On Prospects for Exploration of Supersymmetry in Double Beta Decay Experiments
We analyze constraints on the parameters of the R-parity violating
supersymmetry which can be extracted from non-observation of the neutrinoless
nuclear double beta decay () at a given half-life lower bound.
Our analysis covers a large class of phenomenologically viable R-parity
violating SUSY models. We introduce special characteristics: the SUSY
sensitivity of a decaying isotope and the SUSY reach of a
experiment. The former provides a physical criterion for a
selection of the most promising isotopes for SUSY searches and the latter gives
a measure of success for a experiment in exploring the
R-parity violating SUSY parameter space. On this basis we discuss prospects for
exploration of supersymmetry in various experiments.Comment: 11 pages, 5 Postscript figures. Modified and updated version is

The Pulsar Wind Nebula Around PSR B1853+01 in the Supernova Remnant W44
We present radio observations of a region in the vicinity of the young pulsar
PSR B1853+01 in the supernova remnant W44. The pulsar is located at the apex of
an extended feature with cometary morphology. We argue on the basis of its
morphology and its spectral index and polarization properties that this is a
synchrotron nebula produced by the spin down energy of the pulsar. The geometry
and physical parameters of this pulsar-powered nebula and W44 are used to
derive three different measures of the pulsar's transverse velocity. A range of
estimates between 315 and 470 km/s are derived, resulting in a typical value of
375 km/s. The observed synchrotron spectrum from radio to X-ray wavelengths is
used to put constraints on the energetics of the nebula and to derive the
parameters of the pulsar wind.Comment: ApJ Let (in press
Monopoles near the Planck Scale and Unification
Considering our (3+1)-dimensional space-time as, in some way, discrete or l
attice with a parameter , where is the Planck length,
we have investigated the additional contributions of lattice artifact monopoles
to beta-functions of the renormalisation group equations for the running fine
structure constants (i=1,2,3 correspond to the U(1), SU(2) and
SU(3) gauge groups of the Standard Model) in the Family Replicated Gauge Group
Model (FRGGM) which is an extension of the Standard Model at high energies. It
was shown that monopoles have times smaller magnetic charge in FRGGM
than in SM ( is the number of families in FRGGM). We have estimated al
so the enlargement of a number of fermions in FRGGM leading to the suppression
of the asymptotic freedom in the non-Abelian theory. We have shown that, in
contrast to the case of AntiGUT when the FRGGM undergoes the breakdown at
GeV, we have the possibility of unification if the
FRGGM-breakdown occurs at GeV. By numerical calculations we
obtained an example of the unification of all gauge interactions (including
gravity) at the scale GeV. We discussed the
possibility of or (SUSY or not SUSY) unifications.Comment: 49 pages, 7 figure
