    THE INFLUENCE OF SELF-EFFICACY, TASK VALUE, AND GOAL ORIENTATION ON HELP-SEEKING AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

    Purpose of the study: This study aimed to investigate the influence of task-value, goal orientation and self-efficacy on the help-seeking of the students, and thereafter on the academic performance. Methodology: To carry out research findings, a quantitative survey was applied by employing a self-regulated online learning questionnaire (SOL-Q), and a Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ).A total of 317 university Arabic learners participated in the present study. Analysis of data used SPSS version 22 software. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data and to examine the relationship among learners’ help-seeking, motivation, and learners’ GPA. Main Findings: The results of the present study provide support to the motivational beliefs (SE and TV) predict help-seeking, and students who endorsed high self-efficacy are more likely seeking help from others, and achieve high performance as well. Applications of this study: This study will enable faculty management, instructors, and students to better understand the essential role of help-seeking and motivational factors in Arabic language learning. Novelty/Originality of this study: The case of Self-Efficacy, Task Value, Goal Orientation, Help-Seeking, and Academic Performance were widely explained by the number of researchers. But there is no recent publication that has explained the influence of Self-Efficacy, Task Value, and Goal Orientation on Help-Seeking within the Arabic learning context

    MALAYSIAN STUDENTS' SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT TO THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS IN EGYPT, MOROCCO, AND JORDAN

    Purpose of the study: This study examines the social adjustment of Malaysian students studying in Egypt, Morocco, and Jordan. Quantitative, comparative and case study methods were used. Methodology: Through the questionnaire, in which the social adjustment of the students to the university campus was defined, a total of 587 questionnaires were answered by Malaysian students studying in the three countries. SPSS software was used to carry out the calculation of the mean, t-test, ANOVA and Tukey HSD analysis. Main Findings: The outcome of the analysis shows that Malaysian male and female students reached the medium level of social adjustment in the three countries. The differences in the means of female and male responses have no significance. Malaysian student's adjustment to the class climate was higher than that of the environment outside. Malaysian students more adjusted with a university campus in Jordan and Egypt than they are in Morocco. Applications of this study: This study showed a view of conditions Malaysian students in Jordan, Morocco, and Egypt. It will be helpful for students, universities, teachers to be aware of foreign students’ social adjustment issues and pay more attention to this particular problem. Novelty/Originality of this study: This paper found Malaysian students are more adjusted to the university campus in Jordan and Egypt than they are in Morocco. This suggests that Morocco is a better destination for study for Malaysian students as long as the social adjustment is concerned

    This paper attempts to look at the history of the establishment of an Islamic high institution based on the spirit of mutual understanding, unification, and cooperation in the process of strategic planning of Muslims in Southern Thailand. This paper is also to show that the teachings of Islam and its colleges are comprehensive (syumul) and not all that brought by modernized currents are rejected by Islam. The purpose of this study in addition to analyzing the history of the establishment of Islamic university institutions in Southern Thailand, the author tries to read the history of the establishment of an Islamic higher education institution in Pattani, to impact the history of manifestation and development in the field of Islamic universities that became the basic for the construction of  muslims realized in the program and aspect of socio-economic reform of the ummah which is also part of Islamic dakwah. This review will examine the history of Islamic education grow that occurred at the Islamic University of Islamic College Songkla Nakharin University Pattani  South Thailand. As such, this review will be an important guide and reference for colleges, Islamic college centers and institutions of  Islamic universities in Thailand and especially the Islamic College of  Islamic University of Songkla Nakharin University Pattani campus, Thailand

    THE EFFECT OF USING POSSE STRATEGY IN TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT COMPREHENSION READING SKILLS AMONGST SIXTH GRADERS

    Purpose of the study: This study aims to measure the effectiveness of using P.O.S.S.E strategy in the development of teaching to improve reading comprehension skills for sixth-grade students. Methodology: The procedure used is an experimental method based on Stratified Sampling which consists of 43 students divided into two groups – a control group of 21 students and an experimental group of 22 students- and a lesson plan was designed as a tool. Main Findings: The outcomes of the study indicated that the POSSE strategy has a positive effect on the development of reading comprehension skills over its five levels among the representative sample of sixth graders. Applications of this study: It is an essential reference in the development of teaching and training teachers to adapt to the P.O.S.S.E strategy for teachers, student educators. Novelty/Originality of this study: The result of this study is consistent with previous studies, which investigated the efficacy of POSSE strategy on the development of reading comprehension skills

    READABILITY OF THE SECOND GRADE ARABIC LANGUAGE BOOKS IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

    Purpose of the study: This study aims to measure the readability of Second Grade Arabic Language books in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Methodology: This paper discusses a quantitative survey conducted, based on previous studies which include Momni and Momni (2011), Nasser and Ibrahimi (2013) and Lami and Zoaeni (2014), to examine readability problems in Arabic language books used in UAE schools. The researchers developed a Cloze Test and performed the test on a randomly selected sample of 387 Second Grade students. Both descriptive and inferential statistics (T-Test, ANOVA) were analysed using SPSS version 22 and to examine the readability of Second Grade Arabic Language books. Main Findings: The result indicates that the students’ average score in all the readability levels to the total score of the Cloze Test is at an unsatisfactory level. There are significant differences in the level of the poetic and prose texts’ readability among the genders and different academic averages. Applications of this study: This study provides evidence that the long-term goal of the Abu Dhabi Educational Council (ADEC) has yet to be achieved. The outcomes suggest that there is a need to improve students' readability of Arabic Language books in the UAE, starting from the Second Grade. Novelty/Originality of this study: Readability of Arabic Language Book was widely explained by other researchers, but there is no study conducted on Second Grade students in UAE
