To use eHealth effectively in geriatric rehabilitation, it is essential to understand the experiences and needs of healthcare professionals. In this international multicentre cross-sectional study, we used a web-based survey to explore the use, benefits, feasibility and usability of eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation settings, together with the needs of working healthcare professionals. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize quantitative findings. The survey was completed by 513 healthcare professionals from 16 countries. Over half had experience with eHealth, although very few (52 of 263 = 20%) integrated eHealth into daily practice. Important barriers to the use or implementation of eHealth included insufficient resources, lack of an organization-wide implementation strategy and lack of knowledge. Professionals felt that eHealth is more complex for patients than for themselves, and also expressed a need for reliable information concerning available eHealth interventions and their applications. While eHealth has clear benefits, important barriers hinder successful implementation and integration into healthcare. Tailored implementation strategies and reliable information on effective eHealth applications are needed to overcome these barriers
The Effects of SARS COV 2 Infection –Does a Depression Pandemic Follow?
Viral infections can be a cause of CNS infection, causing mental and neurological symptoms. Even under normal conditions, good mental health is of paramount importance to the functioning of society. Healthcare workers are critical to the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, but may have to leave work if their mental health is affected. We present the favorable evolution of a patient, a 55 year-old woman, medical staff with a history of viral infection with SARS CoV-2 (August 2020), which is brought by a crew of the Ambulance service in the emergency department (ED) service (December 2020) for multi-drug ingestion for suicide. After treatment and investigations she is transferred to the “Elena Doamna” Psychiatric Hospital. After 4 days of hospitalization, he returns to the emergency department by transfer from the Psychiatric Hospital for underlying seizures, confusion syndrome. During her admission to the neurology service of the “Sf Ap. Andrei” Emergency Clinical Hospital, the patient benefited from numerous clinical and paraclinical investigations, which provided information about the patient's neuropsychiatric evolution.</p
Emotional Exhaustion and Professional Satisfaction During Covid-19 Pandemic at the Level of Emergency Department Staff
Introduction: Burnout is a syndrome conceptualized as result of the chronic stress at the work place which was not successfully managed. The possible negative effects on the medical staff, the patients and the health institutions have generated interest and motivated the research to understand the possible causes, these effects also influence the burnout predictors. The medical services suppliers within the emergency department have had one of the greatest exhaution occurences even before the pandemic. Being in the first line in contact with the suspected patients or confirmed with COVID-19 infection intensifies this fact. Both the working factors (working hours, years of practice, number of treated patients, professional development activities) and the socio- demographic factors (age, sex, civil status, income, education) are associated with the exhaustion at the work place.Material and methods: I have studied a total of 120 participants, receiving 115 valid questionnaires, the answering ratio being 95,83%. This was a descriptive, multicentre, transversal study of the medical and the auxiliary staff within the department UPU-SMURD of the County Clinic Emergency Hospital “Sf. Ap. Andrei” Galați. The staff gave their consent and attended a combined interview which consisted of a pilot questionnaire and a demographic questionnaire. Results and discussions: The average score of exhaustion at the staff level was 3.25, a great percentage of the doctors within the ED (45.8%), (n=24) indicates an increased level of exhaustion, only 26.8% (n=80) of nurses show an increased level of exhaustion. The average score of the stress level shown by the staff is 3.1, 66.6% (n=24) among which the doctors with an increased stress level 9.1% (n=9) auxiliary staff, 23.8% (n=80) of nurses. Conclusions: The results show us a high exhaustion, stress and depression ratio at the emergency doctors in comparison with the other professional categories within the ED. A high level of professional satisfaction is accompanied by an increased level of stress and of self-esteem.</p
Periodontal Tissue Reaction Consecutive Implantation of Endodontic Materials and Subsequent Integration of Complex Oral Rehabilitation Treatments
