Affine actions on non-archimedean trees
We initiate the study of affine actions of groups on -trees for a
general ordered abelian group ; these are actions by dilations rather
than isometries. This gives a common generalisation of isometric action on a
-tree, and affine action on an -tree as studied by I. Liousse. The
duality between based length functions and actions on -trees is
generalised to this setting. We are led to consider a new class of groups:
those that admit a free affine action on a -tree for some .
Examples of such groups are presented, including soluble Baumslag-Solitar

Critical Micronutrients in Pregnancy, Lactation, and Infancy: Considerations on Vitamin D, Folic Acid, and Iron, and Priorities for Future Research
The Early Nutrition Academy and the European Commission-funded EURRECA Network of Excellence jointly sponsored a scientific workshop on critical micronutrients in pregnancy, lactation, and infancy. Current knowledge and unresolved questions on the supply of vitamin D, folic acid, and iron for pregnant women, lactating women, and infants, and their health effects were discussed. The question was addressed of whether, and under which circumstances, supplementation with these micronutrients in addition to usual dietary intakes is advisable. The workshop participants concluded that public health strategies for improving supplementation with these micronutrients in pregnancy, lactation, and infancy are required. Further research priorities should focus on adequately powered human intervention trials to obtain a stronger evidence base for the amounts of vitamin D, folic acid, and iron that have optimal effects on health. Measurements of the Generalized Electric and Magnetic Polarizabilities of the Proton at Low Q2 Using the VCS Reaction
The mean square polarizability radii of the proton have been measured for the
first time in a virtual Compton scattering experiment performed at the
MIT-Bates out-of-plane scattering facility. Response functions and
polarizabilities obtained from a dispersion analysis of the data at Q2=0.06
GeV2/c2 are in agreement with O(p3) heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory.
The data support the dominance of mesonic effects in the polarizabilities, and
the increase of beta with increasing Q2 is evidence for the cancellation of
long-range diamagnetism by short-range paramagnetism from the pion cloud
Measurements of the \gamma * p --> \Delta(1232) reaction at low Q2
We report new p measurements in the
resonance at the low momentum transfer region utilizing the
magnetic spectrometers of the A1 Collaboration at MAMI. The mesonic cloud
dynamics are predicted to be dominant and appreciably changing in this region
while the momentum transfer is sufficiently low to be able to test chiral
effective calculations. The results disagree with predictions of constituent
quark models and are in reasonable agreement with dynamical calculations with
pion cloud effects, chiral effective field theory and lattice calculations. The
reported measurements suggest that improvement is required to the theoretical
calculations and provide valuable input that will allow their refinements
Investigation of the conjectured nucleon deformation at low momentum transfer
We report new precise H measurements at the
resonance at (GeV/c) using the MIT/Bates
out-of-plane scattering (OOPS) facility. The data reported here are
particularly sensitive to the transverse electric amplitude () of the
transition. Analyzed together with previous data yield
precise quadrupole to dipole amplitude ratios and and
for . They give credence to the conjecture of
deformation in hadronic systems favoring, at low , the dominance of

Measurement of the Partial Cross Sections s(TT), s(LT) and [s(T)+epsilon*s(L)] of the p(e,e' pi+)n Reaction in the Delta(1232) Resonance
We report new precision p(e,e' pi+})n measurements in the Delta(1232)
resonance at Q2 = 0.127(GeV/c)2 obtained at the MIT-Bates Out-Of-Plane
scattering facility. These are the lowest, but non-zero, Q2 measurements in the
pi+ channel. The data offer new tests of the theoretical calculations,
particularly of the background amplitude contributions. The chiral effective
field theory and Sato-Lee model calculations are not in agreement with this
experiment
Lowest Q^2 Measurement of the gamma*p -> Delta Reaction: Probing the Pionic Contribution
To determine nonspherical angular momentum amplitudes in hadrons at long
ranges (low Q^2), data were taken for the p(\vec{e},e'p)\pi^0 reaction in the
Delta region at Q^2=0.060 (GeV/c)^2 utilizing the magnetic spectrometers of the
A1 Collaboration at MAMI. The results for the dominant transition magnetic
dipole amplitude and the quadrupole to dipole ratios at W=1232 MeV are:
M_{1+}^{3/2} = (40.33 +/- 0.63_{stat+syst} +/- 0.61_{model})
(10^{-3}/m_{\pi^+}),Re(E_{1+}^{3/2}/M_{1+}^{3/2}) = (-2.28 +/- 0.29_{stat+syst}
+/- 0.20_{model})%, and Re(S_{1+}^{3/2}/M_{1+}^{3/2}) = (-4.81 +/-
0.27_{stat+syst} +/- 0.26_{model})%. These disagree with predictions of
constituent quark models but are in reasonable agreement with lattice
calculations with non-linear (chiral) pion mass extrapolations, with chiral
effective field theory, and with dynamical models with pion cloud effects.
These results confirm the dominance, and general Q^2 variation, of the pionic

