Magneto-dielectric and Magneto-resistive in the Mixed Spinel MgFe2O4
The mixed spinel, MgFe2O4 has been synthesized by ball-milling assisted
sintering method. X-ray diffraction study confirms formation of cubic MgFe2O4
and the lattice parameter values calculated are a = b = c = 8.369(3) {\AA}.
Vibrating sample magnetometer measurements at room temperature shows a soft
ferrimagnetic nature. Magneto-Dielectric and Magneto-Restive plots confirm
coupling at room temperature in the prepared MgFe2O4. The peak at 500 Oe in the
MD plot is due to the canting of Fe3+ ions distributed in octahedral and

A Study about the Impact of Nutrition Education and Awareness of Food Safety among Women SHG Members
Foods prepared in unorganized sector is unique in India as these measures food processing units are diverse in size and location, in the absence of quality control measures, poor quality packaging material, improper transportation, use of contaminated water, high turn-over of food handlers, lack of personnel hygiene and non judicious use of colorants and preservatives, these unit pose considerable food safety hazards. These days the women Self Help Groups (SHG) are implementing a large number of village cottage industries especially food processing industries. These industries are considered as unorganized sector .These informal sector need food safety education. Hence the present study has been designed with the aim to create awareness amongst women who are involved in food processing trade in unorganized sector with regard to various parameters like adopting food safety and hygienic method, food safety laws for food production.Food Safety; Nutrition Education; Women Self Help Groups; India
Employment, Income and Labour Supply Decision of Rural Households : An Economic Analysis of MGNREGS in Tamil Nadu
In India, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGMGNREGS) is one of the major rural development programmes. It provides guaranteed employment to the rural households for 100 days in a year. This paper has attempted to find out the employment status, income and labour supply decision of the participants and non-participants of MGNREGS in Tamil Nadu. It has also studied the household nutritional security of these households. The study has revealed that the number of migrants in the family, number of livestock units owned, and number of person-days employed in agriculture, nonagriculture and MGNREGS are significantly influenced by the household income of the participants and non-participants of MGNREGS. The analysis of household food-security has shown that the expenditure for all commodities, viz. leisure, cereals, pulses, oils, fruits & vegetables, milk, chicken and fish are positive and significant in the case of MGNREGS participants, whereas the expenditure variable is significant only for two commodities, viz. cereals and oils in case of MGNREGS non-participants. It shows that the MGNREGS participants consume more high-value commodities like milk, chicken and fish, as compared to MGNREGS non-participants. The labour supply decision of sample respondents has shown that the elasticity of labour supply with respect to wage rate is more than one in both participants and non-participants of MGNREGS, indicating that an one per cent increase in wage rate increases labour supply by 1.92 per cent and 2.36 per cent, respectively. In addition, as the number of dependents increases, the household increases labour supply to derive additional income to meet the increased household expenditures. Estimation of population mean in two– stage sampling under a deterministic response mechanism in the presence of non-response
In the present paper, we have considered the problem of estimation of population mean in the presence of non-response under two-stage sampling. Two different models of non-response with deterministic response mechanism have been discussed in the paper. The estimators under two non-response models have been developed by using Hansen and Hurwitz (1946) technique. The expressions for the variances and estimates of variance of these estimators have been derived. The optimum values of sample sizes have been obtained by considering a suitable cost function for a fixed variance. A limited simulation study has been carried out to examine the magnitude of percent relative loss (% RL) in standard error due to non-response. Bulk and surface modification of TiO2 with sulfur and silver: Synergetic effects of dual surface modification in the enhancement of photocatalytic activity
Sulfur ion (S6+) was incorporated into the TiO2 lattice (Ti0.85S0.15O2) using sulfur powder as precursor. 0.05% of silver was deposited on the surface of Ti0.85S0.15O2 by photoinduced deposition method. The photocatalytic reactivity of TiO2, Ag-TiO2, Ti0.85S0.15O2 and Ag-Ti0.85S0.15O2 photocatalysts were probed for the degrdn. of a model compd. congo red (CR) dye under UV/solar light illumination. FTIR and XPS results suggested that the dopant sulfur ion (S6+) was incorporated into the TiO2 crystal lattice at Ti4+ lattice site and the sulfur ions on the surface were modified as SO42- active sites serving as electron withdrawing group. TEM and XPS anal. of Ag-Ti0.85S0.15O2 has confirmed the deposition of silver in the Ag0 state. Ag-Ti0.85S0.15O2 shows better photoactivty under solar light irradn. when compared to all the other photocatalysts. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of this catalyst is attributed to the synergetic effects of the incorporated dopant electronic energy level with the dual surface modifications of the type SO42- active centers and Schottky junctions created by metallic Ag0. Further the deposited Ag particles plays a dual role one as a sensitizer due to the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) effect and also acts as an electron trapper under solar light illumination reducing the recombination of photogenerated charge carriers
Multiwalled carbon nanotube-based patch antenna for bandwidth enhancement
A novel carbon nanotube (CNT)-based rectangular microstrip antenna for wide impedance bandwidth applications has been designed and developed. The copper patch commonly placed on the substrate in a conventional rectangular microstrip antenna is replaced with a CNT patch prepared using spin coating. The MWCNT patch antenna was fabricated by spin coating method and it exhibits an increased impedance bandwidth of 20. The enhancement of the impedance bandwidth does not affect the broadside radiation characteristics. The carbon nanotubes are highly conductive nanomaterial. Due to this unique property, each nanotube present on the surface resonates electromagnetic waves individually and influences the enhancement in the bandwidth. The simple design and fabrication of the proposed antenna can be employed for synthetic aperture radar applications. © 2017 Elsevier B.V
