, regular ANC visits and adequate intrapartum fetal surveillance is essential to prevent adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes in advanced maternal age.

Background: This is systematic review to identify and analyse the main factors affecting the antenatal care (ANC) admission in ANC ward. The main objective to study the ANC admission in hospital for women with different age group, gestational age, gravida status, pregnancy complications in terms of maternal and perinatal outcomes and to explore the factors contributing to the alarming situation. Methods: Total 50 women of reproductive age group admitted in ANC ward in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, CAMA and ALBESS Hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India from a period of January to December 2021.Results: The 50 women of reproductive age group admitted in ANC ward. Most of the subjects belong to age 21-25 is 16 (32%), most of primigravida were 29 (58%), according to gestational age, most of the patient belong 2nd trimester, approx. The 22 patient (44%), followed by 3rd trimester, approx. 21 (42%) and least are belong from 1st trimester are 7 (14%). Most of patients presented with vomiting, 9 out of 50 (18%), followed by pain in abdomen 8 out of 50 (16%). Out of total 50 patient, 44 patient are doing fine and stable, 2 patients are delivered. Two patients in bad condition are transferred to ICU department. Conclusions: There is need of proper ANC and need of intensive monitoring of mother throughout hospitalization to prevent complication related to maternal and foetal outcome
