Attitudes and Beliefs of Midwifery Students on Sexuality and Evaluation of Sexuality: A Mixed-Method Study
Background: The sexual attitudes and beliefs of midwifery students, who play an important role in improving sexual health, can affect both the students themselves and people with disabilities to whom they provide education and counselling. This study aimed to determine the attitudes and beliefs of midwifery students on sexuality and the evaluation of sexuality.
Methods: This research is a mixed-method study that includes two stages: qualitative and quantitative. In the first stage, data was collected from 334 students using a socio-demographic data form and the sexual attitude and belief scale. The second stage involved conducting phenomenological interviews with 21 students.
Results: The students who believed they had adequate knowledge about sexuality and reproductive health, as well as those who had previously engaged in scientific activities related to sexuality, held more positive attitudes and beliefs towards sexual care. The qualitative section of the study identified four main themes, each containing 13 sub-themes, which provided further insights into the students\u27 perspectives on the subject.
Conclusions: The students acknowledged that their society had strict sexual taboos, but their attitudes toward sexuality changed after studying sexual health and women\u27s health at university. The study highlighted the challenges faced by midwifery students in assessing sexual health. By addressing these difficulties, trained midwives can better evaluate the sexual health of patients in clinical settings, leading to early detection of sexual problems.

Discussing Sexuality with Cancer Patients: Oncology Nurses Attitudes and Views
Background: Sexual health and function frequently are overlooked by healthcare professionals despite being identified as an essential aspect of patient care. Patients with cancer have identified sexuality issues as being of equal importance to other quality-of-life issues. Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the views and attitudes of oncology nurses caring for cancer patients regarding sexual counseling. Participants and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on the web site of the Turkish Oncology Nurses Association. With the participation of 87 nurses from oncology departments, the study determined that most nurses do not evaluate and counsel patients regarding their sexual problems and many difficulties prevent them from focussing on sexual health. The most important reasons for ignoring sexual counseling were the absence of routine regarding sexual counseling in oncology departments, the belief that the patient may become ashamed and the nurses' self-evaluation that they have insufficient skills and education to counsel in this subject. Conclusions: The most important variables in sexual evaluation and counseling are long years of service in the profession and a postgraduate degree
Evaluation of Patients' Satisfaction With Nursing Students' Care on a Perinatology Ward
Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate patient satisfaction with the care provided by nursing students on a perinatology ward. Method: The sample for this descriptive study included 210 patients. Data were collected using an interview form and the Turkish version of the Oncology Patients' Perceptions of the Quality of Nursing Care Scale-Short Form. Results: According to the mean scores for all subscales in the instrument, patients were highly satisfied with the care they received from the nursing students. Multivariate analysis revealed that the reason for hospitalization was found to be the most statistically significant factor affecting patient perceptions of quality of care. Conclusion: A high level of satisfaction with the care provided by nursing students indicates that the students were able to meet the patients' needs, which may serve as an indicator of the quality of nursing education and quality of care provided by future nurses
