Bus Fleet Management ā A Systematic Literature Review
The research on Bus Fleet Management (BFM) has undergone significant changes. It is unclear whether these changes are accepted as technological change or as a paradigm shift. Perhaps unintentionally, BFM is still perceived as routing and scheduling by some, and by others as maintenance and replacement strategy. Therefore, the authors conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to overview the existing concepts and school of thoughts about how stakeholders perceive the BFM. The SLR post-study exposed that BFM should be acknowledged as a multi-realm system rather than a uniform dimension of fulfilling timely service. Nonetheless, the work encapsulates BFM evolution which shows the need for the multi-realm research abstracted as "Bus Fleet Mobility Management" and "Bus Fleet Asset Management". The difficulties of transport agencies and their ability to switch from conventional to Zero-Emission Buses (ZEBs) illustrates why we propose such an agenda, by which the research is validated through needs both in academia and in practice
ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND GDP
Improving energy efficiency can be powerful tool for achieving sustainable economic development and most important for reducing energy consumption and environmental pollution on national level. Unfortunately, energy efficiency is difficult to conceptualize and there is no single commonly accepted definition. Because of that, measurement of achieved energy efficiency and its impact on national or regional economy is very complicated. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is often used to assess financial effects of applied energy efficiency measures at the national and regional levels. The growth in energy consumption per capita leads to a similar growth in GDP, but it is desirable to provide for the fall of these values. The paper analyzes some standard indicators and the analysis has been applied to a very large sample ensuring reliability for conclusion purposes. National parameters for 128 countries in the world in 2007 were analyzed. In addition to that, parameters were analyzed in the last years for global regions and Serbia
Comprehensive analysis of a straw-fired power plant in Vojvodina
In recent years, renewable energy sources have played an increasingly
important role in potential energy production. The integration of renewable
energy technologies into existing national energy system has therefore
become a major challenge for many countries. Due to the importance of this
matter, this paper deals with the comprehensive analysis for implementation
of a power plant on biomass (straw). The analysis is conducted regarding
several key indicators: availability of biomass, regulation, reduction of
greenhouse gas emissions, location, land use, electricity price and social
impacts. The analysis also includes favorable price for electricity produced
from biomass relevant to national feed in tariffs. In order to demonstrate
all above mentioned indicators, the region in Serbia (Province of Vojvodina)
with significant potential in biomass, especially in straw, is selected. The
results of the analysis are validated trough environmental and social
aspects. Special attention is given to identifying risks for this
application
Multi-criteria analysis as a support for national energy policy regarding the use of biomass: Case study of Serbia
Decision makers make decisions taking into account many different factors.
That is why different experiences, living standard and other ānon-technicalā
conditions may lead to different decisions in different countries, or even
regions of the same country. This paper deals with information gathered
through a survey made among experts already dealing with different aspects of
biomass use. Recognized factors influencing the wider use of biomass are
arranged in a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats)
matrix. This matrix is used as a base to gather the opinions of the experts
interviewed. Conclusions were made taking into account the most influential
factors on the decision making process in biomass use according to the
results. The questions of the survey were chosen according to existing
results, as well as based on the authorsā own experience and estimated
relevance to the situation of the country analyzed (Republic of Serbia). The
survey analysis covered the responses of 62 national experts in this field.
Based on the gathered data, a proper multi-criteria analysis was done using
the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and ANP (Analytic Network Process)
methods. Afterwards, recommendations and comments to the decision makers and
developers of national energy strategies are presented
Energy and economic effects of CHP with combined technologies of corn cobs gasification and gas turbines
This paper presents the performance and economic analysis of the gas turbine
with co-firing gas from corn cob gasification and natural gas. Adiabatic and
non-adiabatic expansion in the turbine is considered. The analysis is
performed parametrically with corn cob gasification gas and natural gas
ratio. The volumetric energy content of fuels with different share of gas
from the corn cob gasification therefore, with different calorific values, is
compared by means of the Wobbe Index. In energy and economic analyses, the
following configurations are dealt with: single manifold, dual manifold and
separate gas systems. [Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br.
