    Quality factors intensively noticed by consumers are bean color, bean maturity, length of bean, bean shape, shape of bean surface, bean crispiness, and sweetness of bean.Since, potassium fertilization could increased the quantity and quality of yield some crops.The objectives of this research were to know the characters of production and young bean sweetness in different potassium environments. The treatments were arranged in factorial arrangement (2x4) with 3 replications. First factors were genotype of long bean which were stripped seed (G1) and black seed (G2). Second factors were KCl dosages which were 0 kg.ha-1(K0), 50 kg.ha-1(K1), 100 kg.ha-1(K2), 150 kg.ha-1(K3) dan 200 kg.ha-1(K4). The genotype of stripped seed had superior quality of production, while yield quantity didn tdifferent between genotype. Fertilization of potassium with dosage 50 kg of KCl /ha had increased the quality of yardlong bean crop production

    This research aims to determine the influence of four doses of empty palm bunches compost (EPB) on growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) and getting the best doses for the growth and yield of onion. This research has been conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru for 2 months starting in February 2016 to April 2016. The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments applied in this research was : 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 tones empty palm bunches compost per ha. Parameters those observed were the plant height, harvesting, the number of tubers per clumps sample, fresh weight of tuber per clumps sample and dry weight of tuber per clumps sample. Data were analyzed statistically by anova and Duncan's test at 5% level. The results showed that implementation of empty palm bunches composts with a dose of 5 tones/ha gave the best results on the plant height, yield, the number of tubers per clumps sample, fresh weight of tuber per clumps sample

    Pengaruh Pemberian Kompos Ampas Tahu Dan Pupuk Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Kakao (Theobroma Cacao L.)

    The purpose of this research is to find out the interaction of giving the compost of tofu dregs and NPK fertilizer and to get the right dose towards the growth of cacao seedling (Theobroma cacao L.). This research was conducted by Completely Randomized Design that consists of 2 factors. The first factors is the dose of the compost of tofu dregs (K) that consists of 4 levels. The second factors is the dose of NPK fertilizer (P) that consists of 3 levels. The Parameters observed were the height of seedling, number of leaves, diameter of stem, and the width of leaves of cacao seedling.The data was analyzed by a statistic way with variance and followed by further testing Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) with 5 % level. The results of this research showed. The combination of treatments of the compost of tofu dregs dose 225 g/plants and NPK fertilizer dose 2 g/plants tend to increase the growth of height of seedling, number of leaves, and diameter of stem, and the width of leaves of cacao seedling. The application of the compost of tofu dreg dose 225 g/plants have good effects toward the growth parameter of height of seedling, number of leaves, diameter of seedling stem and the width of leaves of cacao seedling. The application of NPK fertilizer dose 2 g/plants have good effects toward the growth parameter of height of seedling, number of leaves and diameter of seedling stem

    Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Kascing Danhayati Mikoriza Terhadap Sifat Kimia Tanah Dan Hasil Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt)

    This study aimed to determine the effect of vermicompost and bio fertilizer mycorrhizal against chemical properties of soil and yield of sweet corn. Research conducted at the Experimental Farm Unit, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau soil type inceptisol and Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from February to July 2016. The study was conducted experimentally using CRBD factorial with vermicompost fertilizer the first factor, namely 56.25 g/planting hole, 84.37 g/planting hole, 112.50 g/planting hole and the second factor was the biological mycorrhizal fertilizer 5 g/planting hole, 10 g/planting hole, and 15 g/planting hole so obtained 9 combination treatments and 3 replications. Data of soil chemical parameters were analyzed descriptively and data of crop yields statistically analyzed by analysis of variance was then tested further using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) 5%. The results showed that vermicompost fertilizer and mycorrhizal biological improved the chemistry of soil pH, organic C, total-N, P-total and CEC and affects the yield of sweet corn per plot

    Research on palm oil plant seeds using saline soil media has never been discouraged doing, therefore conducted research using saline soils by providing complementary liquid fertilizer treatment bayfolan. Fertilizer application through the leaves was conducted to determine the effect of fertilizer and to find the best fertilizer concentrations in the medium saline soil on the growth of seedlings of oil palm plantations. The experiment has been conducted in the station Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru from May 2016 to August 2016. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 6 levels p0: 0 ml/l air, p1: 1 ml/l air, p2: 2 ml/l air, p3: 3 ml/l air, p4: 4 ml/l air and p5: 5 ml/lair. Data were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance, then the results followed with honestly significant difference test (BNJ) at 5%. Parameters measured were analysis of soil chemical properties, increase seedling height, increase the number of leaf midrib, increase in diameter hump, root volume, the ratio of the canopy and root and seedling dry weight. The results showed that the effect of fertilizer complementary liquid with different concentrations in the medium saline soil does not produce any real effect on the parameters of observation, only the parameters in the number of leaf midrib and dry weight were influential real and fertilizer complementary liquid with a concentration treatment 3 ml/l water results the highest growth ib the medium of oil palm seedlings to copy from the age of 3 months to 6 months

    Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) is one type of vegetable has long been recognized by the community. The tomato plants have many benefits in an effort to complement the needs of nutritious food, especially as a source of vitamins and minerals, can also be used for drugs. The low productivity of tomatoes one caused by a lack of knowledge of farmers in the use of high yielding varieties. One effort to increase productivity is the use of tomato varieties with good genetic properties such as harvesting, disease resistance, and growth and production tend to be better. In addition to the availability of nutrients, other factors that affect plant growth is the requirement of water for plants, because water is the most material constituent of plant tissues. This irrigation method is possible to apply mainly on land far from water sources or land that has limited water availability. The drip irrigation system can save water consumption, minimize water losses. The purpose of this study, to obtain varieties of tomato growth response and better production with the provision of drip irrigation, and to determine the exact volume of water in enhancing the growth and production of tomato plants.This research will be carried out experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor consists of 3 varieties of tomatoes levels ie: V1: Ratna, V2: Mawar, V3: Karina, and the second factor consisted of 3 volumes of water treatment, namely A1: 100% (field capacity), A2: 75 % (75% of field capacity), A3: 50% (50% of field capacity). The results showed that the overall volume of water had no effect on the growth and production of tomato plants, but the effect on the appearance of flower varieties first.
