The main purpose of this paper is to find a solution for saving energy in the cell room. Another
purpose of the paper is to find materials suitable for stable side and bottom ledge formation,
research the properties of such materials, and study their behavior in cryolite-alumina melts,
including selection of the most suitable material. Moreover, the paper is concerned with energy
consumption reduction by forming stable side and bottom ledges. Furthermore, as mentioned
earlier, several materials have been selected to form stable side and bottom ledges during the
post-start-up period. The properties of the selected materials have been analyzedЦелью данной работы является разработка технических решений для повышения

Heat-Resistant Concrete for Collector Bars of Aluminum Reduction Сells Insulation
In aluminium reduction technology it’s possible to reduce energy consumption and increase
current efficiency by decreasing anode-cathode distance and horizontal currents in molten
aluminium.
Horizontal currents can be decreased by replacing insulation between cathode carbon block and
collector bar in area of “ledge border – anode periphery projection on lining”. As an insulator it’s
technologically and economically preferable to use refractory concrete which have good adhesion
to steel, and chemical resistance against cryolite-alumina melt, sufficiently low compressive
strength, which prevents cathode carbon block destruction in case of insulator volume expansion
due to electrolyte attack. Results of the refractory concrete properties studies results in order to
select the optimal bar’s insulator material composition are presentedПри производстве алюминия снизить удельный расход электроэнергии и повысить выход

"Flora of Russia" on iNaturalist: a dataset
The "Flora of Russia" project on iNaturalist brought together professional scientists and amateur naturalists from all over the country. Over 10,000 people are involved in the data collection.Within 20 months the participants accumulated over 750,000 photo observations of 6,853 species of the Russian flora. This constitutes the largest dataset of open spatial data on the country’s biodiversity and a leading source of data on the current state of the national flora. About 85% of all project data are available under free licenses (CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-NC) and can be freely used in scientific, educational and environmental activities
