Universally acknowledged as Ireland’s preeminent female poet, Eavan Boland recasts woman’s image, calling on them in histories and houses and suburbia. Born in Dublin, Ireland she has published seven books of poetry: Outside History, New Territory, The War Horse, In Her own Image, Night Feed, The Journey, and most recently, In a Time of Violence. She has taught at Trinity College, University College and Bowdoin College, and was a member of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. Boland lives in Dublin with her husband and two daughters
