Flerovium spectroscopy – benchmarking nuclear theory at proton number Z = 114
In the wake of the discovery of superheavy elements, nuclear spectroscopy experiments aim at providing anchor points at the uppermost end of the nuclear chart for nuclear structure theory, which otherwise had to solely rely on extrapolations. In two runs in 2019 and 2020, such a nuclear spectroscopy experiment was conducted to study α-decay chains stemming from isotopes of flerovium (element Z = 114). One incentive to study flerovium isotopes is that many, but not all, nuclear structure models or model parametrizations favour Z = 114 as the next magic proton number beyond lead, Z = 82

Measurement of the inclusive charmless semileptonic branching ratio of B mesons and determination of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar
We report a measurement of the inclusive charmless semileptonic branching fraction of B mesons in a sample of 89x10(6) B(b) over bar events recorded with the BABAR detector at the Y(4S) resonance. Events are selected by fully reconstructing the decay of one B meson and identifying a charged lepton from the decay of the other B meson. The number of signal events is extracted from the mass distribution of the hadronic system accompanying the lepton and is used to determine the ratio of branching fractions B((B) over bar --> X(u)l (v) over bar)/B((B) over bar --> Xl (v) over bar) = [2.06 +/- 0.25(stat) +/- 0.23(syst) +/- 0.36(theo)] x 10(-2). Using the measured branching fraction for inclusive semileptonic B decays, we find B((B) over bar --> X(u)l (V) over bar) = [2.24+/-0.27(stat) +/- 0.26(syst) +/- 0.39(theo)] x 10(-3) and derive the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element parallel toV(ub)parallel to = [4.62 +/- 0.28(stat) +/- 0.27(syst) +/- 0.48(theo)] x 10(-3)
The cost of email interruption
The use of email by employees at the Danwood Group was studied and it was found that the interrupt
effect from emails is more than generally believed. Employees allowed themselves to be interrupted almost as
frequently as telephone calls and the common reaction to the arrival of an email is to react almost as quickly as
they would respond to telephone calls. This means the interrupt effect is comparable with that of a telephone
call. The recovery time from an email interruption was found to be significantly less than the published recovery
time for telephone calls. It is to be concluded, therefore, that while Email is still less disruptive than the
telephone, the way the majority of users handle their incoming email has been shown to give far more
interruption than expected.
By analysing the data captured the authors have been able to create recommendations for a set of
guidelines for email usage within the workplace that will increase employee efficiency by reducing the
prominence of interruptions, restricting the use of email-to-all messages, setting-up the email application to
display three lines of the email and to check for email less frequently. It is recommended that training should be
given to staff on how to use email more effectively to increase employee productivity

The Guvano complex landslide in the Cinque Terre National Park, Italy: geomorphological characterization, GNSS monitoring and risk management
The \u201cGuvano landslide\u201d is located along the steep coastal slopes of Cinque Terre between the
villages of Vernazza and Corniglia (Eastern Liguria, NW Italy). It is an ancient and complex mass movement
that has been affected by several reactivation phenomena in hystorical and recent time. Nowadays the Guvano
landslides is partly dormant and partly still active, also due to the sea wave action at the slope toe. In the last
century geomorphological processes of remobilisation along different sector of the landslide area caused severe
damages to settlements, railway and roads, also involving currently the highly frequented trail network of Cinque
Terre National Park. In order to contribute to landslide risk management by the identification of proper mitigation
measures, the geomorphological characterization and the recent evolution of Guvano landslide, supported by
geotechnical investigations and a GNSS monitoring program, are presented
