    Now, in this period characterized by serious financial crisis, with effects in all economy especially in the field of human resources, it requires that all businesses to gain a new perspective in the way to find new markets, new opportunities. The capacity of human resources manager to mobilize the creativity, energy and people's commitment can make the difference between survival or demise of a company. During the crisis, companies reassess their resources and redefine their performance. Today the basic words have become: responsibility, flexibility, performance and competence. In our opinion one of the solution for crisis is the strength of the team work. It' s proven that in calm periods, the attitude of an individual in a group is a distant one, while when a threat come from outside the group, the individual becomes instinctively closer to the other members, and appear the need to consolidate the team. Now, more than ever, people understand that the best that they can do is to be a team, to consider what can be build, strengthen and rebuild together. This paper work presents that recalibration of the performances is based on the concept of high performance team like a solution for crisis period. We give the arguments that the strength of the team work will make the difference between the companies.performance work teams; task roles; relationship roles; commitment; creative development.

    The internationalization Strategies of French Companies in Romania

    Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs) are currently attracting important flows of direct investments, after being closed to inflows of foreign capital before 1990. The governments of these countries have been multiplying measures and incentives for encouraging the presence of Multinational Companies (MNCs), during the past years. They are doing it because they consider this fact to represent an important growth vector. This current article will be focusing on Romanian situation. Statistical data indicate that Romania has attracted less foreign investments per inhabitant compared to the other countries in the region. Therefore, the article is aiming to analyze some of the strategies that are followed by companies intending to invest in foreign countries. We will analyze the strategic variables that have determined 62 French companies to invest and implant in Romania, based on the results of a specific survey we have conducted. The main conclusion is that the large majority of them were pursuing a “market seeking” strategy, and only a minority was pursuing a “search for resources” strategy.entry strategy, multinational company, Central and Eastern European countries, Romania

    AbstractCultural intelligence (CQ) is a relatively new concept, one that explains why certain individuals can adapt to different cultural contexts more efficiently than others. Using Earley & Ang's (2003) multidimensional concept as an analysis framework, this paper will study the intercultural intelligence among business students in Romania. We have chosen this research topic because we believe that the business students of today will become the global managers of tomorrow. Given that CQ is a multidimensional concept, this paper will analyze the answers for each of the four CQ dimensions, in order to identify which of the four capabilities is more or less developed among students. The final purpose is to understand the CQ components on which higher education should focus more. We wish to find educational solutions adapted to the actual needs of business graduates

    L'intelligence culturelle (IC) est un concept assez nouveau, qui décrit la capacité d'un individu à agir efficacement dans différents contextes culturels. Ce concept est apparu comme une nécessité, déterminée par le fait qu’au cours des 20 dernières années, le nombre de personnes qui entrent en contact direct avec d'autres cultures a considérablement augmenté (Eisenberg et al., 2013). En prenant comme cadre d’analyse le concept quadridimensionnel de l’IC, proposé par Earley et Ang (2003), notre étude analyse le profil de l’IC des étudiants de deux pays, La Roumanie et le Maroc. Les données (N =362) pour cette étude ont été recueillies à l'aide de questionnaires administrés aux étudiants en économie et gestion, en Roumanie et au Maroc. Le but de l'étude est de réaliser le profil de l’IC des étudiants et d'identifier les différences et les similarités significatives entre les deux groupes, en tenant compte des études récentes indiquant que l’IC varie d'un pays à l'autre (Alon et al, 2016)

    Alcohol Use and Trauma Exposure Among Male and Female Veterans Before, During, and After Military Service

    Background: The present study examined lifespan and combat-related trauma exposure as predictors of alcohol use among male and female veterans. Posttraumatic stress and depressive symptoms were examined as mediators of the effects of trauma exposure on alcohol use. Methods: Data were examined from 1825 (1450 male, 375 female) veterans and active duty service members who took part in a multi-site research study conducted through the Department of Veterans Affairs Mid-Atlantic Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center (VISN 6 MIRECC). Results: For both men and women, depressive symptoms significantly mediated the effects of non-combat trauma exposure experienced before, during and after the military, as well as combat-exposure, on alcohol use. With posttraumatic stress symptoms, the models for men and women differed. For men, the effects of non-combat trauma exposure during and after military service, and combat exposure, on alcohol use were mediated by PTSD symptoms; however, for women, PTSD symptoms did not mediate these relationships. Conclusion: Findings are discussed in the context of potential gender differences in response to trauma such as use of alcohol to cope with traumatic events

    Self-Reported Pain in Male and Female Iraq/Afghanistan-Era Veterans: Associations with Psychiatric Symptoms and Functioning

    Objective. To examine pain symptoms and co-occurring psychiatric and functional indices in male and female Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans. Design. Self-reported data collection and interviews of Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans who participated in a multisite study of postdeployment mental health. Setting. Veterans were enrolled at one of four participating VA sites. Subjects. Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven male and 662 female Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans. Methods. Nonparametric Wilcoxon rank tests examined differences in pain scores between male and female veterans. Chi-square tests assessed differences between male and female veterans in the proportion of respondents endorsing moderate to high levels of pain vs no pain. Multilevel regression analyses evaluated the effect of pain on a variety of psychiatric and functional measures. Results. Compared with males, female veterans reported significantly higher mean levels of headache (P \u3c 0.0001), muscle soreness (P \u3c 0.008), and total pain (P \u3c 0.0001), and were more likely to report the highest levels of headache (P \u3c 0.0001) and muscle soreness (P \u3c 0.0039). The presence of pain symptoms in Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans was positively associated with psychiatric comorbidity and negatively associated with psychosocial functioning. There were no observed gender differences in psychiatric and functional indices when levels of pain were equated. Conclusions. Although female Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans reported higher levels of pain than male veterans overall, male and female veterans experienced similar levels of psychiatric and functional problems at equivalent levels of reported pain. These findings suggest that pain-associated psychological and functional impacts are comparable and consequential for both male and female veterans

    The factor structure of psychiatric comorbidity among Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans and its relationship to violence, incarceration, suicide attempts, and suicidality

    The present research examined how incarceration, suicide attempts, suicidality, and difficulty controlling violence relate to the underlying factor structure of psychiatric comorbidity among a large sample of Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans (N = 1897). Diagnostic interviews established psychiatric diagnoses; self-report measures assessed history of incarceration, difficulty controlling violence, suicide attempts, and suicidality. A 3-factor measurement model characterized by latent factors for externalizing-substance-use disorders (SUD), distress, and fear provided excellent fit to the data. Alcohol-use disorder, drug-use disorder, and nicotine dependence were indicators on the externalizing-SUD factor. Posttraumatic stress disorder and depression were indicators on the distress factor. Panic disorder, social phobia, specific phobia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder were indicators on the fear factor. Incarceration was exclusively predicted by the externalizing-SUD factor. Difficulty controlling violence, suicidality, and suicide attempts were exclusively predicted by the distress factor. Contrary to hypotheses, the path from the externalizing/SUD factor to difficulty controlling violence was not significant. Taken together, these findings suggest that the distress factor of psychiatric comorbidity is a significant risk factor for suicidality, suicide attempts, and difficulty controlling violence and could help to explain the frequent co-occurrence of these critical outcomes among returning Iraq/Afghanistan veterans
