The power of management in medical services. Can we manage better for higher quality and more productive medical services?
Medical services are the most important services of all since we all depend on them. Their quality and productivity can assure a wealthy nation and therefore good economical results. The offer of medical services depends on medical personnel and more than this, on the management in the medical field since any resource not managed well or not managed at all is only a lost one, regardless its value. Management is therefore the key, the âhow toâ method of obtaining the desired result. The same approach can be applied into our study in order to reach more productive medical services which to prove high quality to all patients. We need to use and to squeeze the entire force of management tools in order to reach our goal: accessible medical services full of quality. The current worldwide crisis situation makes us think that after job and food, even medical services (also a basic thing after all) can become a âluxuryâ although this should never happen. Therefore we must do whatever needed to improve the way medical organizations are driven so that the quality of their medical services will be better and better and the productivity will be at a higher level. Medical management should have as a goal making it possible for patients to be able to solve their health problems as soon as possible and as good as possible.quality, productivity, medical services, human resources, management of health care organizations
Change Leadership and the Worldwide Crisis
Crisis is a normal status in every field, at a certain moment. Itâs a natural status that follows a period of growth, of expansion one. It is even âannouncedâ by certain signs that good leaders could âhearâ or âfeelâ. Core purpose orientation is something that should not miss to any good leading person since it ensures resisting to any type of âstormâ. The article is about challenges determined by changes, how leadership models can be followed during changes period, specificities of change and relation to the crisis status worldwide.crisis; leadership; leader; change; competitive.
Leadership and Organizational Communication in Critical Times
When we talk about the leadership, the dimension of the organization is not important. Leaders can exist in small companies as well as in big companies. It all depends on people and the results reached by the group. If on leader will have very good results with his followers it will mean very much for him. It will also mean very much for the respective company since results will be better if realized with unified forces. Leaders are very good in communication and this means a lot in general and in special in difficult times as crisis times are. As a major issue during the crisis time is related to the communication, this paper brings together the leadership and communication as vital processes for an organizationâs survival and evolution.organizational culture, organizational communication, crisis, critical times, leadership.
The Leadership Mix for Increasing the Organizationâs Competitiveness
We live in times of crisis, times of challenge, times of innovation and, more recently, times of major events (political regimes shocks, destructive earthquakes a.s.o.). All these require a huge dose of flexibility, power, speed and positive attitude. The concept of leadership has to adapt to this reality and to ensure giving its best for getting the best. This article offers an image of how leadership should look nowadays and why its important ingredients worth so much from the competitiveness perspective. As weâve seen in the practical life, leadership is, most of all, a matter of attitude, of the way in which you see yourself and the people around you and how you make the decisions about progressing together!leadership; competitiveness; leadership mix; competence; teamwork.
Forms of presentation for synthesis documents of managerial accounting. Advantages for decision making processes
The paper presents potential forms of presentation for synthesis documents of managerial accounting in Romania. There are analyzed construction models of results accounts relating to total and partial methods identified within enterprises in Romania, which are accompanied by comments of the authors regarding the way of preparation, presentation, assessment, interpretation of the obtained results, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. There are also presented the models of annexes accompanying results account, intended to highlight deviations, cost analysis. The article ends with the authors' point of view about the models approached and analyzed. Results account; Activity-Based Costing; model; synthesis documents; managerial accounting
The importance of activity-based costing method (ABC) In Romania's business environment changes
The purpose of this paper is to present the importance of Activity-Based Costing method (ABC) in Romania's business environment changes. We analyzed the possibilities to adapt to a modern management accounting method and managerial accounting organization assumptions of the ABC (Activity-Based Costing) method in Romanian enterprises. The article ends with the authors' conclusions about the changes of the ABC method in the Romanianâs business environment.Activity-Based Costing; management accounting; entity; implementation; business environment
Global Internal Recirculation Alternative Operation to Reduce Nitrogen and Ammonia Limit Violations and Pumping Energy Costs in Wastewater Treatment Plants
The internal recirculation plays an important role in different areas of the biological treatment of wastewater treatment plants because it has a great influence on the concentration of pollutants, especially nutrients. A usual manipulation of the internal recirculation flow rate is based on the target of controlling the nitrate concentration in the last anoxic tank. This work proposes an alternative for the manipulation of the internal recirculation flow rate instead of nitrate control, with the objective of avoiding limit violations of nitrogen and ammonia concentrations and reducing operational costs. A fuzzy controller is proposed to achieve it based on the effects of the internal recirculation flow rate in different areas of the biological treatment. The proposed manipulation of the internal recirculation flow rate is compared to the application of the usual nitrate control in an already established and published operation strategy by using the internationally known benchmark simulation model no. 2 as a working scenario. The results show improvements with reductions of 59.40% in ammonia limit violations, 2.35% in total nitrogen limit violations, and 38% in pumping energy costs
The numeric evaluation of the magnetic field produced by a rotor with alternating poles
The magnetic field produced by a rotor with alternating magnetic poles in a magnetic fluid hydrostatic bearing is numerically evaluated. There has been used a 3D program based on the finite element method (3D-FEM)
Water Quality Modeling and Control in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems
Nowadays, modern aquaculture technologies are made in recirculating systems, which require the use of high-performance methods for the recirculated water treatment. The present chapter presents the results obtained by the authors in the field of modeling and control of wastewater treatment processes from intensive aquaculture systems. All the results were obtained on a pilot plant built for the fish intensive growth in recirculating regime located in âDunarea de Josâ University from Galati. The pilot plant was designed to study the development of various fish species, starting with the less demanding species (e.g. carp, waller), or "difficult" species such as trout and sturgeons (beluga, sevruga, etc.)
