    The BaR-SPOrt Experiment

    BaR-SPOrt (Balloon-borne Radiometers for Sky Polarisation Observations) is an experiment to measure the linearly polarized emission of sky patches at 32 and 90 GHz with sub-degree angular resolution. It is equipped with high sensitivity correlation polarimeters for simultaneous detection of both the U and Q stokes parameters of the incident radiation. On-axis telescope is used to observe angular scales where the expected polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMBP) peaks. This project shares most of the know-how and sophisticated technology developed for the SPOrt experiment onboard the International Space Station. The payload is designed to flight onboard long duration stratospheric balloons both in the Northern and Southern hemispheres where low foreground emission sky patches are accessible. Due to the weakness of the expected CMBP signal (in the range of microK), much care has been spent to optimize the instrument design with respect to the systematics generation, observing time efficiency and long term stability.     On the Thermal Activation of Turin Metro Line 2 Tunnels

    The Turin metro Line 2 will extend for nearly 28 km and include 26 stations. It will connect the SW suburbs of the city to the NE ones. The excavation will be performed by means of TBM and Cut & Cover techniques and, once concluded, will host a fully automated driverless light metro. This paper will describe the feasibility study carried out to assess the energy potential of the thermal activation of the line by using an innovative tunnel lining segment (ENERTUN) recently patented and tested in real operating conditions. A novel methodology was adopted, involving thermo-hydraulic 3D FE numerical anal- yses to identify the geothermal potential for the different sections of the line. A study of the possible collectors for the thermal energy produced was also performed considering the planned stations, the existing buildings and the future urban developments

    SPOrt: an Experiment Aimed at Measuring the Large Scale Cosmic Microwave Background Polarization

    SPOrt (Sky Polarization Observatory) is a space experiment to be flown on the International Space Station during Early Utilization Phase aimed at measuring the microwave polarized emission with FWHM = 7deg, in the frequency range 22-90 GHz. The Galactic polarized emission can be observed at the lower frequencies and the polarization of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) at 90 GHz, where contaminants are expected to be less important. The extremely low level of the CMB Polarization signal (< 1 uK) calls for intrinsically stable radiometers. The SPOrt instrument is expressly devoted to CMB polarization measurements and the whole design has been optimized for minimizing instrumental polarization effects.     Children's game library as a Unique Extracurricular Educational Establishment in the USSR (the middle of the 20th century)

    The article reveals the history of emergence and work of children's game libraries in the USSR in the middle of the 20th century. The first children's game libraries, which were educational establishments where children could come and play different games, using various game and sport equipment free of charge, appeared in the 1930th and became wide spread in the USSR in the 1930th - 1950th. Children's game libraries had different tasks of their work (organizing children's cultural leisure time, increasing the educational and political levels of children's games and entertainments which were conducted in schools, summer camps and extracurricular educational establishments). They also had different directions of their work, namely: organizational, methodic, educational, experimental, instructive and consultative directions. It has been shown in the article that children’s game libraries had great results of their work (they involved a lot of children and adults in their activities; the network of children's game libraries began to grow; a lot of new toys and games were created and produced by them). However, children's game libraries faced certain difficulties in their work, namely: absence of own premises of children’s game libraries, lack of enough support for their activities by some educational institutions and teaching staff, lack of the required amount of toys and games, insufficient instructive and publishing activities of children’s game libraries
