Repensando a educação integral : desafios e possibilidades
Orientador: Profa. Dra. Abstract : Integral Education is mentioned in the Pedagogical Political Project of different educational institutions, especially when they point out the concern with the integral development of their students not only in the physical and intellectual aspects, but also when considering, among others, emotional and psychological factors. It is concluded that the possibility of integral education in facing the challenges that are imposed in contemporary society depends on the coherence and articulation of an integrative and human proposal, with a methodology that considers in a critical and lasting way cognitive and affective, environmental, social and cultural broader in their proposition
anteriores.
This work aims at analysing the political project “Discurso sobre as formas de governo
após a morte do jovem Lorenzo de Médici”, written by Niccolò Machiavelli. Through
reading this text and comparing it with author’s previous works, it is aimed to identify the
institutional changes proposed by the author and, by contrasting the text against the book
entitled “Discorsi” (by the same author), both their similarities and differences are to be
assessed. In the subjected booklet, Machiavelli manifests continuity in his republican bias
and all of its interlacement with Machiavelli’s political theory – despite his interlocutors
being the city commanders, arising from the House of Medici. The political project hereby
analysed outlines the history of Florence and, by dissecting its deficiencies, it seeks to
overcome weaknesses of previous forms of government. Furthermore, the author
describes the Florentine people, with the purpose of stablishing a government that is better
suited to the aspects of the city. Finally, it will be assessed how the political project fits
the context in which it was written, with its nuances and seeming contradictions
A Potent and Selective S1P1 Antagonist with Efficacy in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis
SummaryLymphocyte trafficking is critically regulated by the Sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor-1 (S1P1), a G protein-coupled receptor that has been highlighted as a promising therapeutic target in autoimmunity. Fingolimod (FTY720, Gilenya) is a S1P1 receptor agonist that has recently been approved for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). Here, we report the discovery of NIBR-0213, a potent and selective S1P1 antagonist that induces long-lasting reduction of peripheral blood lymphocyte counts after oral dosing. NIBR-0213 showed comparable therapeutic efficacy to fingolimod in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a model of human MS. These data provide convincing evidence that S1P1 antagonists are effective in EAE. In addition, the profile of NIBR-0213 makes it an attractive candidate to further study the consequences of S1P1 receptor antagonism and to differentiate the effects from those of S1P1 agonists