Transmural Remission Improves Clinical Outcomes Up to 5 years in Crohn's Disease
Introduction: Evidence supporting transmural remission (TR) as a long-term treatment target in Crohn's disease (CD) is still unavailable. Less stringent but more reachable targets such as isolated endoscopic (IER) or radiologic remission (IRR) may also be acceptable options in the long-term.
Methods: Multicenter retrospective study including 404 CD patients evaluated by magnetic resonance enterography and colonoscopy. Five-year rates of hospitalization, surgery, use of steroids, and treatment escalation were compared between patients with TR, IER, IRR, and no remission (NR).
Results: 20.8% of CD patients presented TR, 23.3% IER, 13.6% IRR and 42.3% NR. TR was associated with lower risk of hospitalization (odds-ratio [OR] 0.244 [0.111-0.538], p < 0.001), surgery (OR 0.132 [0.030-0.585], p = 0.008), steroid use (OR 0.283 [0.159-0.505], p < 0.001), and treatment escalation (OR 0.088 [0.044-0.176], p < 0.001) compared to no NR. IRR resulted in lower risk of hospitalization (OR 0.333 [0.143-0.777], p = 0.011) and treatment escalation (OR 0.260 [0.125-0.540], p < 0.001), while IER reduced the risk of steroid use (OR 0.442 [0.262-0.745], p = 0.002) and treatment escalation (OR 0.490 [0.259-0.925], p = 0.028) compared to NR.
Conclusions: TR improved clinical outcomes over 5 years of follow-up in CD patients. Distinct but significant benefits were seen with IER and IRR. This suggests that both endoscopic and radiologic remission should be part of the treatment targets of CD.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Tensor Analyzing Powers for Quasi-Elastic Electron Scattering from Deuterium
We report on a first measurement of tensor analyzing powers in quasi-elastic
electron-deuteron scattering at an average three-momentum transfer of 1.7
fm. Data sensitive to the spin-dependent nucleon density in the deuteron
were obtained for missing momenta up to 150 MeV/ with a tensor polarized
H target internal to an electron storage ring. The data are well described
by a calculation that includes the effects of final-state interaction,
meson-exchange and isobar currents, and leading-order relativistic

Role of Rituximab Addition to First-line Chemotherapy Regimens in Nodular Lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma: A Study by Fondazione Italiana Linfomi
Nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL) is a rare entity whose neoplastic cells retain a B-cell phenotype with expression of CD20. Radiotherapy is recommended for favorable stage IA disease while for other stages guidelines suggest therapeutic strategies similar to those used for classic HL. The role of rituximab, although quite widespread, is not completely elucidated. We retrospectively analyzed baseline characteristics of 308 consecutive patients with NLPHL diagnosed in 19 Italian centers from 2000 to 2018. With a median follow-up of 8.4 years (interquartile range: 4.5-12.4) for treated patients, median overall survival (OS) was not reached and estimated 5-year OS was 97.8% and 5-year progression-free survival (PFS) was 84.5%. Five-year cumulative incidence of histological transformation was 1.4%, 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.5%-3.8%. After adjusting for lymphocyte count, splenic involvement, bulky disease and B symptoms (fever, drenching night sweats, unintentional loss >10% of body weight within the preceding 6 months), patients with stage II or more showed superior PFS with immunochemotherapy in comparison to chemotherapy alone (hazard ratio = 0.4, 95% CI, 0.2-0.8; P = 0.015). Our data suggest an advantage of the use of rituximab combined with chemotherapy ± radiotherapy in the treatment of stage II-III-IV NLPHL
