    Bow-Tie Microstrip Antenna Design

    In this paper, the bow-tie microstrip antennas have been designed with two different angles of 40° and 80°. An investigaton on the effect of the angle to the return loss and radiation patterns had been carried out. The impedance matching network with the niicrostrip transmission line feeding was used in this study. Simulation and measurement results for the return loss and radiation patterns were presented

    Hadirnya teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) serta teknologi digital lainnya termasuk internet, telah menjadi media baru dan dijadikan sebagai instrumen penting bagi organisasi swasta (bisnis) dan organisasi publik, salah satunya adalah organisasi pemerintahan. Pemanfaatan TIK dan internet pada organisasi pemerintahan dikenal dengan istilah e-government. Pelaksanaan e-government bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi, efektifitas, transparansi, dan akuntabilitas penyelenggaraan pemerintahan, sehingga tercapai penyelenggaraan pemerintahan yang baik (good governance). Sementara, TIK dan internet sebagai media dalam proses demokrasi suatu negara dikenal dengan istilah e-demokrasi. Kedua istilah tersebut adalah dua entitas yang berbeda, tetapi saling terkait. Perkembangan TIK dan internet beberapa tahun terakhir yang diikuti oleh peningkatan penggunanya adalah merupakan peluang bagi lembaga-lembaga pemerintah dan partai politik untuk melakukan Perubahan sistem, baik sistem administrasi, pelayanan publik maupun sistem demokrasi. Namun, inisiatif penerapan e-demokrasi di Indonesia masih dikatakan sebagai tahap pengenalan. Sehingga, banyak masalah yang perlu menjadi perhatian sebelum e-demokrasi diimplementasikan. E-demokrasi tidak sekedar mengimplementasikan TIK dan internet ke dalam sistem demokrasi, tetapi banyak aspek-aspek nontechnology yang menjadi hambatan dan perlu penyelesaian. Hambatan pertama adalah terkait dengan implementasi e-government yang telah di laksanakan di Indonesia selama ini. Beberapa hambatan lain yang teridentifikasi diantaranya adalah masalah belum adanya nomer identitas warganegara yang valid, masalah budaya birokrasi dan budaya politik, masalah kesenjangan digital, masalah partisipasi, masalah teknologi, dan masalah organisasi

    Cervical cancer is a Malignancy grows in the cervix. Cervical cancer ranks as the fourth most common cancer in women worldwide. This disease can be detected early by Pap smear and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA). Indirect female sex worker (FSW) have a higher risk of cervical cancer. The aim of this study is to reveal the correlation between knowledge and attitude towards the behaviour of indirect FSW at hotspot X District Marpoyan Damai Pekanbaru about Pap smear and VIA as an early detection of cervical cancer. The method of this research is analytic corss sectional. Population is indirect FSW living in the hotspot X and samples were taken with total sampling method to 43 people trough interviews using questionnaire. The results showed that among 43 FSWs, 28 people (65.1%) aged less than 26 years old, 25 people (58.2%) have Junior High School (JHS), 21 people (48.8%) have poor knowledge, 24 people (55.8%) have a negative attitude and 33 people (76.7%) did test. There is no correlation between knowledge and attitude (p=0.063), no correlation between knowledge and behaviour (p=1.000) and no correlation between attitude and behaviour (p=0.302). it is concluded that the majority of indirect FSW at hotspot X have bad knowledge, negative attitude but have behaviour an early detection of cervical cance

