    Clinical Profile of Partial Seizures

    Get PDF
The highest incidence of partial seizures was in 10-19 yrs age group. • Male preponderance was noted in this study (68%). • 78% of patients with focal seizures showed structural lesions on CT scan. • Tuberculoma of the brain is the commonest cause of partial seizures present in 25% of our patients. • The most common site of involvement of tuberculoma are parietal and frontal lobes and no infratentorial lesions were observed. • The next common cause was cerebral infarction in 17% of patients. • Since neuroimaging alone will not help exactly delineating between tuberculoma and neurocysticercosis other supportive clinical evidence must be taken in to account while arriving at a conclusion. • MRI is more specific and sensitive, given the socio economic setup of our country CT scan remains the initial investigation of choice in making the etiological diagnosis of partial seizures

This paper examines the efficacy of the current system of public foodgrains management and policies in promoting food security in the country. It argues that the system has outlived its usefulness, and that continuing with the same only stifles growth in foodgrains, with very little welfare benefits to the poor. The paper then presents a series of suggestions for reforming and modernizing the foodgrains management system in the country that would be welfare improving and also efficient, saving vast amounts of resources that can be used to invest in augmenting agricultural, especially foodgrains output.Food grains management, Food policy, food security

The research study was conducted in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka during the year 2014-15 by using ex-post-facto research design. The total sample of 120 was derived from three taluks of a district by using random sampling method. It is concluded from the present study that, transplanting method of pigeon pea cultivation practices is well known among the respondents. It is seen that education, farming experience, land holding, annual income, risk orientation, scientific orientation, extension participation and sources of information showed positive and highly significant relationship at one per cent level, Whereas, innovativeness and mass media utilization showed positive and significant relationship at five per cent level. One variable i.e., age showed non-significant relationship with knowledge level of transplanting pigeon pea farmers. Farming experience showed positive and highly significant relationship at one per cent level, whereas, education, land holding, annual income, innovativeness, risk orientation, scientific orientation, extension participation, mass media utilization and sources of information showed positive and significant relationship at five per cent level. One variable i.e., age showed non-significant relationship with adoption level of transplanting pigeon pea farmers

The study was conducted to know the knowledge and Adoption level of transplanting method of pigeon pea cultivation practices in Kalaburagi district of North Eastern Karnataka, during the year 2014-15. The total sample of 120 was derived from three each taluks of a district using random sampling method. The study revealed that the maximum (47.50%) respondents had medium level of overall knowledge about transplanting method of pigeon pea cultivation. Whereas nursery management practices majority (100.00%) of the respondents had high level of knowledge regarding BSMR-736 Variety. With respect to main field management practices, majority of the farmers had high level knowledge regarding transplanting time June (81.67%). The overall adoption level of respondents about transplanting method of pigeon pea cultivation had medium level of adoption (45.00%). Whereas nursery management practices majority (70.83%) of the respondents had fully adopted BSMR-736 Variety. With respect to main field management practices, majority of the farmers had fully adopted five tonne/acre FYM application (61.66%)

Today, cerebral stroke issues are one of the most terrifying disorders in the clinical era, in which the most common people are highly affected. Worldwide, more than 20,00,000 individuals are exposed to stroke problems like hemiplegia, consistently, where 70% of them pass away at the instance of stroke. Among the survival group after the treatment, more than 85% of them are exposed to long term permanent disability. The affected community practice themselves to survive along with disability due to financial instability and reachability. While comparing with western standards, developing nations like India need keen attention to improve the medical standards. In order to treat the affected at the instance of stroke, home based methodologies shall be introduced for better performance and to improve the standard of daily living. This project involves a gripper motor based regulator for wrist and fingers incorporated with Arduino 328P. This device is a textile fabric tailored with 5 gripper motors to actuate each fingers as a part of post stroke rehabilitation
