Sasanian Seals from the Collection of the late Edward Gans is a publication that accompanied the digital publication of the Gans Collection on the now-retired Sasanian Empire project on the Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative in 2001. It was meant to function as a brief introduction to the digital collection, the cataloging of the objects, and to overview a series of articles that were also made available on the ECAI website. It is also useful for the mention it makes of the many students who contributed to work on the Collection. Since for many years it was the only publication about the Gans Collection that circulated among scholars, it has seemed best to keep it available at a consistent digital location
