Modeling Multi-wavelength Pulse Profiles of Millisecond Pulsar PSR B1821-24
PSR B182124 is a solitary millisecond pulsar (MSP) which radiates
multi-wavelength pulsed photons. It has complex radio, X-ray and -ray
pulse profiles with distinct peak phase-separations that challenge the
traditional caustic emission models. Using the single-pole annular gap model
with suitable magnetic inclination angle () and viewing angle
(), we managed to reproduce its pulse profiles of three
wavebands. It is found that the middle radio peak is originated from the core
gap region at high altitudes, and the other two radio peaks are originated from
the annular gap region at relatively low altitudes. Two peaks of both X-ray and
-ray wavebands are fundamentally originated from annular gap region,
while the -ray emission generated from the core gap region contributes
somewhat to the first -ray peak. Precisely reproducing the
multi-wavelength pulse profiles of PSR B182124 enables us to understand
emission regions of distinct wavebands and justify pulsar emission models.Comment: Accepted for publication in Ap
Measuring Supply Chain Performance Based on SCOR: A Case Study of a Garment Company in Taiwan
The performance of supply chain is an important factor for the success of a company since it greatly affects the ability to provide customer value. Therefore, it is very important for a company to develop independent criteria to evaluate the performance, compare with competitors, and monitor the operation of a company. In the past, many companies tried to develop criteria for measuring their performance of supply chain. However, suitable criteria are hard to develop since the supply chain is generally very complex. The purpose of this study is to develop criteria to measure the performance of supply chain by using the Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR), which was shown by several previous studies to be an effective tool to develop criteria for measuring performance in diverse industries. To investigate the effectiveness of SCOR, we use the process reference model in SCOR to analyze the current state of a famous garment companyβs processes and its goals, and quantify the operational performance. Results from this study show that SCOR is a very effective tool to develop performance metrics of the supply chain. Through the use of SCOR, a company can clearly define key performance indices (KPI) to improve their performance
Overexpression of Class III Ξ²-tubulin, Sox2, and nuclear Survivin is predictive of taxane resistance in patients with stage III ovarian epithelial cancer
Failed root canal treatment is best addressed primarily with the provision of repeat endodontic treatment with thorough irrigation under isolation. If a post is present in the root of the tooth it needs to be removed first. This paper is the second in a series of two which provide an overview of techniques for post removal. Specifically designed post removal devices and the removal of fibre posts are described. Post removal device techniques are illustrated with a series of clinical case figures
(2R,3S)-2-Benzyl-3-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-Ξ²-d-glucopyranosΒyloxy)butanolide
The title compound, C25H30O12, which demonstrates a significant hepatoprotective effect, has comparable geometrical parameters to those of similar compounds. The absolute configuration of the title compound, viz. 2R,3S, was identified from the Flack parameter of 0.05β
(17) and the Hooft parameter of 0.04β
