Infrared attosecond field transients and UV to IR few-femtosecond pulses generated by high-energy soliton self-compression
Infrared femtosecond laser pulses are important tools both in strong-field
physics, driving X-ray high-harmonic generation, and as the basis for widely
tuneable, if inefficient, ultrafast sources in the visible and ultraviolet.
Although anomalous material dispersion simplifies compression to few-cycle
pulses, attosecond pulses in the infrared have remained out of reach. We
demonstrate soliton self-compression of 1800 nm laser pulses in hollow
capillary fibers to sub-cycle envelope duration (2 fs) with 27 GW peak power,
corresponding to attosecond field transients. In the same system, we generate
wavelength-tuneable few-femtosecond pulses from the ultraviolet (300 nm) to the
infrared (740 nm) with energy up to 25 J and efficiency up to 12 %, and
experimentally characterize the generation dynamics in the time-frequency
domain. A compact second stage generates multi-J pulses from 210 nm to 700
nm using less than 200 J of input energy. Our results significantly expand
the toolkit available to ultrafast science.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figure
WIMPs search by scintillators: possible strategy for annual modulation search with large-mass highly-radiopure NaI(Tl)
The DAMA experiments are running deep underground in the Gran Sasso National
Laboratory. Several interesting results have been achieved so far. Here a
maximum likelihood method to search for the WIMP annual modulation signature is
discussed and applied to a set of preliminary test data collected with large
mass highly radiopure NaI(Tl) detectors. Various related technical arguments
are briefly addressed.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, LaTex. Contributed paper to TAUP97; to appear in

High-energy ultraviolet dispersive-wave emission in compact hollow capillary systems
We demonstrate high-energy resonant dispersive-wave emission in the deep
ultraviolet (218 to 375 nm) from optical solitons in short (15 to 34cm) hollow
capillary fibres. This down-scaling in length compared to previous results in
capillaries is achieved by using small core diameters (100 and 150 m) and
pumping with 6.3 fs pulses at 800 nm. We generate pulses with energies of 4 to
6 J across the deep ultraviolet in a 100 m capillary and up to 11
J in a 150 m capillary. From comparisons to simulations we estimate
the ultraviolet pulse to be 2 to 2.5 fs in duration. We also numerically study
the influence of pump duration on the bandwidth of the dispersive wave.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
Mutation of Directed Graphs -- Corresponding Regular Expressions and Complexity of Their Generation
Directed graphs (DG), interpreted as state transition diagrams, are
traditionally used to represent finite-state automata (FSA). In the context of
formal languages, both FSA and regular expressions (RE) are equivalent in that
they accept and generate, respectively, type-3 (regular) languages. Based on
our previous work, this paper analyzes effects of graph manipulations on
corresponding RE. In this present, starting stage we assume that the DG under
consideration contains no cycles. Graph manipulation is performed by deleting
or inserting of nodes or arcs. Combined and/or multiple application of these
basic operators enable a great variety of transformations of DG (and
corresponding RE) that can be seen as mutants of the original DG (and
corresponding RE). DG are popular for modeling complex systems; however they
easily become intractable if the system under consideration is complex and/or
large. In such situations, we propose to switch to corresponding RE in order to
benefit from their compact format for modeling and algebraic operations for
analysis. The results of the study are of great potential interest to mutation

Analisis Framing Pemberitaan Bom Sarinah di Kompas.com dan Merdeka.com
Terrorism is not a new case in Indonesia, several months ago Indonesia came to be terrorism action attack that happened in Sarinah territorial, at central of Jakarta. The bombed was happening in 14 january 2016, blowed up several times Sarinah crossing territory. “Bom Sarinah” is the first bomb since 2009 ago in Indonesia. Related with this case development, media pushed down to giving the latest information to people, by online media. Online media is theThis research using cualitative method, with analysis of framing Zhongdang Pan and Koscki Models. The objects of this research are the news that related with cases of “Bom Sarinah” in kompas.com and merdeka.com which taken by cascading everyday, based by different topics from 14 January 2016 – 18 January 2016.From the reconstruction or framing, kompas.com was blowing up the human interest side from the police department, it is showed how kompas.com brought the image of police department when treated the case of “Bom Sarinah” (news 16 January 2016) and the source that used by kompas.com only have one source, the police department (news 14-18 January 2016) while merdeka.com taking from any resources or interests, it showed up from the news of merdeka.com that have not any sides of any specific resources (news 14-18 January 2016), the point of view which taken from the news is „what is happening at the field‟ and using several resoursces for making news, any of them are society and BNPT chief development
Manajemen Redaksional Tribunpekanbaru.com Dalam Menentukan Berita Yang Layak
News has become a very important requirement for today\u27s society, almost everyone wanted and needed information, a present .In a news portal which would provide a dish worthy news to its readers, not least for the sake TribunPekanbaru.com portal providing information to the public. The quality of the news would be the responsibility of the editor, which is the department that is directly in contact with the news. For that reason, this study aims to determine the editorial management of the news portal TribunPekanbaru.com and how election news..worth..posting. This research applies qualitative method with descriptive approach qualitative in TribunPekanbaru.com news portal, Jalan Sudirman no. 383. Subjects of study include chief editor, journalist coordinator, online coordinator, and one journalists, as well as some of those readers who are determined through purposive method. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview,and.documentation. The results showed first management function on the news portal editor TribunPekanbaru.com in determining a news worthy. TribunPekanbaru.com implement a planning done in a meeting that news content planning meetings, meetings budgeting, and evaluation. As for the organization. TribunPekanbaru.com have determined the distribution of any journalist for news. Then the execution begins from covering news material, gathering, writing, editing news on the website to which of the use of new media. Forms of surveillance that was done TribunPekanbaru.com one of which is the evaluation of the work on monitoring the news items that will be in the post is one application gatekeeper theory, besides TribunPekanbaru.com also open the service to provide criticism and suggestions from the readers of the portal via e-mail. Second, the election news worthy to be posted on the portal is news that meet the elements of decent news is, the news must be accurate, the news must be full, fair and balanced, the news should be objective, the news should be concise and clear, and the news should be warm. The entire series is a form of managerial process done in determining decent news for the community
Ultrafast Molecular Spectroscopy Using a Hollow-Core Photonic Crystal Fibre Light Source
We demonstrate, for the first time, the application of rare-gas filled
hollow-core photonic crystal fibres (HC-PCFs) as tuneable ultraviolet light
sources in femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy. The time-resolved photoelectron
imaging technique reveals non-adiabatic dynamical processes operating on three
distinct timescales in the styrene molecule following excitation over the
242-258 nm region. These include ultrafast (<100 fs) internal conversion
between the S2(pipi*) and S1(pipi*) electronic states and subsequent
intramolecular vibrational energy redistribution within S1(pipi*). Compact,
cost-effective and highly efficient bench-top HC-PCF sources have huge
potential to open up many exciting new avenues for ultrafast spectroscopy in
the ultraviolet and vacuum ultraviolet spectral regions. We anticipate that our
initial validation of this approach will generate important impetus in this
