A study of the flow characteristics of blast furnace slag is important to record the softening and melting phenomena in blast furnace which greatly influence the extent and location of the cohesive zone having a direct say on the blast furnace operation, quality of hot metal and the coke consumption. In the present work, a noble technique (heating microscope) is adopted to determine the flow characteristics of synthetic slags with high alumina content resembling different indian blast furnace slags . It is also seen that the characteristics temperature are altered with the alteration of C/S ratio and also the MgO and TiO2 content of the blast furnace slag

Background: Cardiac disease in pregnancy is a high-risk pregnancy and major problem worldwide particularly developing countries. In present scenario the incidence of pregnancy with congenital heart disease is high in developed countries and they are landing with favourable outcome due to advance surgical correction of the defects. In developing countries, the incidence of RHD is still high. Therefore, in this study we aim to analyse the incidence of cardiac disease in pregnancy in our hospital and to assess the obstetric outcome. Methods: A retrospective study carried out in 22 number of patients with cardiac disease at tertiary care center during the period of 2 years. Results: In present study the incidence of cardiac disease in pregnancy was observed to be 0.15%.Among them the prevalence of RHD was high (68.1%).Out of which the most common valvular lesion was mitral stenosis (46.6%) followed by mitral stenosis with mitral regurgitation (26.6%).50% of the patients were in NYHA class 2.Majority delivered vaginally with instrumental application in second stage (95.4%).Obstetric complications observed in form of anaemia, preeclampsia, abruption placentae and preterm labour and one maternal  mortality. Perinatal morbidities observed in form of prematurity, SGA, birth asphyxia, MSAF, NICU admission. Conclusions: cardiac disease has major impact on pregnancy and its outcome. It is a team effort by obstetrician, cardiologist, neonatologist to achieve successful pregnancy. Regular antenatal checkup and strict vigilance during the risk period when patient may develop complications as a result of haemodynamic changes can avoid the complications

In the present investigation, an attempt has been done to study the simultaneous effects of the major processing variables on the extent of oxidation of commercially pure sphalerite ore pellets. These process variables taken into consideration were time and temperature. The oxidation was carried inside a muffle furnace where there was mild oxidation in the presence of atmospheric air. The pellets were charged for roasting inside the furnace in a graphite crucible. This process of roasting was carried out at four temperatures 7500 C, 8000 C , 8500 C and 9000 C .The project goal is to compare the oxidation or roasting at different temperature and time. At all instance of comparison one of the parameter was kept constant. The percentage (degree) of oxidation of sphalerite pellets was calculated at 15, 30, 45 and60 minutes, after the furnace reached the predetermined oxidation temperature. The experiments were statistically designed such that the effect of each variable can be quantitatively assessed and compared. The results showed that, temperatures above 8500C, time remaining constant, with the increase in temperature there is increase in the rate of oxidation (roasting) of sphalerite ore pellets. Further more for a constant temperature with the increase in time of exposure, rate of oxidation of Sphalerite (ZnS) pellets increases. This is valid for temperature range above 8500C. Another observation was made that temperature remaining constant, the rate of oxidation of Sphalerite (ZnS) ore pellets increases with time of exposure to attain a maximum limit than suddenly decreases followed by increment in the rate again. This observation was made in the temperature range of less than 8000C

If you don't move forward-you begin to move backward. Technological advancement today has brought us to a frontier where the human has become the basic constraint in our ascent towards safer and faster transportation. Human error is mostly responsible for many road traffic accidents which every year take the lives of lots of people and injure many more. Driving protection is thus a major concern leading to research in autonomous driving systems. Automatic motion planning and navigation is the primary task of an automated guided vehicle or mobile robots. All such navigation systems consist of a data collection system, a decision making system and a hardware control system. In this research our artificial intelligence system is based on neural network model for navigation of an AGV in unpredictable and imprecise environment. A five layered with gradient descent momentum back-propagation system which uses heading angle and obstacle distances as input. The networks are trained by real data obtained from vehicle tracking live test runs. Considering the high amount of risk of testing the vehicle in real space-time conditions, it would initially be tested in simulated environment with the use of MATLAB®. The hardware control for an AGV should be robust and precise. An Aerial and a Grounded prototype were developed to test our neural network model in real time situation
