In this era of information and technology engaging around us, knowledge has been made the essential foundation to build a modern and dynamic generation of a country. Even our holy book of guidance, the Quran, has repeatedly called believers to continue to seek knowledge as a way to transform ourselves as vicegerents of the Almighty. Chapter 45, verse 13 of the Quran, emphasized that knowledge is the perfect medium for us to reflect and understand the attributes of Allah through his creations. Thus, as the generation of this modernized era, we should consistently seek the opportunity to increase our knowledge in various aspects, be it spiritually or otherwise. To this, it cannot be denied that most of our knowledge is attained through a formal educational institution, specifically schools. Such an institution provides convenient learning space, ambiance, and facilities to mould the students into a figure that is well equipped with concrete facts and information, as well as the fundamental communication skills needed. The assistance of schools in shaping these students give out great importance since they are considered to be future leaders. Focus and emphasis should be channelled to improvise the characteristics of the youth of today, as we know by nurturing them to become successful leaders of tomorrow should be carried out at a young age. In China seas, Malakka strait has been a center of trade zone for Asian countries today. It has been a strategic maritime root where kingdoms of Majapahit, Tiriwizara, Malakka Kingdom, Pagan, Hantawaddy and Konbong Kingdoms of Myanmar benefited tremendously. Trade and diplomatic relationship Between China and Burma has been traditionally excellent till date for they are connected by land as well as sea. Burma, presently called Myanmar has been an important country from the perspective of geo-politics in the region, but the history of Muslims with the population of 5 million in this country beyond the Second World War II has been worse to the extent, they are struggling for survival. Muslims have been living in Myanmar for the last few thousand years. The previous Buddhist rulers of the country and the British administration that followed, provided full rights of citizenship to them without discrimination. Thus, they enjoyed every segment of life, business, the community, society, educational institutions and politics. In the light of these welcoming circumstances, Muslims were happy to contribute to the nation by joining the army, the police force, government institutions such as health care, education, trade, business, agriculture as well as in politics and as legislators in the parliament of Myanmar. Nevertheless, their unfortunate history began when military rule came into power in 1962. All the rights and responsibilities they had enjoyed over the years became restricted. Discrimination policies were applied in every segment of national institutions even their citizenship rights were threatened. The discrimination continued to the extent that their racial status as one of the 145 races of Myanmar was removed. Consequently, frequent riots, afflictions and violence against Muslim minorities became the norm, resulting in a peaceful coexistence between Muslim minorities and the majority Buddhists becoming impossible. The objective of this paper was to research the historical existence and identification of Muslims in Myanmar. It is hoped that the findings of this work will support a theory of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Buddhists in Myanmar

Philosophy is a study of the fundamental of our existence, ideology, wisdom, Psyche, and values essential to understand the reality of every nature of humanity and the universe. It is known that the process of spiritual wellbeing can be identified through human mental power and wisdom. Thus, the philosophical approach to the understanding of spiritual development in family management is relatively appropriate. The spiritual wellbeing of a family is suggestively portrayed with humanistic and spiritual values such as mannerism, morality and conviction in religious belief. It is no doubt that a successful family is established by proper parental supervision followed by the appropriate participation of children. Thus, it is important to study every conduct and task of every family member, including parents. Moreover, there are signs of spiritual development that come along with every act of the family member. Therefore, the significance of notification in learning and teaching of those spiritual signs must be taken considerably. In addition, parents must continuously shadow the process of spiritual growth in their family because it will support its members derailing from the path of spiritual wellbeing. In this way, vivid growth of spiritual values, moralities, excellent ethics, and a good culture flourished in the family. This research is conducted through the qualitative research methodology, and it will be presented in the upcoming scholarship advancement symposium, 2021

    Muslims in Myanmar

Muslims of Myamar have been living in the country for more than one thousand years; yet their identities remained unanswered. Their lives are full of challenges and the frequent clashes between them and the Buddhists signify an uncomfortable atmosphere. Their life is an example of identity crisis prevailing in our contemporary world. Currently, their economic life, educational level, social, religious and political status is below the recognized standard. The alarming numbers of poor, jobless, destitute, uneducated, illiterate, refugees and locally displaced Muslims are on the rise. Once the social and moral values are at desperate level, maintaining Islamic identity for the Muslims of Myanmar is unthinkable. Since 2012 Myanmar has shown its desire to participate in democratization whereas many reform activities have taken place. However, the contributions of Muslims are still unacknowledged whether they themselves are inactive or are put aside. The current violence pertaining to Rohingya in the western part of Myanmar highlighted again the ailing episode of Muslims. The violence is seen frequently in Myanmar. It is suggested that the reason of affliction against the Muslims is Islamophobia. This book suggests to the Muslims of Myanmar that they need to solicit the minority status on the basis of religion so as to officially claim the right of minority as well as to enhance their literacy rate and educational standards, particularly in tertiary education by which they can be considered as an indispensable community in the process of democratization of the nation paving the way for ending disputes and see prosperity of the Muslims again

