La recherche archéologique sur le site de l’oppidum de La Cheppe s’inscrit dans la continuité de la prospection-inventaire menée depuisw 2009 et d’une première opération de sondage réalisée enw 2015. L’activité de l’annéew 2016 a été entièrement consacrée au sondage archéologique programmé qui s’est déroulé du 7 au 15w août et a concerné une surface en « L » de 604 m2 au cœur de l’oppidum. The more the merrier? Assessing the impact of enlargement on European energy and climate change policies

This article examines the impact of enlargement on European Union performance in energy and climate change policies. It looks at process-driven performance, focusing on agenda-setting, negotiation dynamics and institutional change – as well as outcome-driven performance, looking at the ambitiousness of policy objectives and their implementation. The empirical analysis is based on qualitative, comparative case studies of EU climate change and energy security policies. The article shows that enlargement has had a nuanced but contrasted impact on the two areas. It also points to the recent assertiveness of Central and Eastern European Countries in both energy security and climate policy

Rattraper ou devancer l’Europe? Politiques françaises des énergies renouvelables et dynamiques d’européanisation

La France a échoué de façon répétée à atteindre ses objectifs européens en matière de consommation d’électricité d’origine renouvelable. Quant au rapide développement des agrocarburants, il tient d’abord au poids et à l’influence du secteur agricole domestique. Cela ne signifie pas pour autant que la construction européenne a été sans influence sur les politiques françaises de soutien aux énergies renouvelables, mais pas nécessairement sur un mode hiérarchique. Afin de rendre compte des interactions entre politiques françaises et européennes, cet article s’inscrit dans une approche de sociologie politique attentive à la diversité des pratiques et « usages de l’Europe », en explorant les dynamiques verticales et horizontales de l’européanisation. France has repeatedly failed to reach its European objectives in terms of renewable electricity consumption. As for the rapid growth of biofuels, it results mainly from the weight and influence of the domestic agriculture sector. Yet, this does not mean that the European integration process has had no influence on French renewable energy policies, although not necessarily in a top-down fashion. In order to account for the interactions between French and European policies, this paper develops an approach centered on the practices and usages of Europe, and explores vertical and horizontal dynamics of Europeanization

Characterizing heralded single-photon sources with imperfect measurement devices

Any characterization of a single-photon source is not complete without specifying its second-order degree of coherence, i.e., its $g^{(2)}$ function. An accurate measurement of such coherence functions commonly requires high-precision single-photon detectors, in whose absence, only time-averaged measurements are possible. It is not clear, however, how the resulting time-averaged quantities can be used to properly characterize the source. In this paper, we investigate this issue for a heralded source of single photons that relies on continuous-wave parametric down-conversion. By accounting for major shortcomings of the source and the detectors--i.e., the multiple-photon emissions of the source, the time resolution of photodetectors, and our chosen width of coincidence window--our theory enables us to infer the true source properties from imperfect measurements. Our theoretical results are corroborated by an experimental demonstration using a PPKTP crystal pumped by a blue laser, that results in a single-photon generation rate about 1.2 millions per second per milliwatt of pump power. Separation of neutral and charge modes in one dimensional chiral edge channels

Coulomb interactions have a major role in one-dimensional electronic transport. They modify the nature of the elementary excitations from Landau quasiparticles in higher dimensions to collective excitations in one dimension. Here we report the direct observation of the collective neutral and charge modes of the two chiral co-propagating edge channels of opposite spins of the quantum Hall effect at filling factor 2. Generating a charge density wave at frequency f in the outer channel, we measure the current induced by inter-channel Coulomb interaction in the inner channel after a 3-mm propagation length. Varying the driving frequency from 0.7 to 11 GHz, we observe damped oscillations in the induced current that result from the phase shift between the fast charge and slow neutral eigenmodes. We measure the dispersion relation and dissipation of the neutral mode from which we deduce quantitative information on the interaction range and parameters.Comment: 23 pages, 6 figure