Oral rehabilitation is a main branch of dentistry focused on diagnosing the patient’s problem and creating a treatment plan to restore aesthetics, recondition morphologically all components, and recover the functionality of the oral cavity. Biological compatibility of the materials used has a major importance, due to the direct contact with essential tissues, such as the soft and hard tissue of the periodontium and the potential influence on the outcome of the treatment. The present material aims to assess the inflammatory response after subcutaneous implantation of three materials frequently used in endodontics (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate—MTA, DiaRoot BioAggregate, and Sealapex). The evaluation of the reparative tissue reaction after 7, 30, and 60 days, respectively, subsequent to in vivo implantation, was carried out through electron microscopy imaging. Moreover, evaluation of the dynamics of the osteogenesis process was an indicator for the maintenance of internal homeostasis in the context of complex intraoral rehabilitation treatments that include fixed prosthodontics correlated with the particular periodontal-aesthetic aspects and completed by cranio-mandibular repositioning. Our study showed increased absolute values of alkaline phosphatase in all material-implanted cases (more pronounced in MTA and Bio Aggregate), highlighting that this enzyme could be an effective indicator of bone formation, which takes place after the material implantation, with the most significant elevated values at 30 days postoperatively

Medical and legal aspects of elderly patients with dementia
Abstract: The past 50 years is witness to a continuous process of demographic transition that affecting both developed countries and developing. World's population is aging and ageing itself is a triumph of our times, a reflection of improving overall health, hygiene and socio-economic development. On the other hand, the alarming rise in the percentage of elderly in the total population has generated problems with consequences reflected national and individual level. Alzheimer disease and other dementias represent a major public health burden associated with aging and will generate important social, economic and medical problems. For those patients it is necessary to assure the equitable access to medical care and treatment, the respect of patient's dignity, the support in struggling against the stigmatization, protection against any abuse. Age is the most frequently mentioned reason for discrimination in Europe and applies especially to old age. The existence of abuse at the elderly, especially to those very dependent, like patients with dementia, is well documented being a major concern and a subject for action in the EU. Key Words: dementia, elderly, protection. Along with this phenomenon was observed increase medical services to this population-segment indicating also the fragility of the elderly. This fragility consists in polipatologia by organic diseases (cerebralcardio-vascular and osteoarticular) but also (especially) cognitive impairment, dementia, profoundly altering the quality of life of these patients. A report by the Alzheimer Society of 2004 (Wimo A. et al.) brings up a troubling statistic: every five years the prevalence of dementia doubles life. So if the age group 65-69 years the prevalence of dementia is 1.5% at 70-74 years -3% of the population 90-94 years the prevalence reaches 34% and over 95 years is more than 45%. Age can be considered the main risk factor for dementia. Age is also the most frequently mentioned reason for discrimination in Europe and applies especially to old age. In the last years an increase of 16% of discrimination against old people has been noticed Dementia, a faster detection, less suffering Dementia represents a group of affections characterized by a global intellectual deterioration
Relation between LDH and Mg as Factors of Interest in the Monitoring and Prognoses of Cancer
International audienceThe aim of this work was to evaluate the correlation between the serum levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and magnesium (Mg) alone or in report Ca/Mg, among patients with diagnosed malignant diseases who were admitted to the oncology department of a county hospital. Results: Among the patients in this study, 55 patients (73%) exhibited normal serum levels of Mg (normal range value = 1.60-2.3 mg/dL; mean value = 2.2 mg/dL; SD = 0.2; p = 0.02), normal values for Ca (range 9.1-10.8 mg/100 m, mean value = 9.90, SD = 2.5, P = 0.05) and normal report Ca/Mg (range 4.5-7), following cancer therapy with good results, in the stage of remission tumor. A number of 12 patients (16%), which was discovered in onset of cancer diseases, displayed high levels of serum Mg (range =2.6-3.27 mg/dL; mean value = 2.89 mg/dL), high values of Ca, (mean value = 11.2 mg/dl), and low values of report Ca/Mg (range = 1.7-3.8). Six patients (8%), with bad prognostic, unfavorable cancer therapy and frequent relapses, exhibited low levels of Mg (range = 0.60-1.50 mg/dl; mean value = 1.05 mg/dL), low values of Ca (8.2-8.8 mg/dl) but high report Ca/Mg (range = 8.3-23.5). High Ca/Mg ratio was also significantly associated with high-grade cancer. The levels of serum lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) were also evaluated in patients newly diagnosed with cancer and in patients with unfavorable responses to the cancer therap
