    Optimization of Process Parameters of Stamping Forming of the Automotive Lower Floor Board

    There are many process parameters which have great effect on the forming quality of parts during automobile panel stamping forming process. This paper took automotive lower floor board as the research object; the forming process was analyzed by finite element simulation using Dynaform. The influences of four main process parameters including BHF (blank holder force), die corner radius, friction coefficient, and die clearance on the maximum thinning rate and the maximum thickening rate were researched based on orthogonal experiment. The results show that the influences of each value of various factors on the target are not identical. On this basis, the optimization of the four parameters was carried out, and the high quality product was obtained and the maximum thinning rate and maximum thickening rate were effectively controlled. The results also show that the simulation analysis provides the basis for the optimization of the forming process parameters, and it can greatly shorten the die manufacturing cycles, reduce the production costs, and improve the production efficiency

    Study on Roadheader Cutting Load at Different Properties of Coal and Rock

    The mechanism of cutting process of roadheader with cutting head was researched, and the influences of properties of coal and rock on cutting load were deeply analyzed. Aimed at the defects of traditional calculation method of cutting load on fully expressing the complex cutting process of cutting head, the method of finite element simulation was proposed to simulate the dynamic cutting process. Aimed at the characteristics of coal and rock which affect the cutting load, several simulations with different firmness coefficient were taken repeatedly, and the relationship between three-axis force and firmness coefficient was derived. A comparative analysis of cutting pick load between simulation results and theoretical formula was carried out, and a consistency was achieved. Then cutting process with a total cutting head was carried out on this basis. The results show that the simulation analysis not only provides a reliable guarantee for the accurate calculation of the cutting head load and improves the efficiency of the cutting head cutting test but also offers a basis for selection of cutting head with different geological conditions of coal or rock

    Optimization design for roadheader cutting head by orthogonal experiment and finite element analysis

    U radu se istražuje optimizacija konstrukcije rezne glave stroja za bušenje. U tu su svrhu kao varijable optimizacije izabrani brzina rotacije, brzina oscilacije, rezni kutovi pijuka i kutovi nagiba pijuka, a kao ciljevi optimizacije izabrani su srednja vrijednost rezultirajuće sile i koeficijent varijacije reznog opterećenja. Učinci ovih parametara na indekse evaluacije analiziraju se ortogonalnim eksperimentom i analizom konačnih elemenata. Također je provedena analiza promjene trenda indeksa evaluacije s promjenama eksperimentalnih čimbenika. U usporedbi s originalnim projektom, dva indeksa evaluacije smanjila su se za 18,3 % i 5,5 % nakon optimizacije, čime je značajno poboljšana rezna performansa rezne glave stroja za bušenje.Optimization design for roadheader cutting head is investigated in this paper. For this purpose, the rotation velocity, the swing velocity, the cutting angles of picks, and the inclination angles of picks are chosen as the variable for the optimization, and the mean value of resultant force and variation coefficient of cutting load are chosen as optimization objective. The effects of these parameters on evaluation indexes are studied by orthogonal experiment and finite element analysis. The change trend of the evaluation indexes with the experimental factors is also carried out. Compared with the original design, the two evaluation indexes decreased by 18,3 % and 5,5 % after optimization design separately, which improves the cutting performance of roadheader cutting head efficiently

    District Fiscal Policy and Student Achievement

    School restructuring raises questions about the role of school districts in improving student learning. Centralization by state governments and decentralization to individual schools as proposed in systemic reform leave districts' role unsettled. Empirical research on the district role in the context of ongoing reform is inadequate. This analysis of combined data from the NAEP and the Common Core of Data (CCD) was intended to address the issue. We analyzed 1990, 1992, and 1996 NAEP 8th grade mathematics national assessment data in combination with CCD data of corresponding years to examine the extent to which student achievement was related to districts' control over instructional expenditure, adjusting for relevant key factors at both district and student levels. Upon sample modification, we used hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) to estimate the relationships of student achievement to two district fiscal policy indictors, current expenditure per pupil (CEPP) and districts' discretionary rates for instructional expenditure (DDR). Net of relevant district factors, DDR was found unrelated to districts' average 8th grade math performance. The null effect was consistent in the analysis of the combined NAEP-CCD data for 1990, 1992, and 1996. In contrast, CEPP was found related to higher math performance in a modest yet fairly consistent way. Future research may be productive to separately study individual states and integrate the findings onto the national level

    Semiparametric Bayesian approaches to joinpoint regression for population-based cancer survival data

    According to the American Cancer Society report (1999), cancer surpasses heart disease as the leading cause of death in the United States of America (USA) for people of age less than 85. Thus, medical research in cancer is an important public health interest. Understanding how medical improvements are affecting cancer incidence, mortality and survival is critical for effective cancer control. In this paper, we study the cancer survival trend on the population level cancer data. In particular, we develop a parametric Bayesian joinpoint regression model based on a Poisson distribution for the relative survival. To avoid identifying the cause of death, we only conduct analysis based on the relative survival. The method is further extended to the semiparametric Bayesian joinpoint regression models wherein the parametric distributional assumptions of the joinpoint regression models are relaxed by modeling the distribution of regression slopes using Dirichlet process mixtures. We also consider the effect of adding covariates of interest in the joinpoint model. Three model selection criteria, namely, the conditional predictive ordinate (CPO), the expected predictive deviance (EPD), and the deviance information criteria (DIC), are used to select the number of joinpoints. We analyze the grouped survival data for distant testicular cancer from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program using these Bayesian models.

    Large multicohort study reveals a prostate cancer susceptibility allele at 5p15 regulating TERT via androgen signaling-orchestrated chromatin binding of E2F1 and MYC

    Abstract Aberrant telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) expression is crucial for tumor survival and cancer cells escaping apoptosis. Multiple TERT-locus variants at 5p15 have been discovered in association with cancer risk, yet the underlying mechanisms and clinical impacts remain unclear. Here, our association studies showed that the TERT promoter variant rs2853669 confers a risk of prostate cancer (PCa) in different ethnic groups. Further functional investigation revealed that the allele-specific binding of MYC and E2F1 at TERT promoter variant rs2853669 associates with elevated level of TERT in PCa. Mechanistically, androgen stimulations promoted the binding of MYC to allele T of rs2853669, thereby activating TERT, whereas hormone deprivations enhanced E2F1 binding at allele C of rs2853669, thus upregulating TERT expression. Notably, E2F1 could cooperate with AR signaling to regulate MYC expression. Clinical data demonstrated synergistic effects of MYC/E2F1/TERT expression or with the TT and CC genotype of rs2853669 on PCa prognosis and severity. Strikingly, single-nucleotide editing assays showed that the CC genotype of rs2853669 obviously promotes epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the development of castration-resistant PCa (CRPC), confirmed by unbiased global transcriptome profiling. Our findings thus provided compelling evidence for understanding the roles of noncoding variations coordinated with androgen signaling and oncogenic transcription factors in mis-regulating TERT expression and driving PCa
