    Calculation of a self-consistent, low frequency electrostatic field in the drift-kinetic approximation

    July 1977Includes bibliographical references (pages 22-23)We derive an asymptotic series in [omega]p -2 , the inverse-square plasma frequency, for the self-consistent, low frequency electrostatic field in tori. The derivation is consistent with the drift-kinetic ordering and may be used in either instability or equilibrium calculations.
