    Experiencias De Danzaterapia De Mujeres Que Han Sufrido Cáncer De Mama: Un Estudio Fenomenológico

    This essay aims at identifying, describing and analyzing possible changes both in the experience of the body and in interpersonal relations of women with breast cancer, which result from their participation in Dance Therapy group meetings. Method: This is a phenomenologically oriented qualitative research using Maria Fux’s dance therapy method for group experiences. Eight meetings are described here, and an analysis of descriptions based primarily on Merleau-Ponty and María Fux is provided. Results: The participants have been able to express pain and sorrow over the circumstances that breast cancer and its relational environments have brought to their lives. They have been able to go through moments of creation and surrender to the rhythmic body sensations and experiential environment with different emotions lived separately and jointly. They have revived memories and sensations of their childhood and adolescence, and finally, they have rediscovered their sensitive body through body resignifications marked by the absence of the breast, and by means of feelings of greater acceptance and integration of lived experiences in new gestalts. Conclusions: This project is still under way, but it is already possible to conclude that the life experiences provided in dance therapy have allowed these women to improve their integration and welfare. Likewise, they have felt positive changes in the perception of their corporality and in their way of being in the world and with other subjects, thus experiencing the body in a new and different way. © 2016, Spanish Association of Anglo-American Studies.     Characterization of Culex Flavivirus (Flaviviridae) strains isolated from mosquitoes in the United States and Trinidad

    AbstractRecent reports indicate that flaviviruses similar to the cell fusing agent virus (CFAV) naturally infect a wide variety of mosquito species. These newly recognized insect-specific viruses comprise a distinct CFAV complex within the genus Flavivirus. Here, we describe the isolation and characterization of nine strains of Culex flavivirus (Cx FV), a member of the CFAV complex, from mosquitoes collected in the United States (East Texas) and Trinidad. Phylogenetic analyses of the envelope protein gene sequences of these nine mosquito isolates with those of other CFAV complex flaviviruses in GenBank indicate that the U.S. isolates group with CxFV isolates from Asia (Japan and Indonesia), while the Trinidad isolates are more similar to CxFV isolates from Central America. A discussion follows on the possible biological significance of the CFAV complex flaviviruses

    Ultrathin porous pavement made with high viscosity asphalt rubber binder: A better acoustic absorption?

    his work presents a non-destructive technique applied to ultrathin porous asphalt pavements that allows us to characterize their internal structure. Comparison between acoustic absorption data from experimental tests with an impedance tube and analytical simulation leads to an optimization of intrinsic parameters, such as tortuosity, airflow resistivity and porosity. The studied ultrathin specimens are of a high air void content porous mixture made with conventional polymer modified bituminous binder and high viscosity rubber binder. It has been found that one of the studied mixtures presents less air void con- tent than specified by the manufacturer, and thus absorbs less noise as foreseen. Finally, in this case it appears that using a high viscosity asphalt rubber binder has no influence on maximum acoustic absorp- tion but on the frequency of appearance of this maximum, tortuosity and airflow resistivity

    Effect of pavement temperature on the macrotexture of a semidense asphalt surface

    International audienceThe temperature of the softening point of most bitumen is above 35ºC. Increasing the pavement temperature could change the texture surface of the pavement. The aim of this work is to analyze the influence of the surface temperature on the macrotexture of a semidense asphalt pavement located in an urban area and a semidense asphalt sample in laboratory. The superficial macrotexture profiles at different surface temperatures were measured with the LaserStaticPG-LA<sup>2</sup>IC and a texture scanner. The mean profile depth (MPD) and the texture spectra have been used for the macrotexture analysis. The analysis of the results shows that increasing pavement temperature does not necessary leads to a variation in the MPD index but a change of texture level has been observed for temperature superior to 40ºC. Moreover this study has allowed observing the repeatability of the measurements realized with the new LaserStaticPG-LA<sup>2</sup>IC and ensure another technique of road texture auscultation associating MPD and texture spectrum analysis to be used

    Road pavement rehabilitation using a binder with a high content of crumb rubber: Influence on noise reduction

    Although performance of pavements depend on the characteristics of materials used, design accuracy and construction quality, crumb rubber modified binders (CRMB) are materials with an increasing use in road pavements due to their enhanced properties and to the environmental protection by re-using a waste material. This paper presents the laboratory characterization and the evaluation of field performances of a gap-graded mix with 20% of crumb rubber by weight of bitumen, added by a wet process. Acoustical field characterization has been performed by determining, at different speeds, sound levels and noise spectra measured in close proximity. Road profiles along the test sections and sound absorption of compacted sample cores also have been studied to analyze their relationship with the noise emitted. Results show that the use of a binder modified with a high content of crumb rubber reduces the noise emitted by the tyre/pavement interaction
