Purpose: The purpose of the present work was Altmetrics study of research outputs in the field of social and behavioral sciences in major Iranian universities during 2010-2020. Methodology: The research outputs of the thematic domains of social and behavior of sciences major Iranian universities indexed in the Scopus database were reviewed. This applied research was conducted with a Altmetrics approach. Scopus and Altmetrics Explorer databases were used to collect data. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests in Excel software. Findings: Current study revealed Shahid Beheshti, Tehran, Tarbiat Modares, Tabriz, and Shiraz universities, in the field of social sciences, had the most ranks in items of Mentions and Bookmarks. In addition, in all the universities surveyed, the most mentions were on Twitter and the most bookmarks were on Mendeley. Conclusion: Overall, the findings showed that most of the surveyed universities were not in an acceptable position in terms of social media presence and Altmetrics score, indicating the lack of familiarity of the corresponding researchers with the benefits of social media and their low participation in sharing their research outputs on social media

Choosing the right title for a paper is essential for attracting readers and receiving citations, and various studies have been done on this subject. This research sought those papers citation rate with the country name ‘Iran’ in their title published during 2010-2014 using Web of Science citation index. It tried to identify highly cited papers, disciplines, distribution of papers by type and geography of the paper with this feature. Moreover, it observed the relationship between Iranian and international authors in the production of such papers and their citation rate. Using scientometric method, 12,026 papers with the word ‘Iran’ in the titles were examined, and their Web of Science database citations were analyzed from 2010 to 2014. Citation rates of papers written by Iranian researchers and researchers from other countries were compared according to the research questions. The results showed that the majority of these papers were produced in Iran, and among foreign countries, the United States had the highest share in producing such papers. Most of these papers were in geology, occupational health, and environmental science. Moreover, it was revealed that citation rate for papers containing Iran in the title has decreased over the years and the downward trend has been similar for national and international studies

The current study aims to calculate the relationship between Altmetric scores obtained from the observation and dissemination of digital library resources in the Dimensions database and the number of citations received in the Scopus database. Also, in another part of the research, the predictive power of the number of Scopus citations by Altmetric scores is examined. The present research is applied in terms of purpose and survey-descriptive in terms of type, which is done by the scientometric method and with an Altmetric approach. The statistical population of the study includes all articles in the field of digital libraries (24183 records) that are indexed in the Scopus citation database during 1960-2020. Dimensions database has been used to evaluate the Altmetric scores obtained from these articles on social networks. Due to the limited access to the required data in the Scopus database, 2000 highly cited articles in the field of digital libraries in this Scopus database were studied through the Dimensions database. The data collection tools are Scopus Citation Database and Dimensions Database. The required data is collected through the Scopus database. In this study, the studied indicators from the Dimensions database appear as the independent variable of the research. The dependent variables in this study are the number of citations to articles in the Scopus database. Correlation tests and multiple regression between the studied indices are used to examine the relationships between variables and perform statistical tests. The software used is Excel and SPSS version 23. The present study results show that the social networks Patent, Facebook, Wikipedia, and Twitter have the highest correlation with the number of citations in the Dimensions database. The social networks Blog, Google User, and Q&A do not significantly relate to the number of citations received in Dimensions. Patent social networks, Wikipedia, and Twitter have the highest correlation with the number of Scopus citations. In this case, the social networks of Blog, Google User, Pulse Source and Q&A do not significantly correlate with the number of citations received. Among the citation databases studied, Mendeley has the highest correlation between the numbers of citations. Other results indicate that the publication and viewing of documents on social networks cannot predict the number of citations in the Dimensions and Scopus databases.https://dorl.net/dor/20.1001.1.20088302.2022.20.4.10.

This study was aimed to evaluate the role of advertising in attracting audience for libraries affiliated to Iranian public libray institute based on the AIDA model in Tehran. This study was applied in terms of purpose and was analytical-survey research from the field studies branch in terms of the method. This study was conducted based on the AIDA model and the population consisted of members of public libraries affiliated to Tehran public library institute during the period from October 2015 to October 2016. The total number of public libraries\u27 members in Tehran was 39085 people. 379 people were selected as the sample based on the Cochran formula. The sampling method was stratified random based on the education component. The data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire by modeling Jamili brothers, Rabiee and Mohammadian questionnaire (2011). The data were analyzed by SPSS Softwwere in two levels of descriptive and inferential statistics. 338 questionnaires were returned from 379 studied samples. The results showed that advertising of Iranian public libraries was fauiled to pass the levels of AIDA model in Tehran. But it had the effectiveness lower than average. The results show that unawwereness of community about the libraries with diverse services and easy use has led to a gap between libraries and community in general and potential users in particular. One of the essential causes of the advertising inefficiency was excessive concentration of advertising on the library itself (location). The opinions of the public libraries\u27 members in Tehran city show that unawwereness about the existence of the library and the various services that can be provided even has led to a gap among members. Therefore, Iranian public library institute in general, provincial general offices and cities secondarily, and in particular libraries themselves should use all their facilities to remove the barriers of the distance between the referees and the libraries. This problem can be solved to a large extent by extensive advertising

Current research attempts to investigate the views of librarians of Iranian academic central libraries on the use of (IOT) in Iranian academic libraries. The present study employed in a descriptive and survey method. The statistical population of the study was 298 librarians of the central libraries in the top universities of Iran including Isfahan, Amir Kabir, Tehran, Tarbiat Modares, Shahid Beheshti, Tabriz, Ferdowsi, Shiraz, Khaje Nasir al-Din Tousi, Sharif, Elm-o- San’at) Science and Industry). Sampling was done by simple random sampling. The Cochran formula was used to determine the sample size. Considering the 95% confidence level and after the numerical values were placed in the corresponding formula [n = (Za / 2 × σ) / ε] ^ 2, the sample size was obtained as 168. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. Among the questionnaires distributed by email, 113 questionnaires were collected. Validity of the questionnaire was measured by a number of Library and Information Science experts. To assess the reliability of the questionnaire, the Cronbach\u27s alpha coefficient was used. The reliability of all components of the questionnaire was greater than 0.70. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS version 20 software and statistical indictors like frequency and mean. The Internet of Things, according to the tools provided by the libraries, is able to increase the speed of provision of services and perform the activities related to such services (for example, book exhibitions, meetings, etc.) with more ease. Libraries are always exposed to damages such as fire and accidents due to the old infrastructure. In addition, libraries face specific damages alongside their functions, which must be managed in order to minimize them. Theft of resources that is sometimes irrelevant in some libraries is one of the damages that libraries face and need to tackle it. In both cases, unplanned incidents and robbery, the use of IOT technology can be very useful. Of course, if the library building is located on the columns and the sections can be easily separated, you can provide more space without having to spend much time and manpower through the use of sensors installed on the equipment for libraries that lack space. Research findings revealed that Iranian librarians pointed to the benefits of IOT in retrieving accurate information related to the needs of users without applying experience-based practices. They also point to the ability of the IOT to record the users\u27 interests in doing personal activities and sharing knowledge and skills with other users
