Review of Published Chain Information System Research

    Get PDF
This paper provides a review of the literature on chains and networks that examine inter-organisational information systems used to manage chains of organisations. Difficulty was found in finding out how organisations exchanged information to manage relationships with customers and suppliers in chains. Most research publications found were based on case studies and few looked at chains of three or more organisations. Substantial research over a greater time period was found on dyadic buyer-seller inter-organisational relationships (companies and either their customers or suppliers). Conclusions are made about how to describe inter-organisational information systems and suggestions for empirical chain research using comparative pairs for data collection and analysis

Évaluation des températures de rotation et de vibration à partir du spectre d'émission A/sup 2/ Delta -X/sup 2/ Pi de la molécule CH

An emission spectrum of the CH radical at 430 nm composed of three oscillation (0,0), (1,1) and (2,2) bands of the A/sup 2/ Delta -X/sup 2/ Pi transition is studied in order to diagnose the high temperature media containing hydrocarbons. The spectrum is simulated for the different vibrational T/sub v/ and rotational T/sub r/ temperatures ranging from 2000 to 8000 K and compared to the spectrum recorded from an argon-methane plasm

A dynamic product flow model for a mixed ecological farm - an ICT application for ecological agriculture

Specialised farming systems, which focus on producing one or few products, are characterised by high productivity but also by high amounts of detrimental emissions and low quality residual products that makes them unsustainable. Mixed ecological farming systems, which focus on several products, are characterised by processes with cyclic product flows and low levels of detrimental emissions that makes them more sustainable. In this article, a model is introduced that provides a tool for developing and managing sustainability at mixed ecological farms. This will be done from a quality assurance perspective. The core of the model is the process informatics layer that connects business control and process control. This approach structures and generates data from business processes and physical processes and in this way acts as a decision-making platform or learning environment. The model can form a basis for an operational or tactical decision-support syste

Peroxiredoxin 4, a novel circulating biomarker for oxidative stress and the risk of incident cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality

BACKGROUND: Oxidative stress has been suggested to play a key role in the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The aim of our study was to investigate the associations of serum peroxiredoxin 4 (Prx4), a hydrogen peroxide-degrading peroxidase, with incident CVD and all-cause mortality. We subsequently examined the incremental value of Prx4 for the risk prediction of CVD compared with the Framingham risk score (FRS). METHODS AND RESULTS: We performed Cox regression analyses in 8141 participants without history of CVD (aged 28 to 75 years; women 52.6%) from the Prevention of Renal and Vascular End-stage Disease (PREVEND) study in Groningen, The Netherlands. Serum Prx4 was measured by an immunoluminometric assay in baseline samples. Main outcomes were: (1) incident CVD events or CVD mortality and (2) all-cause mortality during a median follow-up of 10.5 years. In total, 708 participants (7.8%) developed CVD events or CVD mortality, and 517 participants (6.3%) died. Baseline serum Prx4 levels were significantly higher in participants with incident CVD events or CVD mortality and in those who died than in participants who remained free of outcomes (both P<0.001). In multivariable models with adjustment for Framingham risk factors, hazard ratios were 1.16 (95% CI 1.06 to 1.27, P<0.001) for incident CVD events or CVD mortality and 1.17 (95% CI 1.06 to 1.29, P=0.003) for all-cause mortality per doubling of Prx4 levels. After the addition of Prx4 to the FRS, the net reclassification improvement was 2.7% (P=0.01) using 10-year risk categories of CVD. CONCLUSIONS: Elevated serum Prx4 levels are associated with a significantly higher risk of incident CVD events or CVD mortality and all-cause mortality after adjustment for clinical risk factors. The addition of Prx4 to the FRS marginally improved risk prediction of future CVD

This report charts and analyses the current situation regarding integrated digitalinformation facilities in the horticultural sector. It also suggests the outlines of a possible programme for improving the integration of these digital information facilities. Additionally it offers an overview of the current initiatives and projects and suggests a starting point for the role which the Dutch horticulture cluster wishes to fill. Dutch horticulture is aiming towards a guiding role as a developer and owner of operational and coordinating concepts which are used in ICT systems, data flows, and chain standards. The report emphasises the necessity of creating an integrated approach to digital information facilities
