Schwannoma with chondroid metaplasia of the external auditory canal – a rare finding in a rare location: a case report
Abstract Background Schwannomas are uncommon tumors of the external auditory canal. In the English literature, very few cases of schwannomas originating in the external auditory canal were reported and none of them showed chondroid metaplasia. We report the first case of schwannoma with chondroid metaplasia in this location. Case presentation In this report, we described a 22-year-old white man who presented with an external auditory slow growing mass. A computed tomography scan of the temporal bone demonstrated a well-circumscribed, soft tissue mass narrowing most of the external auditory canal. A surgical biopsy was performed and the histological examination showed a schwannoma with chondroid metaplasia. Conclusion Schwannoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of benign or malignant tissue masses involving the external ear canal

Participation, association-building and dissent in North Africa: the various dimensions of youth activism, from the fall of Ben Ali to the revolt against Bouteflika (2011–2019)
Towards the elsewhere : Discourses on migration and mobility practices between Morocco and Italy.
peer reviewedThe objective of this article is to analyze the preparation process of young Moroccan migrants directed towards Italy. My focus is on the personal and collective formulation of their desire to leave and on concomitant action taken to realize these aspirations; highlighting the complexity of the imagination, which migration – and expected return – entails.
A second point of attention is the agency exerted by such youth during preparation for departure; even when they have not physically left the country yet. In addition, my observation is focussed on networks emerging as a result of having to deal with state-imposed, migration restrictions, as well as with the politics of humanitarian agencies and NGOs. My discourse argues that these aspiring migrants project themselves into the future and act in accordance with what they long to become. They shape themselves as mobile subjects through a process of self-making to overcome the above-mentioned constraints
What Leads Some Ordinary Arab Men and Women to Approve of Terrorist Acts Against the United States?
Ordinary Resistance to Masculine Domination in a Civil Disobedience Movement
peer reviewedHow can an activist organisation that adheres to feminist values and engages in antisexist actions strengthen masculine domination within itself? Based on an ethnographic investigation into the anti-globalisation group Les Désobéissants (The Disobedients), this chapter examines how masculine domination hierarchises the activist space and how this activist space reconfigures the relations between men and women. By combining the contributions of the sociology of social movements and gender studies, it shows how the sexual division of activist labour and the pervasiveness of sexism in activist circles consolidate male power and privileges. But this domination does not apply equally to each woman and each situation and is not without limits. Female defections and microresistance introduce fissures in the rock of masculine domination
