BaWO4:Ce Single Crystals Codoped with Na Ions

Single crystals of BaWO4, BaWO4:0.5at.%Ce; BaWO4:1at.%Ce; BaWO4:0.5at.%Ce,1at.%Na; and BaWO4:1at.%Ce,2at.%Na were grown from an inductively heated iridium crucible by the Czochralski method on a Malvern MSR4 puller. They were investigated using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy at helium temperatures. One isolated center of high (D2d or S4) symmetry was found and two or more other centers of lower symmetry were identified, depending on crystal doping. From the fitting using the EPR-NMR program, the following parameters of g-matrix for the high symmetry center were found: gx = 1.505, gy = 1.505, and gz = 2.731. The linewidth vs. temperature revealed an increasing exponential tendency with increasing temperature. It showed one phonon at the lower temperatures and a Raman + Orbach effect at the higher temperatures. Radioluminescence and pulse height spectra showed rather poor scintillation properties, without any contribution from cerium emission

The hydrological model and formula for determining the hypothetical flood wave volume in non-gauged basins

Determination of theoretical flood waves, commonly known as hypothetical waves, is still a difficult problem to be solved. Most frequently hydrological modelling is used for this purpose. However, there are no methods for verifying the obtained calculation results. The assumption applied, that daily precipitation with a defined height difference probability triggers off a theoretical wave with the same probability of excess, was verified in four upland basins whose river mouths are located within Kraków metropolitan area. It was proved that in order to meet the assumption made, it is necessary for the precipitation duration, with defined height difference probability, to last 48 hours, because for daily precipitation the volume of calculated theoretical flood wave is too small. During the calculations, the hydrological model was used, as was the formula for flood wave volume determination for the area of Upper Vistula River, as developed by the main author of the publication. The relative error of the reduced volumes in relation to the volumes calculated with the Kraków method for theoretical flood waves, was lower than 30% in any case. Therefore, it can be acknowledged that the suggested method may be used for determining theoretical flood waves in any cross-section for the non-gauged catchment with a surface not exceeding 400 km2

Nie ulega wątpliwości, że w przypadku skał o zwięzłości powyżej 20 MPa (m.in. wapieni, dolomitów, piaskowców, margli, trawertynu itp.) najniższe koszty jednostkowe wyrażone w zł/Mg osiąga się stosując technikę strzelniczą. Jednakże w przypadku skał, których nie można zakwalifikować do tych grup, mogą pojawić się pewne trudności co do doboru metody ich urabiania. Do takich skał zaliczyć można średniozwięzłe skały osadowe lub metamorficzne, które są stosunkowo niezwięzłe, aby stosować urabianie materiałami wybuchowymi, ale zbyt zwięzłe dla koparek jednonaczyniowych. Do urabiania takich skał wykorzystać można także osprzęt zrywakowy, mocowany na spycharkach gąsienicowych, które w ostatnich latach stają się poważną alternatywą dla urabiania metodami techniki strzelniczej.In a global scale opencast mining mechanical ravelly rock mining by dozer ripper is commonly used. These rocks include the half-solid sedimentary or metamorphic rocks, which are relatively to few concise to use mining of explosives, but too consise for single-bucket excavators. To mining of such rocks can be used ripper accessories, mounted on crawler dozers, which in recent years have become a serious alternative mining methods to blasting techniques

Classification states in the technical operating of haul trucks in surface mining

W artykule przedstawiono sposób klasyfikacji stanów eksploatacyjnych w procesie użytkowania wozideł technologicznych w górnictwie odkrywkowym. Zdefiniowano klasyfikację stanów technicznych i eksploatacyjnych w procesie użytkowania i obsługiwania maszyn. Za podstawę typologii przyjęto czasy trwania wyspecyfikowanych stanów eksploatacyjnych. Dla stanu zdatności i niezdatności pojazdów określono odpowiednie zbiory stanów eksploatacyjnych. Dla najważniejszych składowych czasowych stanów eksploatacyjnych wykonano analizy na przykładzie parku użytkowanych wozideł w kopalni wapienia. Stany eksploatacyjne zdefiniowano jako opisowy atrybut określający fazę procesu eksploatacji, czyli fazę użytkowania lub obsługiwania maszyny. Wyspecyfikowanie stanów technicznych i eksploatacyjnych w procesie użytkowania parku wozideł technologicznych w górnictwie odkrywkowym pozwala na miarodajną ocenę eksploatacyjną wozideł technologicznych. Jest to możliwe dzięki zastosowaniu systemów telemetryczno-diagnostycznych w użytkowanych maszynach.The paper presents differences between technical states and technical operation states of haul trucks in the technical operation process. The specification and analysis of operational parameters of technological vehicles used in surface mining is possible only due to more and more frequently used diagnostic – telemetric systems. While a detailed analysis of machines operation data can result in the more effective management of mining plant operations and the mining process itself. The determination of operational state indices and their individual components allows preventive actions to be commenced, resulting in improving the work organization of the entire mine machinery system. Moreover, the future technical state of machines operated in surface mining is strictly related to the current state and also depends on the events that occurred in the extraction system. A set of parameter values of individual state characteristics, which allow the haul trucks technical and operational state to be characterized, is a direct effect of a telemetric – diagnostic system operation

Do najbardziej istotnych problemów związanych z uszkadzalnością osprzętu zrywającego należy zaliczyć przyśpieszone zużycie i uszkadzanie zmęczeniowe zębów zrywających, niewłaściwe sterowanie ciągnikiem gąsienicowym powodujące degradację osprzętu, niewłaściwe wykonanie cyklu roboczego osprzętem zrywakowym, prowadzenie zrywania w ośrodkach wyjątkowo trudno urabialnych.The surface mining of rocks and coal requires drilling and blasting operation for loosening the strata. The article reviews alternative method of rocks mining with compressive strength material about 20 MPa by ripping. Different studies have come up with developments like ripper - dozer combination with operating and performance requirements of this equipment. But before deploying rippers in mines, proper rippability assessment of the strata should be done. There are different parameters on which rippability of rocks depend on. Analysis of operating states of haul trucks used in surface mining

Mining transport system based on the use of haul trucks should result from thorough analysis of technical and operating issues – which can have a crucial impact on the cost of minerals extraction. This selection should consider hitherto disregarded criteria, such as technical infallibility, operating parameters like mean operating time between failures (MTBF), mean failure intensity and fault modes and effect analysis etc. Considering the above issues, the following article is an attempt to analyse operating parameters of transport fleet of haul trucks for mineral resource in surface mining. The MTBF index is a basic parameter helpful to determine dependability and can be used for logistic planning, in particular in the field of spare parts. This index allows determining the cost of object use throughout its entire life cycle

Characteristics of the dozer chassis and track-type undercarriage used in surface mining

Podwozie gąsienicowe wpływa na, w przybliżeniu, równomierne rozłożenie masy maszyny na dużej powierzchni (zmniejszenie nacisku na grunt), umożliwiając poruszanie się spycharki niemal w każdych warunkach terenowych. Dobór odpowiedniego rodzaju podwozia jest bardzo istotny ze względu na osiągnięcie planowanej wydajności i odpowiednio długiego okresu eksploatacji podwozia.
