The objecctive of these research was to study response of Mucuna seedling on planting media from waste oil palm and mycorrhiza. This research conducted at the Silau Dunia, PTPN III, District Dolok Masihul, Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, on October 2014 to January 2015. The design used randomized block design factorial. The first factor was planting media from palm oil waste with composition: (Top Soil+ Sandy soil; Top Soil+ empty fruit bunches+ Fiber; Top Soil+empty fruit bunches+Solid Decanter; Top Soil+empty fruit bunches+Sludge; Top Soil+ Fiber+ Solid Decanter; Top Soil+ Fiber+ Sludge and Top Soil+ Solid Decanter+ Sludge). The second factor was asosiation with Mycorrhizae (micofer aplication and not). The result showed that planting Media Top Soil+ empty fruit bunches+ Sludge can increased Mucuna growth. Mucuna seedling that symbiosis with mycorrhizae can improve all growth parametrs compared without mycorrhiza aplication

Heritability of some varieties of mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.) with organic fertilizer. Mustardis a vegetable that seasonal and widely cultivated because of their many benefits and rewards.Mustard production has decreased each year. The decreasing availability of land and cultivationmethods are less than the maximum, then powered back organic farming system. The purpose ofthis research was to determine the response of two varieties of mustard with a heritability ofproviding a variety of organic fertilizers. Research conducted in public land Jl.Setia Budi, SelayangSimpang Village, District Field Tuntungan in September to November 2012, using a randomizedblock design with two factors and four replications. The first factor was mustard varieties consistedof Toksakan and Morakot. The second factor was sources of Will Grow organic fertilizer consistedof without Will Grow organic fertilizer, (0.5 x recommended dosage): 31.25 g / plot, (1.00 xrecommended dosage): 62.5 g / plot and (1.50 x recommended dosage): 93.75 g / plot. The resultsshowed that the varieties tested significantly different observation variables plant height, leaf area, leaf chlorophyll amount, selling fresh weight per plant, biomass per sample weight and harvestindex. Fertilizer Will Grow significant effect on the observation variables plant height, leaf area, leaf chlorophyll amount, selling fresh weight per plant, and weight biomass per sample. Highestheritability value contained in the variable observations of the lowest plant height and leaf area atthe observation variables

The objective of this research were to study the influence of dormancy breaking methods on sugarpalm seed viability. This research was conducted at screenhouse in Agriculture Faculty, Universityof North Sumatera, Medan (± 25 m asl) from June-September 2012, using completely randomizeddesign with 8 treatments (control, water soaking 50ºC, 0.1%KNO3, 0.3%KNO3 , 0.5%KNO3 and0.1%HCl, 0.2%HCl, 0.3%HCl) with 4 replications. The results showed that dormancy breakingmethods were significantly effect to axis embryo length (5 week after planted), germinating time, viability, plant height, diameter bar, numbers root, root length, fresh weight, dry weight and werenot significantly to axis embryo length 4 WAP, normal sprout, abnormal sprout and the numberleaf extent

Using of Central Composite Rotatable Design (CCRD) to determine the surface response producewas not researched yet, so the research have been conducted in UPT BBI Tanjung Selamat, Regencyof Deli Serdang, Province of North Sumatra with the land height ± 25 m above sea level, at May2012 - August 2012 using randomized block design with two factors : two varieties (Bisma and SHS-4) and Fertilizer (P and K with the dose determined from CCRD). Parameters measured were plantheight, number of leaf, time of flower initiation, harvesting age, cob length, number of leaf abovecob, cob diameter, weight of 100 seeds, seed filling rate and dry seeds production. The resultsshowed that the varieties were significantly diffrent to plant height, number of leafs, harvesting age,cob diameter, weight of 100 seeds, the seed filling rate, and dry seeds production. Fertilizer weresigificantly effects to plant height, number of leafs, and dry seeds production. Interaction betweenvarieties and fertilizer were significantly effects to plant height, cob diameter, and dry seedsproduction
