FogGIS: Fog Computing for Geospatial Big Data Analytics

Cloud Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has emerged as a tool for analysis, processing and transmission of geospatial data. The Fog computing is a paradigm where Fog devices help to increase throughput and reduce latency at the edge of the client. This paper developed a Fog-based framework named Fog GIS for mining analytics from geospatial data. We built a prototype using Intel Edison, an embedded microprocessor. We validated the FogGIS by doing preliminary analysis. including compression, and overlay analysis. Results showed that Fog computing hold a great promise for analysis of geospatial data. We used several open source compression techniques for reducing the transmission to the cloud.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, 1 table, 3rd IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Electronics (09-11 December, 2016) Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi, Indi

Enhanced electric dipole moment of the muon in the presence of large neutrino mixing

    Get PDF
The electric dipole moment of the muon (d_mu) is evaluated in supersymmetric models with nonzero neutrino masses and large neutrino mixing arising from the seesaw mechanism. It is found that if the seesaw mechanism is embedded in the framework of a left-right symmetric gauge structure, the interactions responsible for the right-handed neutrino Majorana masses lead to an enhancement in d_mu. We find d_mu as large as 5. 10^{-23} ecm with a correlated value of (g-2) = 13. 10^{-10}, even for low values of tan beta. This should provide a strong motivation for improving the edm of the muon to the level of 10^{-24} ecm as has recently been proposed

Partial Yukawa unification and a supersymmetric origin of flavor mixing

    Get PDF
In a large class of supersymmetric SO(10) and left-right models, requiring that the effective theory below the scale of SU(2)RSU(2)_R breaking be the MSSM implies partial Yukawa unification with Yu=YdY_u=Y_d and Ye=YνDY_e=Y_{\nu^D}. The same result also emerges in models with a horizontal SU(3)HSU(3)_H symmetry. As a result, at the tree level, these models lead to vanishing quark mixing angles. We show that the correct mixing pattern can be generated in these models at the loop level from the flavor structure associated with the supersymmetry breaking terms. We generalize the constraints on supersymmetric parameters from flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes to include several squark mass insertions and confirm the consistency of the scheme. The expectations of this scheme for CP violating observables in the BB meson system are quiet different from the KM model, so it can be tested at the B factories

The signature at the Tevatron for the light doubly charged Higgsino of the supersymmetric left-right model

We analyze the signal at the Tevatron for the doubly charged Higgs superfield of supersymmetric left-right models with gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking. Due to the presence of a new coupling, the lighter stau is usually less massive than the lightest neutralino and is frequently the NLSP. The fermionic part of the doubly charged Higgs field decays dominantly into two tau leptons plus missing energy (gravitino). We find that the inclusive two tau jets and three tau jets plus missing energy signatures could be observable at Run II of the Tevatron. We also find that the distribution in angle between the two highest E_T tau jets when they come from same sign tau leptons can be used to distinguish this model from the others

Seropositivity of Toxoplasmosis in Antenatal Women with Bad Obstetric History in a Tertiary-care Hospital of Andhra Pradesh, India

Toxoplasmosis is a well-documented cause of bad obstetric history (BOH) and a major reason of congenitally-acquired infection. The study was conducted to determine the seropositivity of toxoplasmosis in women with BOH, attending the antenatal clinic of the Mamata General Hospital, Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The study subjects included 105 antenatal women with BOH and 105 antenatal women who had previous normal deliveries. A serological evaluation was carried out to determine the presence of Toxoplasma gondii-specific IgG and IgM antibodies, using commercial diagnostic kits, by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method. The seropositivity for Toxoplasma was 49.52% in the study group compared to 12.38% in the control group. The difference in seropositivity was significant (p=0.00). The seroprevalence gradually increased with advancing age. Abortion (51.92%) was the commonest form of pregnancy wastage, followed by stillbirths (36.53%) and premature deliveries (7.69%). The seropositivity of toxoplasmosis was significantly higher in the study group than that in the control group, and the seropositivity played an important role in determining the foetal outcome. Considering the subclinical pattern of infection, routine serological test is recommended for all pregnant women for both IgG and IgM antibodies
