Coulomb Gaps in One-Dimensional Spin-Polarized Electron Systems
We investigate the density of states (DOS) near the Fermi energy of
one-dimensional spin-polarized electron systems in the quantum regime where the
localization length is comparable to or larger than the inter-particle
distance. The Wigner lattice gap of such a system, in the presence of weak
disorder, can occur precisely at the Fermi energy, coinciding with the Coulomb
gap in position. The interplay between the two is investigated by treating the
long-range Coulomb interaction and the random disorder potential in a
self-consistent Hartree-Fock approximation. The DOS near the Fermi energy is
found to be well described by a power law whose exponent decreases with
increasing disorder strength.Comment: 4 pages, revtex, 4 figures, to be published in Phys. Rev. B as a

Angular Conditions,Relations between Breit and Light-Front Frames, and Subleading Power Corrections
We analyze the current matrix elements in the general collinear (Breit)
frames and find the relation between the ordinary (or canonical) helicity
amplitudes and the light-front helicity amplitudes. Using the conservation of
angular momentum, we derive a general angular condition which should be
satisfied by the light-front helicity amplitudes for any spin system. In
addition, we obtain the light-front parity and time-reversal relations for the
light-front helicity amplitudes. Applying these relations to the spin-1 form
factor analysis, we note that the general angular condition relating the five
helicity amplitudes is reduced to the usual angular condition relating the four
helicity amplitudes due to the light-front time-reversal condition. We make
some comments on the consequences of the angular condition for the analysis of
the high- deuteron electromagnetic form factors, and we further apply the
general angular condition to the electromagnetic transition between spin-1/2
and spin-3/2 systems and find a relation useful for the analysis of the
N- transition form factors. We also discuss the scaling law and the
subleading power corrections in the Breit and light-front frames.Comment: 24 pages,2 figure
Effect of Nyquist Noise on the Nyquist Dephasing Rate in 2d Electron Systems
We measure the effect of externally applied broadband Nyquist noise on the
intrinsic Nyquist dephasing rate of electrons in a two-dimensional electron gas
at low temperatures. Within the measurement error, the phase coherence time is
unaffected by the externally applied Nyquist noise, including applied noise
temperatures of up to 300 K. The amplitude of the applied Nyquist noise from
100 MHz to 10 GHz is quantitatively determined in the same experiment using a
microwave network analyzer.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures. Author affiliation clarified; acknowledgements

Baryon Tri-local Interpolating Fields
We systematically investigate tri-local (non-local) three-quark baryon fields
with U_L(2)*U_R(2) chiral symmetry, according to their Lorentz and isospin
(flavor) group representations. We note that they can also be called as
"nucleon wave functions" due to this full non-locality. We study their chiral
transformation properties and find all the possible chiral multiplets
consisting J=1/2 and J=3/2 baryon fields. We find that the axial coupling
constant |g_A| = 5/3 is only for nucleon fields belonging to the chiral
representation (1/2,1)+(1,1/2) which contains both nucleon fields and Delta
fields. Moreover, all the nucleon fields belonging to this representation have
|g_A| = 5/3.Comment: 8 pages, 3 tables, accepted by EPJ
Analysis of the Y(4140) and related molecular states with QCD sum rules
In this article, we assume that there exist scalar , , and
molecular states, and study their masses using
the QCD sum rules. The numerical results indicate that the masses are about
above the corresponding ,
, and thresholds, the Y(4140) is unlikely a scalar molecular state. The scalar ,
, and molecular states maybe not exist, while the scalar , , and
molecular states maybe exist.Comment: 19 pages, 36 figures, slight revisio
Path lengths in turbulence
By tracking tracer particles at high speeds and for long times, we study the
geometric statistics of Lagrangian trajectories in an intensely turbulent
laboratory flow. In particular, we consider the distinction between the
displacement of particles from their initial positions and the total distance
they travel. The difference of these two quantities shows power-law scaling in
the inertial range. By comparing them with simulations of a chaotic but
non-turbulent flow and a Lagrangian Stochastic model, we suggest that our
results are a signature of turbulence.Comment: accepted for publication in Journal of Statistical Physic
Another tetraquark structure in the invariant mass distribution
In this article, we assume that there exists a scalar hidden charm tetraquark
state in the invariant mass distribution, and study its mass
using the QCD sum rules. The numerical result is
consistent with the mass of the Z(4250). The Z(4250) may be a tetraquark state,
other possibilities, such as a hadro-charmonium resonance and a
molecular state are not excluded.Comment: 14 pages, 14 figure, correct some type error
Comparison between the Cramer-Rao and the mini-max approaches in quantum channel estimation
In a unified viewpoint in quantum channel estimation, we compare the
Cramer-Rao and the mini-max approaches, which gives the Bayesian bound in the
group covariant model. For this purpose, we introduce the local asymptotic
mini-max bound, whose maximum is shown to be equal to the asymptotic limit of
the mini-max bound. It is shown that the local asymptotic mini-max bound is
strictly larger than the Cramer-Rao bound in the phase estimation case while
the both bounds coincide when the minimum mean square error decreases with the
order O(1/n). We also derive a sufficient condition for that the minimum mean
square error decreases with the order O(1/n).Comment: In this revision, some unlcear parts are clarifie
Search for anomalous top-gluon couplings at LHC revisited
Through top-quark pair productions at LHC, we study possible effects of
nonstandard top-gluon couplings yielded by SU(3)xSU(2)xU(1) invariant
dimension-6 effective operators. We calculate the total cross section and also
some distributions for p p -> t tbar X as functions of two anomalous-coupling
parameters, i.e., the chromoelectric and chromomagnetic moments of the top,
which are constrained by the total cross section sigma(p pbar -> t tbar X)
measured at Tevatron. We find that LHC might give us some chances to observe
sizable effects induced by those new couplings.Comment: One comment and related two refs. added. Final version (to appear in

The transition form factors for semi-leptonic weak decays of in QCD sum rules
Within the Standard Model, we investigate the semi-leptonic weak decays of
. The various form factors of transiting to a single charmed
meson () are studied in the framework of the QCD sum rules.
These form factors fully determine the rates of the weak semi-leptonic decays
of and provide valuable information about the non-perturbative QCD
effects. Our results indicate that the decay rate of the semi-leptonic weak
decay mode is at order of .Comment: 28 pages, 6 figures, revised version to be published in Eur.Phys.J.
