OPPORTUNITIES OF HARNESSING ORGANIZATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
In order for an organization to harness the most out of its knowledge fluxes, informational stocks and data bases it must focus its interest specifically in those areas. Within this paper we point out the idea that understanding knowledge types and knowledge processes may lead to great performance opportunities for the employees and for the organization. We started our debate through emphasizing the role and importance of knowledge both as a historical concept and as a modern tool for practice. Many discussions about knowledge start from their place in a certain hierarchy and continue by emphasizing in turn each of the following levels. We brought to attention some arguments in order to explain how organizations may transform gradually their databases and information stocks into competitive knowledge. Organizational knowledge has different perspectives, forms and meanings depending very much on the context. Understanding the knowledge hierarchy makes it possible to be more effective and avoid errors by knowing exactly which type of knowledge one needs to use. Further we argue that correct identification of knowledge helps to guide these effectively and therefore contributes to the successful achievement of organizational tasks. Factorial Analysis Perspectives upon Studentsā Skills in the Knowledge Economy
The main purpose of this research is to identify which is the necessary level of studentsā competencies according to the requirements of the knowledge-based economy. In this approach, we will highlight the influence of generic skills that stimulate the students to think strategically and learn through their experiences. Throughout the sections of the paper, we will highlight the facts and characteristics of the knowledge economy and the profile of the young generations of students who are going to be the future players whether as managers or as employees. The quantitative part of the research was realized throughout the administration of a 30 items questionnaire which was addressed to both undergraduates and graduates, enrolled in management and business study programs from āStefan cel Mareā University of Suceava, Romania. The database with the results was processed using a statistical software - SPSS, v.19. In order to reveal more insightful correlations about the respondentsā opinions, we processed a Factorial Analysis for Principal Components. This analysis shows the most significant factors which influence the studentsā learning behavior and options during the educational process. We consider that the results of such a survey should be of interest for the university governance in order to increase the generated intellectual capital by improving the studentsā generic skills
Exploring Strategies for Developing Entrepreneurial Behavior of Students in Romanian Universities
Throughout this research paper we want to emphasize the correlations of theory and practice regarding the topic of the entrepreneurial university. The research combines a two-level approach by correlating both a qualitative-bibliometric analysis and a quantitative exploratory analysis. To identify the theoretical descriptors of the āentrepreneurial universityā concept we performed a cluster analysis by using VOSviewer software selecting the published articles in the Scopus database since its beginning. The relevance of this analysis consists in the opportunity of extracting the most relevant information on the analyzed topic according to several criteria such as keywords, co-occurrence, co-citation, or publication topics by year. From this perspective the pieces of evidence are meaningful and we shall present them within the sections of the paper. On the other hand, for obtaining a practice grounded perspective, we applied 350 questionnaires to a target group involved in a university grant for young entrepreneurs. The purpose of the survey was to determine a series of characteristics and patterns of behavior of respondents related to their entrepreneurial orientation. The questionnaire contained a large number of variables for each individual to identify his/her distinct options and thus to draw the big picture. The variables were grouped into 6 dimensions which we identified as a priority for the entrepreneurial orientation framework: personal traits, motivation, attitude, framework conditions, and skills and knowledge. We statistically processed the survey data to identify the most meaningful correlations and interdependencies between the variables. The results of both research protocols are correlated and argued within the final section of the paper followed by conclusions and further research tracks
Universities in the Knowledge Economy
Throughout this paper, we present the observations and conclusions of our research that is both conceptual and pragmatic. As the title suggests, our research focuses on the new roles of universities in the knowledge economy.Ā Since their beginning, universities have been scientific, cultural and moral landmarks for society and even today they have the mission of stimulating a social and economic progress in society. We start the presentation of the research by emphasizing the correlations between the new understanding of the knowledge concept and the functioning of the university. We consider that knowledge represents a strategic resource for universities and also the main resource used in all its organizational processes and has great impact on the final products and services that the university delivers for its stakeholders and finally for the whole society. In the second section of the paper we discuss the strategic roles that the universities play in society. Though we consider that the primordial role of the university is to educate students and to contribute to the scientific knowledge of the world, today universities integrate more and diverse responsibilities which represent new dynamics capabilities. Within the third section of the paper we approach the problem of the intellectual capital which we consider also as a strategic component of universities and with great potential for their prosperity. The discussion regarding the impact of the intellectual capital is particularly important due to the presentation of the novel entropic model of intellectual capital. In the final part of the paper we analyze and argue the most recently announced challenges and high perspectives for the universities world-wide and we present our concluding remarks.