    The purpose of this research was to know the effect of the learning models on the learning achievement and mathematics communication ability viewed from the spatial quotient. The learning models compared were Inquiry learning, Discovery learning and Classical model. The type of this study was a quasi-experimental study with a 3 x 3 factorial design. The study population was all grade VIII students of Junior High School in Solo city. Sample was collected by stratified cluster random sampling and consisted of 260 students which where divided into three groups, 86 students in Experimental Group 1, 86 students in Experimental Group 2, and 88 students in Control Group . The instruments of the research include mathematics achievement test, mathematics communication ability test and spatial intelligence test. The technique of analyzing data used the two-way multivariate analysis of variance with unbalanced cell. The results of this research could be concluded as follows , (1) Inquiry Learning and Discovery Learning have better learning achievement and mathematics communication ability aspects than the Classical learning, Besides that, Inquiry Learning and Discovery Learning have the same learning achievement and mathematics communication ability; (2) The students with high spatial intelligence have the same learning achievement and mathematics communication ability as middle spatial intelligence. In addition, students who have high and middle spatial intelligence have better learning achievement and mathematics communication ability than students who have low spatial intelligence.; (3) In each learning model, the students with high and middle spatial intelligence have better learning achievement and mathematics communication ability than students who have low spatial intelligence, and the students with high and middle spatial intelligence have the same learning achievement and mathematics communication ability; (4) In each of the spatial intelligence, the cooperative learning model of Inquiry Learning and Discovery Learning give a better learning achievement and mathematics communication ability than the Classical model, and the cooperative learning model of Inquiry Learning and Discovery Learning give the same learning achievement and mathematics communication ability

    Biochar's cost constraints are overcome in small‐scale farming in tropical soils in lower‐income countries

    Biochar has been lauded for its potential to mitigate climate change, increase crop yields and reverse land degradation in tropical agricultural systems. Despite its benefits, confusion persists about whether the use of biochar is financially feasible as a soil ameliorant. A comprehensive review of previous studies of biochar's financial feasibility was performed (33 relevant publications). Financial performance appraisal (USMg‐1biochar)andgreenhousegasabatementcostestimates(US Mg‐1 biochar) and greenhouse gas abatement cost estimates (US Mg‐1 CO2e) were used to gauge the financial feasibility of the biochar scenarios within each publication. Ordinary Least Squares Multiple Linear Regression was used to evaluate the predictive capacity of scenario financial feasibility as dependent on variables including national income levels, climatic conditions, pyrolysis technology scales and pyrolysis capabilities. Analysis revealed that scenarios where biochar was applied targeting yield increases in high‐value crops in tropical locations with low incomes and biochar‐focused small‐scale production, were overall significant predictors of biochar scenario financial feasibility. We find that the average abatement cost of biochar applied in ‘lower‐income countries' is ‐US58Mg‐1CO2e(financiallyfeasible)comparedwith+US58 Mg‐1 CO2e (financially feasible) compared with +US93 Mg‐1 CO2e in ‘higher‐income countries' (not financially feasible). Climate policies of lower‐income countries in tropical climates should consider biochar as an input for small‐scale climate smart agriculture to address land degradation in tropical agricultural systems. Based on recent evidence it is suggested that biochar fertilizers, a value‐added biochar product, could present a commercially feasible pathway for biochar value‐chain development in higher‐income countries

Then the production of this book was done by interview, observation, literature and existing studies are useful for determining the design concept. Through analysis of the theme of concept design is obtained Rescue Culture. The concept of the stretcher to be a theme in the book-making, and taking pictures, which showed that most of the traditional food is all around us. Results of a book deal is expected to help increase public awareness that it is important to preserve the local product with regard to its existence

    Taguchi Method for Development of Mass Flow Rate Correlation Using Hydrocarbon Refrigerant Mixture in Capillary Tube

    The capillary tube is an important control device used in small vapor compression refrigeration systems such as window air-conditioners, household refrigerators and freezers. This paper develops a non-dimensional correlation based on the test results of the adiabatic capillary tube for the mass flow rate through the tube using a hydrocarbon refrigerant mixture of 89.3% propane and 10.7% butane (HCM). The Taguchi method, a statistical experimental design approach, was employed. This approach explores the economic benefit that lies in studies of this nature, where only a small number of experiments are required and yet valid results are obtained. Considering the effects of the capillary tube geometry and the inlet condition of the tube, dimensionless parameters were chosen. The new correlation was also based on the Buckingham Pi theorem. This correlation predicts 86.67% of the present experimental data within a relative deviation of -10% to +10%. The predictions by this correlation were also compared with results in published literature