Previously known as Burma, Myanmar is famous for its Buddhism and the intriguing mix of British colonial architecture and gilded pagodas. Muslims have been living in Myanmar since the 11th century, and the population of Myanmar at the moment is roughly 55 million, based on the last census conducted by the ruling military government. It is estimated that 8 % or 5 million of the total population of Myanmar are Muslims. The country gained its independence from the British in 1948. Ever since its independence up until 1962, democracy was the system of rule in Myanmar. A military coup d'รฉtat happened in 1962, and from then on, the military was in power for almost 70 years. During military rule, the country plunged into a state of backwardness while its neighbours were progressively developing. The country's educational and economic developments were not at par with others around the region. Due to poor living conditions, many of its citizens left their homeland for neighbouring countries in search of job opportunities that promise a better future for their families. The absence of democracy also in a way forced around 1,500,000 people to leave the country as refugees and asylum seekers in search of peace, safety and security for themselves and their families

Empowering Women: Developing Social Status of Women Refugees living in Malaysia Principle author: Dr Maulana Akbar Shah @ U Tun Aung Women's empowerment can be described as promoting women's sense of self-worth, their capacity to decide their own choices, and their right to impact social transformation for themselves and others. It is closely associated with the fundamental human right that's also a key to attaining a more peaceful, prosperous world. Women's empowerment and issues of women's rights have developed as a part of a major international movement, and a day like International Women's management day is gaining momentum. But despite an excellent deal of progress, girls and women still face discrimination and violence in each part of the planet. Over the last few decades, there have been steady developments in women's empowerment. Gender-based discrimination is unreasonable and has no value. Women are still underpaid, expected to cook, and subject to parental restrictions. Women's empowerment is required to go above these obstacles and play an independent role in society. The basic right of women is to be empowered. They can engage equally in politics, economy, society, and education. They are regarded like males and given access to higher education. The dark period before the appearance of Islam in Arabia is even called by the Arabian people the period of ignorance. The people of that period believed women as a cause of indignity and embarrassment. They became ashamed and remorseful whenever they were told that their wives had given birth to daughters. Therefore, many of them buried their baby daughters alive, which was extremely brutal and savage. In Islam, a woman has a lawful personality, and who is able to enter into a contract or can make a bequest in her own name. The woman has the opportunity to execute any profession and has expertly to dispose of her property like men. She has full freedom to pick out her husband and is collectively allowed to her dower and maintenance. The following Quranic verses indicated the significance of women like they are a man because we are offspringโ€™s of our fathers and mothers who are man and women. Both of them are created by Allah SWT to establish a family so that we come to know each other. Then we started building our community after combining many families. This is clearly mentioned that man cannot alone live and build this world; it is a combined participation and effort of man and woman. Allah SWT Said: โ€œO humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may หนget toหบ know one another. Surely the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware. (49:13). A Threat of Polarization: Race, Religion, and Reform

    Get PDF
Lately, there seems to be a growing divide among people with varying beliefs, opinions, faiths, and ethnic backgrounds. This can cause a rift between individuals and groups, leading to polarization. Polarization refers to dividing people or groups into opposing factions or beliefs. A lack of communication and understanding between these groups often characterizes it. It's disheartening to see the polarization that still exists among different races and religions. It's a problem that has persisted for far too long and has caused so much pain and suffering. We need to work towards finding common ground and embracing our differences instead of letting them divide us. Only then we can truly move forward as a united and peaceful society. In the context of race, polarization can lead to increased tensions between different racial groups and a lack of empathy and understanding between them. This can result in discrimination, prejudice, and even violence. Polarization can also make it difficult to address systemic issues that disproportionately affect certain racial groups, as there may be a lack of consensus on the issues or how to address them. Ultimately, polarization in race can have negative impacts on individuals, communities, and society as a whole. Polarization can also manifest in inter-religious and intra-religious contexts. It can lead to increased tensions between different religious groups, as well as within the same religious community. This can result in a lack of responsiveness and tolerance between individuals of different faiths or denominations and can contribute to discrimination, prejudice, and even violence. Polarization within a religion can also lead to ideological divisions and schisms, which can further exacerbate inter-religious tensions. Ultimately, polarization in religion can have negative impacts on individuals, communities, and society as a whole. It is important to work towards promoting understanding and empathy between different religious groups and within the same religious community to prevent the negative effects of polarization. To address the issues of polarization in the race and religion sectors, we need to implement a reform process that can effectively resolve the underlying problems. Reform can play a crucial role in addressing the problems of racial and religious polarization. Promoting inclusivity and diversity, and challenging discriminatory practices and beliefs, can help bridge the divides between different groups. Reform can also encourage dialogue and understanding between individuals of different faiths and races and can create opportunities for cooperation and collaboration. Ultimately, reform can help build a more just, equitable, and harmonious society. The qualitative research methodology will be applied in this research and it will be published in an indexed journal this year, 2023