Knowledge Dynamics Impact on Intellectual Capital in Organizations
The purpose of this paper is to show the influence of knowledge dynamics processes upon the intellectual capital in organizations. In the literature, the authors focus on knowledge dynamics and knowledge management or intellectual capital but very few papers discuss the influence of knowledge dynamics upon the structure and functionality of intellectual capital in organizations. We use a conceptual approach based on the theory of multifield organizational knowledge and the theory of organizational integrators to demonstrate that intellectual capital structure results from the organizational knowledge dynamics. The well-known model of intellectual capital based on human capital, structural capital and relational capital appears as a meta-model that can be decomposed into rational capital, emotional capital and spiritual capital in organizations

Dynamic Capabilities of Universities in the Knowledge Economy
The purpose of this paper is to analyze how universities can develop dynamic capabilities based on their strategic resources in order to increase their competitiveness in the knowledge economy. āDynamic capabilitiesā is a concept introduced by Teece, Pisano, and Shuen (1997) to emphasize the managerial capacity of a given organization of using efficiently its strategic resources in transforming opportunities in business success. They reflect the capacity of the organization to sense, seize, adapt to the changing environment. For a university, the most important strategic resources are information, knowledge, and ideas which constitute its intellectual capital. The present paper is analyzing critically these strategic resources of a university and the necessary conditions to develop dynamic capabilities in order to use efficiently these resources in a turbulent economic environment. Universities are in the knowledge economy the most important hubs for knowledge creation and its transfer to the students, as well as to their communities. At the same time, professors contribute to the development of the generic thinking skills of their students to help them for employability in a future with many new jobs and new business activities
Impact of Digitalization on Education in the Knowledge Economy
Due to the accelerated pace with which developments in information and communications technology are taking place, digital society and the digital economy have become real and, in turn, are generating specific challenges. In this environment, digital skills and competencies are essential in order to achieve professional success and the personal development of any individual. Through this paper, we aim to bring to light the basic concepts in the field of digital technology and at the same time, the topical implications on the educational processes. The main objective of the paper is to reflect the impact of digitalization on the education sector both in the European context and in Romania. The importance of the topic under consideration can be justified with many arguments, but we will mainly appeal to the need to meet the objectives proposed by the 2020 Strategy in the field of education, research and development at European level and in Romania. Considering the previous premises, in the paper, we will present information about the concepts of digitalization and digitization and the implications in the field of education. The realization of this paper is based on the study of the specialized literature, of the official documents published by the European Commission offices and of the statistics issued by the specialized bodies.
Investigating Sustainable Business Ecosystems and the University Role: A Cluster Analysis
This research paper aims to identify the factors, components, and key aspects that significantly contribute to the establishment of a sustainable business ecosystem through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. By analysing prominent publications, we seek to describe coherent strategies with an expected impact. Our objectives encompass exploring trends from both theoretical perspectives, such as predictions by scientists, and empirical perspectives, including figures derived from studies. We outline several secondary objectives that guide our step-by-step approach. Firstly, we identify defining elements of a sustainable business environment based on insights from specialized literature. Secondly, we categorize ecosystems into different types, such as economic, digital, ecological, and entrepreneurial, providing further elaboration later in the paper. Thirdly, we present an updated understanding of the dynamic evolution of ecosystems and their components. This includes examining the influence of digital advancements and digitalization on the business environment, as well as the opportunities and threats they generate. Of particular importance is the role of universities as a significant landmark within the business ecosystem. We discuss the university's involvement in technological and informational transfer to ensure sustainability, focusing on the levers through which universities consolidate and stimulate the business ecosystem. To achieve our objectives, we employ bibliometric analysis, utilizing the VOSviewer software, which offers valuable insights for constructing diagnostic schemes and development models tailored to specific business environment challenges. The research methodology relies on the VOSviewer software for processing academic publication databases. To align with the theme and purpose of this study, we selected the SCOPUS database for its implicit certification of superior academic quality in the publications it contains
THE EVOLUTION OF THE ORGANIC PRODUCTS AND CONSUMER BEHAVIOR
Within this paper we bring together the conceptual and practical issues regarding the organic products market and the consumer behavior specificity on this market. In the first section we introduce the importance and argue the conceptual approach. Throughout the second section, we review the evolution of the āorganicā concept and emphasize the necessity to promote this consumption trend both at European level and national level. The evolution of the āorganicā concept must be acknowledged in order to have proper meaning of its origin and usefulness. The third section presents some evidence at European level regarding the practicing of organic farming and agriculture. Section four describes the specificity of the consumer behavior on this niche market. In order to bring the suitable arguments, we present a categorization of consumers and their behavior, in section 5. Throughout the conclusion section we review the most relevant ideas and interpretations on the subject. We conclude that each type of behavior depends on previous factors that had an influence, directly or indirectly. In real life, marketing studies are directly interested to discover and analyze the triggers of consumer behavior which further determine the consumersā act of buying and that is highly more important for such a domain like organic products
