Getting beta-alpha without penguins
Oscillation effects in B0 -> Ks D0 and related processes are considered to
determine delta=beta-alpha+pi. We suggest that D0 decays to CP eigenstates used
in concert with inclusive D0 decays provide a powerful method for determining
delta cleanly i.e. without any complication from penguin processes. The CP
asymmetry is expected to be <=40% for D0 decays to non-CP eigenstates and <=80%
for decays to CP eigenstates. This method can lead to a fairly accurate
determination of delta with O(10^8-10^9) B-mesons.Comment: 4 pages 1 figure; Version 2: minor changes; references added; Some

-odd and -even observables can both be used to extract information on
the real and imaginary parts of Feynman amplitudes. Two Higgs doublet model
with CP violating phase from neutral Higgs exchange is used to estimate

Role of Charm Factory in Extracting CKM-Phase Information via B --> DK
In this paper we study the impact of data that can be obtained from a Charm
Factory on the determination of the CKM parameter gamma from decays of the form
B -> D0 K where the D0 decays to specific inclusive and exclusive final states.
In particular, for each exclusive final state , the charm factory can
determine the strong phase difference between D0-> f and D0-bar -> f by
exploiting correlations in psi(3770)-> D0 D0-bar. This provides crucial input
to the determination of gamma via the interference of B+- -> K+- D0 -> f with
B+- -> K+- D0-bar -> f. We discuss how the method may be generalized to
inclusive final states and illustrate with a toy model how such methods may

Transverse Tau Polarization in Decays of the Top and Bottom Quarks in the Weinberg Model of CP Non-conservation
We show that the transverse polarization asymmetry of the -lepton in
the decay is extremely sensitive to CP violating
phases arising from the charged Higgs exchange in the Weinberg model of CP
non-conservation. Qualitatively, the polarization asymmetries are enhanced over
rate or energy asymmetries by a factor of . Thus for optimal values of the parameters the method requires top pairs to be observable rather than needed for rate or energy
asymmetries. We also examine polarization in b decays via and find that it can also be very effective in constraining the CP

QED corrections to isospin-related decay rates of charged and neutral B mesons
We estimate the isospin-violating QED radiative corrections to the
charged-to-neutral ratios of the decay rates for B^+ and B^0 in non-leptonic B
meson decays. In particular, these corrections are potentially important for
precision measurement of the charged-to-neutral production ratio of B meson in
e^+e^- annihilation. We calculate explicitly the QED corrections to the ratios
of two different types of decay rates \Gamma(B^+ \to J/\psi K^+)/\Gamma(B^0 \to
J/\psi K^0) and \Gamma(B^+ \to D^+_S \bar{D^0})/\Gamma(B^0 \to D^+_S D^-)
taking into account the form factors of the mesons based on the vector meson
dominance model, and compare them with the results obtained for the point-like

Determining the Phases alpha and gamma from Direct CP Violation in B_u, B_d and B_s Decays to Two Vectors
A method for clean determination of the unitarity angles alpha and gamma is
proposed that uses only direct CP violation and does not require any time
dependent measurements. The method takes advantage of helicity amplitudes for
B_u, B_d and B_s decay to two vector mesons and can be used, at any B-facility,
in conjunction with a large number of modes. It also allows for experimental
tests of theoretical approximations involved.Comment: 12 pages, no figure
The exclusive \bar{B} --> \pi e^+ e^- and \bar{B} --> \rho e^+ e^- decays in the two Higgs doublet model with flavor changing neutral currents
We calculate the leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the matrix element of
the decay b --> d e^+ e^- in the two Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor
changing currents (model III). We continue studying the differential branching
ratio and the CP violating asymmetry for the exclusive decays B --> \pi e^+ e^-
and B --> \rho e^+ e^- and analysing the dependencies of these quantities on
the selected model III parameters, \xi^{U,D}, including the leading logarithmic
QCD corrections. Further, we present the forward-backward asymmetry of
dileptons for the decay B --> \rho e^+ e^- and discuss the dependencies to the
model III parameters. We observe that there is a possibility to enhance the
branching ratios and suppress the CP violating effects for both decays in the
framework of the model III. Therefore, the measurements of these quantities
will be an efficient tool to search the new physics beyond the SM.Comment: 27 pages, 14 Figure
Two body decays of the -quark: Applications to direct CP violation, searches for electro-weak penguins and new physics
A systematic experimental search for two-body hadronic decays of the b-quark
of the type b to quark + meson is proposed. These reactions have a well defined
experimental signature and they should be theoretically cleaner compared to
exclusive decays. Many modes have appreciable branching ratios and partial rate
asymmetries may also be quite large (about 8-50%) in several of them. In a few
cases electroweak penguins appear to be dominant and may be measurable. CP
violating triple correlation asymmetries provide a clean test of the Standard

Texture of Yukawa coupling matrices in general two-Higgs-doublet model
We discuss possible parallel textures of the Yukawa coupling matrices in the
generaltwo-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). In those textures the flavor changing
neutral currentsare naturally suppressed. Motivated by a phenomenologically
successful texturewith four texture zeros in the standard model, we propose a
predictive ansatz for the Yukawa coupling matrices with the same texture in the
general 2HDM. Compared with the six texture-zero based ansatz proposed by Cheng
and Sher, it is in a better agreement with the data of quark mixings and CP
violation. The four texture-zero based ansatz predicts a different hierarchy in
the Yukawa coupling matrix elements. As a consequence, in the lepton sector,
the related Yukawa couplings are less constrained by the experimental upper
bound of , which allows significantly larger predictions for
other processes. The contributions from neutral scalar interactions to the
lepton number violation decay modes are
calculated in both ansatz. It is shown that the predictions from the four
texture-zero based ansatz could be two order of magnitude greater than that
from the six texture-zero based one. The branching ratio of and
can reach and 1.3\tiems 10^{-10}
respectively. The predicted ratio of is also
larger and almost parameter independent. Those differences make the two ansatz
to be easily distinguished by the future experiments.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figure
Gravitational Scattering in the ADD-model Revisited
Gravitational scattering in the ADD-model is studied and it is argued that no
cut-off is needed for the exchange of virtual Kaluza--Klein modes. By
introduction of a small coordinate in the extra dimensions a unique form of the
Kaluza--Klein-summed propagator is found for an odd number of extra dimensions.
The matrix element corresponding to this propagator can also (as opposed to the
cut-offed version) be Fourier transformed to position space, giving back the
extra-dimensional version of Newton's law. For an even number of extra
dimensions the propagator is found by requiring that Newton's law should be
recovered
