Reformed Dogmatics played a most significant role in the twentieth century. As the publications of K. Barth, E. Brunner and J. Moltmann indicate, it was indeed a matter of reformed theology flourishing from its roots, rather than the conservation of tradition as such. The fact that reformed theology is inevitably confessional bound consequently implies supplementary forming of theory. Since reformed theology seeks after the truth of the gospel as the basis of the one, complete Church of Jesus Christ (Barth); confessional profile and the ecumenical horizon of reformed dogmatics simultaneously are tied together. The conclusive gains in knowledge and acknowledgement of a systematical theological nature are the result of a focused commitment to the Bible
