Ecdysteroids and other secondary metabolites from Amaranthus indica Mill (Amaranthaceae)
A general screening for secondary metabolites was carried out with the methanolic extract from the leaves and stems of Amaranthus indica Mill (Amaranthaceae). Three ecdysteroids: amasterol. ecdysterone, pterosterone, one sesquiterpene lactone, iresin, and an isoflavone, tlatlancuayin were isolated
Crystal Structure and Synthesis of 17.ALPHA.-(5-Bromovaleroyloxy)-16.BETA.-methylpregna-4,6-diene-3,20-dione.
Synthesis and biological activity of progesterone derivatives as 5α-reductase inhibitors, and their effect on hamster prostate weight
Xanthones, flavones and coumarins from Amarantus paniculatus Schinz (Amarantaceae)
A general screening for secondary metabolites was carried out with the methanolic extract from the leaves and stems of Amarantus paniculatus Schinz (Amarantaceae). Two coumarins: umbelliferone 1 and scopoletin 2, one chromone derivative, piliostigmin 3 (2-phenoxychromone) and three flavonoids: 6,8-di-C-methylquercetin-3-methyl ether 4, eucalyptin 5 and gnaphaliin 6 were isolated
Oil composition and flavonoid profiles of the seeds of three Annona species
The fatty acid composition and the triglycerides from the seed oil of Annona diversifolia Safford, A. purpurea Moc. et Sesse ex Dunal and A. lutescens Safford were determined. Also a chromatographic analysis of the seed flavonoids was carried out. The fatty acid and triglyceride profiles showed a closer relationship between A. purpurea and A. lutenscens than between these two species and A. diversifolia. The number of spots and their distribution in the flavonoid chromatograms showed a similar relationship. The chromatographic analysis of the seed flavonoids shows similar relationships among the species with respect to the number of components and their distribution
